Hello,
With the new firmware update I'm not able to connect to adguard or nordvpn on my s10.
Any solution much appreciated!
Hmm, I haven't tried any others but Winscribe is working fine for me.
My error
Workaround for me is to use openvpn app from play store and import a nordvpn udp profile.
This is working OK. But not adguard or nordvpn.
Update:
I had raised this issue with nordvpn support.
They seemed to have fixed this issue in their latest version their app from their website (not playstore).
We must uninstall previous app completely including clearing data/cache first.
Vpn wise Blokada is working just fine for ad blocking
nope, blokada is NOT working for me, and yes I tried many settings but ads keep coming through at aps ... unfortunately
and the worst is we can not downgrade from the August update (if any one has a suggestion on this I am open)
thanks for any workarounds
Someone already tried to a full factory reset to fix the issue (I tried Blokada, forticlient and Adguard but all have the same issues)
Wireguard working fine here with August security patch. Maybe it's a problem specific to the Exynos version?
Did nobody realise that latest update from Samsung made the App ( NetGuard) again 100% working?
Happy for now again, on my S10

Not sure if there is a solid way to troubleshoot this as I am unfamiliar with Android app logs...
I have this app called MangaSearcher and I noticed after updating to TrickDroid 9.1.0, the app fails to make any kind of network connection. When you do a sync in the app, all I get are network errors.
To try and fix the issue, I tried to clear cache, clear data, uninstall and reinstall from TB backup, uninstall and install fresh from the Play Store, and I even did all these steps after a clean install of TD 9.1.0 after I reverted from TD 10.0.0 due to one too many app incompatibilities with 4.3, including this app.
Is there anyone that is willing to try installing this MangaSeacher app on a 4.2.2 or 4.3 ROM (preferably TD) and see if they can sync anything? From just searching for anything to actually syncing chapters available. The developer wasn't as responsive so I'm hoping for some crowd-sourced answer...
Otherwise, any recommendations on how I can troubleshoot this at a more granular level would also be appreciated so I can attempt to figure any future issues.
Thanks!
Just in case anyone cares, it seems like some user posted on the Google Play page that T-Mobile explicitly blocks traffic to the "10" servers that serve content for this app. Wi-Fi works fine.
Sent from my HTC One
I got a notification that an installation failed while I was sleeping. (It failed, most likely, because my play store/services are broken at the moment.) I didn't request the installation and it's not an update.
-I'm running a trimmed stock ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2720664
-My Google pass is decent, and I haven't been logging in on anything but my own hardware.
-I'm not running any other apps by this developer
-Google account security shows no strange, or even recent, logins
-Wifi was on and connected, bluetooth was off
-I'm on a new wifi network with weak security
Here's the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.medieval.blueftp
Any insights or questions before I wipe?

Someone walked into your room and tried to download it while you slept. Don't know of any methods of accessing and controlling an Android phone without having other software previously installed first.
Yeah, my best guesses are:
a rogue app / ROM (though I've only installed apps from the play store)
a malfunction in the play store servers
a hacker sniffed my auth token for Google over wifi somewhere (I've been on a couple of public-ish networks lately)
I can't imagine a malfunction on the phone's end that would successfully trigger the install of a specific, new app.

Yeah... You'll never know maybe.. So just change your Google password and reflash the rom wiping everything
Been trying both Blockada and DNS66, however when I try to start the service the VPN dialogue won't let me select OK to setup the VPN. Anyone else tried?
I've got DNS66 working fine here. I'd installed it on Nougat, but it continues to work on Oreo.
I've just stopped the VPN service through the DNS66 app interface several times and restarted it. And also switched VPN on and off in the Android settings (where DNS66 is listed). If I switch it on or off in either of these locations the same state is truly reflected in the other, and in both the key icon appears on the status bar with ads being blocked as expected.
So, it does work and has here managed to do its job unnoticed since I got the Nokia 8. I guess you've tried uninstall/reinstall clearing caches? If not give it a go. Any way you know now that it's possible to have it work.
Good luck with your effort to get your VPN sorted
Another app i was using to round the corners was causing the problem. Removing it, setting up VPN then reinstalling solved the issue.
I didn't want to hijack the Adhell 3 thread so am starting a new one
I managed to install Adhell 3 yesterday on my S10 and absolutely love it (the Internet is so snappy!!) however I've just gone to install an app from Google Play Store (and update an app) and it freezes at the installation part, draining rate battery. The only thing I've done different is install AH3 but have whitelisted Google Play Store as I was thinking the blocking of the app was what was doing it but am still having issues. Really not sure if the 2 are connected, its just the other thing that's changed since I last installed an app (right before I managed to get AH3 on my phone)
Did you by any chance disabled device security app in Adhell?

ha! I did!!! In another battery optimization forum, some people have had success with disabling the device security meanwhile others have had it "break" GPS...in my case, it "broke" GPS
It gets better, you can use the DNS changer in Adhell3 to setup say, 1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1 Cloud DNS
instead of use the VPN app which makes banking apps not function, and w/o having to run some code over ADP to change the system DNS.
Ohhhh!!!!
Hi All,
does anybody has Adguard app ( not private DNS ) sucessfully running with One UI ?
I tried Blokada but could not get that relieable working. Always gets killed or somewhat ...
Could not try Adguard atm as i'm still waiting for my new device.
Maybe someone has tried that and could give his experience here and maybe tell the settings which are needed.
Thanks in advance.
I am successfully using AdGuard on my GM781U. It used to disable itself every once and awhile, but has been very stable the past few months. Not sure if one of the recent updates to AdGuard helped.
I had tried both DNS66 and Blockada with decent results, but it has been awhile, so don't remember why I ended up getting AdGuard.
Also you can combine AdGuard Content Blocker (free, Google Play) with your Yandex or Samsung browser + any adblocker DNS (like dns.comss.one) if you want to minimize delay in loading web pages and not experience adblock app blocking by background services management mechanisms.
Previously, I used only Adguard standalone app and it seemed to me that its work was unstable, often the Internet was simply interrupted or some other apps refused to accept its CA certificate.
