auto boot when charger connected - Google Pixel 4 XL Questions & Answers

I'm desperate. I installed version 6.7 of the crDroidAndroid ROM on a Samsung Galaxy S9. Unfortunately, the charger from the Pixel 4 is installed in this ROM. Therefore there is no / system / bin / lpm file which I can edit so that the device starts automatically when it is supplied with power. The developers of this ROM don't know what to do here either. fastboot oem off-mode-charge 0 does not work with the Samsung either. Does anyone here know how to get it to run so that the device starts automatically when it is supplied with power?
I post my question because you can not help me with the Samsung devices, can not help in the crDroid post either. The developers of cdDroid cannot help and here is my last port of call.

Wrong forum, this is the rom section for the Pixel 4 XL, you want the questions and answers forum for the Galaxy S9.

It is about the part of the loading function which is implemented by the Pixel 4 in the ROM for the S9. The normal ROMs for the S9 have the corresponding lpm file, which is not available with the pixel loading function. So if a pixel user can tell me how it works with the pixel, then I can also set that with the S9.

I've already tried that. I have already tried to add the following content to this file:
#!/system/bin/sh
/system/bin/reboot
and granted the authorization that she had previously. Unfortunately, this ends with the device booting into download mode. Can you tell me how exactly I have to manipulate this file?

I'm completely the wrong person to ask, I just searched charging related files in root explorer and that's what had come up.

[PLEASE HELP] Lenovo K3 Note (K50-T5)

Hello to all guys , I just got this fantastic Lenovo phablet , but I do not like the translation and Vibe UI , I want to find a pure Android rom . I know that almost certainly there are devices that have the Lenovo compatible roms . Can anyone help me out ? :crying::crying::crying:
I have the same problem, I just changed to new version of VibeUI and had some problems with google apps HELP!
I'm pretty sure as this phone is, new rooting and roms are still being developed. Be patience.. or learn to make one yourself
To those who find this thread do be careful! I've already seen posts about people who have bricked this phone trying to root it.
Got the same phone. Liking the layout etc. Not the official VIBE UI rom.
It's set to English, but still finding Chinese icons/text everywhere.
Since I don't speak/read Chinese; issue...
Also sometimes laggy, due to lots of processes/apps running in the background, which can not be deleted or stopped.
Looking forward to when the community embraces this phone, and stock Android ROMS will be available on short term.
It's a (edit: potential!) flag-ship killer, in my eyes...
Hi,
I am trying to port cm12 to this device. It is the first time I am doing although I have previously created custom ROMs by editing system.img, so I am a noob.
I managed to get a stock rom: K50-T5_USR_ST1516_5.654.1_1504152228_MP6V3_CN.rar.
I have slightly modified build/tools/device/mkvendor.sh to be able to work with mediatek files which have a 512 bytes extra header.
I've triedt to create a recovery but I am not sure if it will work as I have some errors in the output

Should I copy anything from boot or recovery's ramdisk?
You can find attached the information I've been able to collect (info.txt and build.prop.txt) and build.log which was in a folder in the stock ROM.
Thanks

AOSP based 5.0 build for the K3 Note
Nanj at a Chinese forum had released an AOSP based 5.0 build for the K3 Note
http://bbs.ydss.cn/thread-551335-1-1.html (in Chinese but with captures)
The download link:
http://pan.baidu.com/s/1hqAdrrY
No gapps are included. The build functions ok. Camera, phone / data, and wifi seem to work. However please note that there is an undesirable apk, posed as a system component, at /system/app/SystemServer/SystemServer.apk. It sends frequent packets back to 622b6.romdu.com in China, similar to the issue in another post for a different rom -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55315205&postcount=54
The ROM also comes with a Chinese version of the Opera browser, Oupeng, which also sends analytics packets in the background.
With the two programs removed suspicious packets are no longer obvious from logcat.

New VIBE UI
There has been a new update released by Lenovo.
VIBEUI_V2.5_1524_5.955.1_ST_K50-T5
I have not updated as of yet, for the reason being I am very dissatisfied with the VIBEUI. I currently run 1522, despite the obvious and numerous complications of using the Asian based firmware. I have had to replace the dialer and sms, mms apps as well as install a font manager, even so I am still unable to get 4G working. I would much prefer a pure Android rom and for the past month have been considering beginning a project to build a new Lollipop rom supporting the 67xx MTK chipsets. It would be my first attempt at doing so since all my previous phones have been LG, HTC and NEXUS devices which have always proved easy enough to manipulate and customize.
If anyone out there has experience in building custom roms, especially for devices using the newer 64bit Mediatek chipset, please feel free to contact me. I would appreciate any help offered in this endeavor and I know there are many other MTK device owners out there that are just waiting for someone, or a group of someones', to pioneer a solution for those of us in the western hemisphere using these MTK devices. I am constantly on the look out for new information and projects pertaining to this, additionally I have a dedicated computer with all the SDKs needed to begin the project.
PM me if you are interested in helping kick start this project. Thanks.
What is the significance of this ROM string? I see that "ST" prob means (stable).
Know what "CC", "WCA2" and "WCA8" means in these I found below?
Do you know where is the (official) location to find the latest English language ROM?
My proximity sensor is not working and I'm wondering if moving to a diff ROM will fix that.
VIBEUI_V2.5_1520_7.128.1_CC_K50-T5_WCA2.zip (Android 5.0)
VIBEUI_V2.5_11520_5.827.1_ST_K50_T5 (Android 5.0) <------ the one my phone came with; multi-language
VIBEUI_V2.5_1524_5.955.1_ST_K50-T5_WCA8.zip (???)
VIBEUI_V2.8_1526_7.80.1_CC_K50-T5.zip (VIBE 2.8, Android 5.1)

I've tested only on Moto Z Play stock Nougat and LineageOS based ROMs. You may be right. Perhaps some manufacturers hardcode their ROMs to bypass this kind of modification. I don't have any other device to test this on. I'll post a poll to see how that goes. Thanks.

Usually, this doesn't cause any issue in case it doesn't work. You can easily remove it from the Magisk Manager app. Alternatively, you can also mount magisk.img from recovery and delete the folder "magiskmiracast" inside /magisk.
Use this recovery flashable zip
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4081169&d=1489956274
to mount magisk.img to /magisk.

Trying to build Halium for tab 2

So I'm trying to get halium working for tab 2 (we can get ubuntu touch and maybe even plasma mobile with help of it) and I get this error
Code:
arch/arm/boot/compressed/atags_to_fdt.o: In function `merge_fdt_bootargs':
atags_to_fdt.c:(.text+0x20c): undefined reference to `__stack_chk_fail'
atags_to_fdt.c:(.text+0x210): undefined reference to `__stack_chk_guard'
It seems to be a toolchain error any help?
"It would appear that the -mstack-protector-guard option is only for backwards compatibility with how the stack protector worked in the past. In the past the canary was in a global variable. Later it was switched to TLS. It would appear that the operating system / libc you use either removed or never had support for the global variable canary, so only TLS works.
Don't touch the -mstack-protector-guard option and everything should work. The default should be fine when you use -fstack-protector-all."
"Provide __stack_chk_guard with a random value in c file, avoid using regular values like all zero's or FF's because the stack can easily get these values during any memory operation. Wiki on providing magic number implementation. This __stack_chk_guard will be placed at the top and bottom of the stack, which will be checked during every stack access. Any change in the value implies a corrupted stack and returns with error providing the stack protection.
unsigned long __stack_chk_guard;
void __stack_chk_guard_setup(void)
{
__stack_chk_guard = 0xBAAAAAAD;//provide some magic numbers
}
void __stack_chk_fail(void)
{
/* Error message */
}// will be called when guard variable is corrupted "
"There are two ways to remove this error: 1. From the compiler option disable(comment out) the "stack guard".
Define __stack_chk_guard in you c file.
When you define __stack_chk_guard make sure you provide random value to it. For providing random value you need to pass as an argument to the random function.
For any further detail you can refer to the compiler manual."
"For those that get this error in bare metal software development with a custom linker script, make sure to pass the option -nostdlib option:
gcc -nostdlib
since Ubuntu 16.04 for example enables the stack protection by default on the compiler. man gcc says:
NOTE: In Ubuntu 14.10 and later versions, -fstack-protector-strong is enabled by default for C, C++, ObjC, ObjC++, if none of -fno-stack-protector, -nostdlib, nor -ffreestanding are found.
-fno-stack-protector also solved it for me, but you should likely tell your poor compiler that you are doing baremetal stuff to prevent other such problems.
I'm guessing this is because the feature relies on symbols which are normally defined if a linker script is not given? But TODO I found no mention of those symbols by dumping the default linker script with:
aarch64-linux-gnu-gcc -Wl,-verbose main.c
so I'm not sure.
I grepped GCC 6.4.0 source code and it suggests that the symbol comes from libgcc2.c at gcc/doc/tm.texi:
The default version of this hook creates a variable called @samp{__stack_chk_guard}, which is normally defined in @file{libgcc2.c}."

Is there any known bypass to older devices sign in blocking?

I've got android 4.0.4 and Google sign ins are now blocked on this old version, making it unusable, is there any way around this at all? I've tried various custom ROMs (AOSP 5.1, 7.1, CM11, CM9) all but CM9 face the "play services have stopped" every second and CM9 is the same version I was already using so no difference in sign ins made. Device is GT P3710 (P5 WiFi). I just want to be able to access the play store normally again, I'm not ready to accept this devices life is over yet.
You can spoof your device fingerprint using something like MagiskHide Props Config...
Otherwise, depending on the device, you can try to load a GSI, although Project Treble was introduced with Android 8.0 so it's possible your device isn't capable.
Is your device possibly the GT-P7310 (Galaxy Tab 8.9) and you just made a typo?

Thanks I'll look into it! And yes sorry, I didn't catch that, I indeed meant the GT P7310

Okay. This thread will be moved to that section. In the future, please remember to search before posting; we have an entire section of the forum dedicated to the Tab 8.9.
As for helping you...A peek in that section shows that there's not only TWRP available for your device here but a custom AOSP 7.1 based ROM too.
