Anyone tried flashing the android 10 chinese rom on global version? Will I still be able to come back to global? Tried xiaomi.eu android 10 but it still has bugs. I'm also curious about the chinese rom that's why ask if it is possible.

I think it is possible as chinese rom can be converted to global. But why do that. As far as I know chinese rom does not come with google play.
It's possible , i tried it ,never loved it , returned back to global miui 11 android 9 after less than 15 minutes.
now there is update to android 10 global but there is no custom recovery or rooting support till now.

I wanted to buy K20 Pro 8/256 version since they didn't release it here in Europe. But i have some question regarding ROM. I wanted to buy it on aliexpress for example here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33025436528.html there are versions with Chinese rom and Global rom, so what i want to ask:
1. If i understand correctly it's a chinese market version with installed Global (indian) rom, is that right?
2. Does this Indian Global rom receive OTA updates?
3. From what I've read there is chinese ROM for this phone (english+chinese), Indian one and Global/EU one (? see next question)
4. But these are also 2 versions of the phone itself, Chinese and Indian? Or did I hear wrong? I heard its better to buy Indian one, but where can I find it?
5. Is it possible to install Mi 9T Pro Global EU rom on this phone? Is it even out yet?
6. I know that the bootloader will be unlocked, so the only way to relock it is to install Chinese rom, am i right? (I mean i heard that banking apps don't like unlocked phones)
7. I heard about Xiaomi.eu but I'm not really a fan of fan-made roms. I mean most of my past phones were working on stock roms since i didn't really feel the need to change it. But if there might be some problems with Indian ROM, maybe is it worth to check it out?
Thanks in advance

The Indian version is missing NFC hardware. The Chinese model also has a couple more LTE bands unlocked, but none that you'll care about in Europe. So as far as hardware is concerned, the Chinese model is better. It is the Indian ROM that is better, but it does have the NFC chip software disabled, so you'll lose NFC functionality with the Indian ROM on a Chinese phone.
Originally, the Chinese phones sold with a global ROM had fake global ROMs installed. Once the Indian variant was released they started to install the official Indian ROM. Now that the official EEA ROM is available, some sellers may start to install that instead of the Indian ROM. In theory, if they are installing untouched official ROMs, then they should have OTA working.
Yes the Mi 9T Pro ROM is now available.
Yes you will hard brick the phone if you try to lock the bootloader with an official ROM that is not the same region as the phone.
You should be able to overcome issues with banking apps, etc. by flashing Magisk and installing appropriate Magisk modules.
Xiaomi.eu is a little bit more than a fan made ROM. It is a community developed ROM, but it has been going almost as long as MIUI itself. They have worked in collaboration with Xiaomi through the years, helping Xiaomi to globalise some of their apps, with Xiaomi reciprocating by helping occasionally with the Xiaomi.eu ROMs. The ROMs themselves take official Chinese MIUI source code as its base, the team then add many languages to make it global, remove all bloatware and adware and as much unneeded, Chinese centric MIUI apps as possible, then add some of there own customisation and tweaks.

yeah also in same situation, have same model running 10.3.3 stable (PFKMIXM) , i have heard others getting updated to MIUI 11 but my global model does not seem to have got any further OTA updates beyond that, tried changing different regions to try force it but nothing has worked.
all i am wanting is to get to android 10 with either MIUI 11 or some form of it like the .eu version or MIUIMIX as i don't mind MIUI and would be nice to keep stock xiaomi camera and also have install a port of gcam. but all the roms i have seen are for the k20 pro varient or the Mi 9t pro running CN or IN firmware not the global firmware.
am tempted to try pixel experience or evolution X too but people keep telling me to stay clear until it supports upgrading from the global rom.
what did you end up doing?

Hello everyone
I have a simple question out of curiosity. I have a global version of a Mi 11 Ultra that cane with a preinstalled MIUI 12.0.1.0 global ROM (RKAMIXM). After unlocking the bootloader I firstly installed xiaomi eu of which I was very disappointed and then moved to the official EEA firmware on MIUI 12.5.3.0 (RKAEUXM) which is my current Daily driver. I would like to know since my device came with a different global rom if the use of the EEA firmware may create a compatibility issue in terms of internet bands and connection speed and in that case if you recommend to move back to original global (which now is available in version 12.5.2.0)

The EEA and Global rom is virtually the same. The reason you can't flash the EEA and then flash the Global is because of anti-rollback code in the flash-all.bat file of the roms. Remove that (usually lines 4-11 in Notepad++) and all roms, regardless of version are flashable. So you can actually try and see which one you like best.
Are you sure I have to do this? Because I flashed EEA 12.5.3.0 over Xiaomi EU 12.5.7.0 without doing that. Did anybody tried both EEA 12.5.3.0 and the new global 12.5.2.0 and tell me the difference?

There's literally no difference Between the EEA and Global rom. The MiFlash tool usually gives someone an error code because of the anti-roll back section in the <flash-all.bat> file when a downgrade is attempted. If it was successful for you, Congratulations! However, it wasn't successful for me and the rom wouldn't successfully complete the install until I edited the script.

Why then the two versions? Which version do you use? I am curious to try the global and see if there is any improvement over the EEA I am using now (especially for 5g speed), even though the one I am using now is blazing fast, but on the global changelog it says performance is 20 times faster (now this might be true already for the EEA version I'm using now)

The reason there are two versions is that they use different radio bands in Europe vs in other areas for example, so the radio bands may be slightly different. Adverts for that region may also be different. I am on T-Mobile here in the US and am running the Xiaomi.eu rom, which is based on the CN rom with Google services baked in and all Chinese bloat removed. This rom (weekly) has many more features that the EEA and Global rom doesn't. Such as the ability too use the rear display for video, which you the EEA and Global doesn't have as yet.
Well I am more interested in the efficiency of the 5g here in uk and what woukd be the best rom. I feel like my stock global was slightly better than this EEA I have now. I might format and flash it to check it out. It's just annoying every time you have to flash you loose all of your data and progress. Still on my current rom I am doing some debloating testing for idle battery improvements
Like I said, it's basically the same with some minor changes specific to the region.
I think I have to try it out myself if I want to be sure

EEA 12.5.6, I expect to come next week or the following to global
Hello.
Good day to everyone.
I got the mi 11 ultra Chinese version and I flashed the MIUI 13. Before it had global stable 12.5. (i bought it with that rom preinstalled and unlocked).
I installed the MIUI 13 china because I use Google pay and I wanted a locked rom but i Iive in Europe so Its very frustrating to set up the Chinese version. I want a phone for everyday use but i didn't know that It was china version and I couldn't use Google pay when I bought it.
The phone is Chinese MIUI 13 locked totally as stock.
I want to unlock and go back to MIUI 12 either on global or eea rom. Which one u suggest. I read about Xiaomi eu rom but I don't want to mess up with my phone Everytime I have to update it except if Xiaomi eu rom update itself like global or eea rom.
What u think?
And how to do it?
unlock bootloader then flash xiaomi.eu stable version (miui 13) , you can search and follow instructions on xiaomi.eu
Very stable for me

Xiaomi eu miui 13 rom comes with saferypass preinstalled or i need to install it on my own? I use Googlepsy a lot.
Do u know something?
Yes, it's pre- installed.
I have been waiting for the miui 12.5 update for my xiaomi mi 9 lite (EU) since July 2021 anyway. only the gobal and russian version have already come out and i'm still waiting now and since miui13 on android 11 has already been announced for mi 9 lite i have a feeling the 12.5 isn't coming. Is there anyone here who can tell me if the update is coming or if I can switch to the global version without losing all my data?
I have a European sim card and it should still work! I've heard stories about xiaomi phones with EU SIM card that all work with English as language
The bootloader is unlocked.
Unfortunately EEA roms are always hit or miss when it comes to updates due to EU regulations. I wouldn't hold my breath for any updates past the last one we got way back in early 2021 (MIUI 12).
I highly doubt this device will receive MIUI 13 as it has already reached EOL (and was never really a popular model, sadly). You should be able to flash the Global version of MIUI 12.5 or a custom rom like Xiaomi.EU though; there are guides on the forum that you can follow.
I can switch tot gobal but works my simcard ? And is it a update? Or is my data gone?

Your SIM should work without any problems, however you will need to wipe your device clean to switch roms.
