Hi everyone,
Recently upgraded from my old Moto G6 to M31. Not sure why Samsung has not activated CA on this phone due to which we cannot get 4G+ (but only 4G) which can improve net speed by using multiple bands at once. Even the 2+ year old Moto G6 had this feature active.
Any way to activate that to improve network performance?

I don't know if there is much todo for it because Exynos modem can't modify. But maybe it support Carrier Aggregation but not with combinations used in your carrier and that's why you don't see 4G+ /LTE+ icon on statusbar or on *#0011# Service Mode.
I have made instructions to check Carrier Aggregation support from modem logs: https://mt-tech.fi/en/how-to-get-4g...ions-from-your-android-phone/#Samsung_Devices . If you can get modem log there can then see if there is anything about Carrier Aggregation. If it support i will then list it to cacombos.com site where can check Carrier Aggregation supported devices and supported combinations.
Exynos 9611 does support Career Aggregation 3CA, most bands are supported, but Samsung has chosen to keep it disabled, it can be activated by a secret service menu, but we need to find out the correct steps, codes, and sequence to access that menu, Samsung service engineers have these codes.
Bro head over to m31 guide and discussion of carrier aggregation and let us solve this problem
Hi, any news about 4g+ issue on m31. I'm looking on net how to enable it.

Hi,
I have a Singapore N920I. Im using the phone in INDIA and am not enable to Enable VOLTE. its says 'unsupported by current software version'. Ive tried enabling the 'turn off volte provisioned flag' but doesn't work when tapping on it. My device is rooted. Is there any way to enable VOLTE on my phone.
Android version : 6.0.1
BaseBand: N920IDVU2BPE2
Model : SM-N920I
Thanks
As far as I know, and don't quote me on this. You cannot. The volte service is different from carrier to carrier. For example, I had a Verizon s6 when I switched to T-Mobile. Both networks support volte/advanced calling, however when I tried to activate volte on T-Mobile, it didn't work. The software is looking for the wrong signal. You're best bet is to sell the one you have an buy one compatible with your carrier. Also you could check over on the general note 5 development threads. There is far more support over there for devices that aren't the 920t. Hope this helps.
Your CSC doesn't support the other network. So its like trying to log into a website with a different website account.
I can't seem to get it working on my Red Magic 3. I've tested using my rooted phone with the app "Network Signal Guru".
I've heard of several Chinese Android manufacturers disabling it, even if the chipset supports it, like Xiaomi and Lenovo. I hope Nubia isn't on that list either. It's a real shame if they decided to gimp the X24 modem in the Snapdragon 855.
Are any other users able to confirm or deny this? Thank you!
Tmobile Speeds
I received the 3s yesterday, did a test on network.
Comparing network speeds against my galaxy s8 plus, the red magic 3s doesn't reach the mobile network speeds on my s8 plus.
S8 plus consistently is over 150mbps-250mbps in my house (Seattle WA)
Red magic 3s sit around 6mbps to 11mbps.
It shows i was on the same band (Band 4)
Possibly the device doesn't support carrier aggregation.
Could it have to do with carrier aggregation? I have decided to send it back for a refund.
If you have a second:
1) Overall thoughts on the device.
2) Does it support VoLTE ( does it drop to 3G in call)?
3) Have you called TMobile to see if there is anything on their end to fix it?
Thanks!
There is way to verify Carrier Aggregation support from 28874 file what could get from modem or get UE Capability Information message with NSG Premium.
I have instructions here: https://mt-tech.fi/en/how-to-get-4g-supported-ca-combinations-from-your-android-phone/#QPST
Could someone send file to https://cacombos.com/contribute so then i can list device to cacombos.com?
I have tried several US variants (NAO_US and USC_US) of LG V40 firmwares but could not find one that has VoLTE and VoWiFi enabled.
How do you guys get VoLTE and VoWiFi to work? The features worked with AT&T firmware but I can't go back to it anymore.
Hi I got VoLTE working but not VoWiFi, I used a 'UA' KDZ version 20f but i cant remember which carrier. I had previously gone to us unlocked and european versions but these didn't work. Sorry it's not more specific.
I have got both VoLTE and VoWiFi to work on Cricket network. Here is a brief summary of the fun and painful journey.
1. Unlock bootloader then install TWRP and Magisk.
2. Hex edit boot_a partition to turn off verity check. (This step was necessary before step #3 so the /OEM directory can be modified)
3. Edit XML and config files under /OEM/OP/OPEN_US with references to VoLTE and VoWiFi
4. Add new entries to /OEM/OP/OPEN_US/CONFIG/vo_config.XML file with MCC and MNC values of Cricket Wireless. LG totally left out Cricket in the XML file. For larger providers, the entries are there but most have VoLTE set to on and VoWiFi disabled.
No idea why LG would make it so difficult to turn on VoLTE and VoWiFi. With the toggles hidden and default set to off, gaining root access was the only solution.
Hey guys, I've got a quick question, how do I figure out which LTE bands are unlocked my phone, would there be a hardware reason why none of the stated bands on the spec list would work, I'm particularly interested in getting band 3 to work

Which version do you have? This link will tell you the LTE bands that are enabled. Click on the model of your variant.

Is band 3 available and active in your area?
One way to confirm it is to download "LTE Discovery" app. It has an LTE log that will show you all the towers your phone have connected to.
Hello!
Did anyone manage to get VoLTE and VoWiFi to work with any EU carrier and SM-G7810? I have the options enabled in settings, but, unfortunately, I think the phone does some sort of carrier check(my carrier is Orange RO). As it seems that many people in Europe bought this phone as it has 8 GB RAM and it tends to be rather cheap, has anyone been able to get VoLTE to work? The bands are okay, and in my case I know it's not a carrier issue(I had Xiaomi phones which were also not supported officially by the carrier but I called them once and told asked them to just enable VoLTE and VoWiFi for me and from that point on it worked after I disabled the carrier check on the Xiaomi phone). In my area I have poor 3G and 2G reception, but very good LTE band 20 so VoLTE is quite important for me.

Hi, do you fix it ? I have also the same problem.
After clearing Carrier Whitelist VoLTE is working for me on DiGi and Vodafone Romania . IT also works Digi 5G that doesn't have extensive coverage .
What strangely doesn't seem to work is B3 2CA on Vodafone , strangely it works B3+B1 but not B3 intraband.
Also the good thing about the phone is the existance of B20 that really works even the phone is HK, China model

Hello. Can you please tell me how you cleared Carrier Whitelist? I can't find any information online. Thank you.
Search XDA as it is in the service menu and it is used generally for 5GCarriwr Whitelisting.
Has anyone figured out how to force VoLTE on Origin OS Ocean when the phone isn't on the 'supported' list of your carrier? If it is supported then as soon as you pop in their SIM card the option to enable VoLTE appears, but otherwise it just isn't there. With 3g networks shutting down in North America this creates a real problem, because even though I have 5g enabled, and usually pick up a 4g or 5g signal where I live, without VoLTE enabled all calls connect on 3g.
It's a real bummer. But whatever is under the settings, VoLTE is not actually activated. And Vivo is to blame. That's obvious from the service menu.

In Italy after 2/3 days Volte is automatically activated (operator Vodafone). Didn't touch any settings.

The VoLTE issue lies with Vivo, not with your carrier. When you put a carrier SIM into your phone it contains unique information that tells the phone who your carrier is and the phone then configures the APN settings automatically. You cannot edit them. In Origin OS Ocean you can open System/etc/apn-config.xml and you will see a list of every carrier in the world and read what default APN settings the operating system automatically configures the APN for that carrier to be.
I have the Vivo X Note with the same Origin OS Ocean firmware as the X70pro. My Canadian carrier supports VoLTE and WiFi calling and their tech support manually added the IMEI of my phone to the equipment list for my line and assured me that VoLTE and WiFi calling are provisioned for the line, but neither of those toggles appear in my Mobile Networks/Sim settings, because the APN that Vivo applies for my carrier doesn't support VoLTE. If I put the same SIM into my Samsung Note 20 Ultra 5g or my Huawei Mate 20 X and look at the APN settings, they permit VoLTE and the toggle and feature works on those phones - so it is not the carrier, or the SIM - it is Vivo and their default APN settings for your carrier.
I have a strong 5g signal here, and I can download and stream or do VoIP calls at 5g, but when I place a voice call it drops to 3g or H. That isn't an issue here in Canada, because we have kept our 3g voice network up and running. When I travel to the US, however, I can't place calls because without VoLTE enabled voice calls drop to 3g - which no longer exists in the United States. Someone needs to convince Vivo to change the apn-config.xml file to reflect APNs for North American carriers to ensure VoLTE is possible. I would just edit the .xml file myself, but you can't save changes to an .xml file without root, and we can't root because Vivo won't unlock the bootloader for Origin OS Ocean devices.

I don't think it's a Vivo problem. Carriers should give you access. As said before after 2 days I have Volte and HD icon even if device is not ufficial supported. I didn't change or touch anything. If your carrier uses a restricted policy on 5G or Volte there is nothing you can do.

My experience with VoLTE is kinda weird, settings show me that I have both VoLTE and VoWiFi enabled. But none of them really work. It's true that obviously system recognize that, send me a notice that I could have VoLTE enabled and routes me to the message to my provider. And even more thrilled - I can toggle VoLTE in settings, get the HD voice sign in notification bar, but I don't have any VoLTE. The only direct consequence of the toggle is that I lose the caller's name in the phone, every caller becomes the unknown number. But my provider is not trustworthy, the other users have issues with VoLTE, I frankly don't know anyone who has it enabled. Thus, I tried my wife's sim and didn't get even option to enable VoLTE. My wife has a Chinese (Honor) phone and both VoLTE and VoWiFi work with this phone flawlessly. That's why I assume that the problem is on Vivo's side.
