Hi ,this is very upsetting for me because I just got the HTC One today and I already managed to mess it up. First I unlocked the bootloader then I rooted it then I got s-off then they try to install this ROM: android revolution HD. So I went thru the installation prosses. And did a wipe dalvic cach. And tried to boot it, but instead it took me to the bootloader! I tryed to reboot.. but again bootloader. And within that it puts me in fastboot. I can't get into twrp recovery or boot to system. I'm stuck. Please help!!!!!! (P.s. It just came in the mail today! My dad got it for me as a gift. He told me not to mess around with Roms... But I didn't listen.. so the fact that I bricked it I'm trying to hide till I hopefully find a way to fix it. So please help fast!!!!!!) Thanks
You could try to flash cwm recovery via fastboot.
First you need to have the cwm.img on your computer.
Then you need to set up fastboot (google it I cant remember it exactly).
Then open cmd and type this: \fastboot
This should get you: C:/fastboot (if it doesnt google it.. It is explained somewhere)
Then you flash the recovery img with this command: fastboot flash recovery nameofyourrecovery.img (make sure the recovery.img is on your C: drive.
Then the recovery is flashed you need to get back to the bootloader (if it doesnt boot automatically) with the command fastboot reboot bootloader. Then select recovery and boot into it. Flash your ROM and youre done!
Pm me if you neef more help.

Okay, you need to first make sure that your bootloader is unlocked, to check this enable USB debugging, go to your adb directory and open a CMD and run adb reboot oem-unlock
If it returns with 'good to go' or something similar then it's unlocked, if not, follow unlocking procedures.
Second you need to download CM, and CWM.img place the cwm image in your fastboot directory and run fastboot flash recovery 'name of file'.img. once that is done do a bat pull and when you put it back in turn on and hold the volume up key. This will boot you to recovery.
Make a back up.
then you need to wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, go to advanced>wipe dalvik cache. Go to mounts and wipe /system
Go to install zip on the main page and locate either on the internal storage or the external storage the zip of CM and install it.
Reboot and wait up to 4-5Minutes for first boot, once booted go to your browser and download the Gapps zip and flash in the same way as you did the Rom without wiping anything. If you would like to use a custom kernel download the correct kernel for your android version and flash in the same way as gapps.
If you have any problems just search for a flashing tutorial or post your problem back in this thread rather then opening a new one.

If you aren't capable of following the current instructions then you should not be attempting to mess around with your phone.
None of it is difficult and all the information is out there - make it your responsibility to read, understand and know what to do if it goes wrong.

people is your weapon. you know how many videos are out there in youtube ? even if its an old one, it will definately help you understand the whole procedure. really it cant be any easier. u need to root the phone so you can install anything. u need to unlock the bootloader so u can change the boot image , you need to format so you have a clean phone and of course you need an os to open up again the phone. like he said it cant be any easier. take for example me. 4 months ago , i start reading and watching videos. it took me 8 days to learn the basic and understand what i have to do and took me one day to do it. 9 days overall. now ? now i can totally mess it up and bring it back to life in 5 minutes... study it a little. you cant mess with linux based os without understanding how it works.
<<EDIT>>
For example ,
Here says u have to do that to unlock.
He says for windows u need the drivers. You can search and find them. For example one place to download them is here.
How to install the drivers has nothing to do with this forum , you must know how to force the drivers in windows , but if u search u will find that too.
To unlock now is only one command in terminal. wait a few seconds and u are done.
The procedure is only one command. the hard part is not something that has to do with the android or the forum. its windows fault if its so lame that cant even recognize properly a simple usb device.
Hey everyone,
So I am in quite the pickle here and need some help from experts. Seeing as how my google searches were leading more and more to this site, I figured the time had come to create an account and ask my specific issue question:
So here's the situation I'm currently in:
• My phone is bricked. Yes I have no backup (my first shooting of myself in the foot), and a pretty clear SD card (no OS so I cannot boot it. It gets stuck at the startup screen)
• I have the bootloader unlocked
• I have S-ON
• I do not have SU installed
• I have TWRP 3.0.2-0 installed
What I'm looking to do is stock reset my phone so I can just get it back to par. SO like any normal human being I go to google and enter "Stock reset HTC ONE M9" and find all kinds of videos and threads about how to do so. Unfortunately, most thread and videos assume that you have S-OFF and/or SU installed.
So here is my struggle now:
• I want to install SU so I can do things like lock the bootloader and flash a stock ROM to get my phone back to factory stock.
• However, It seems that I cannot install SU because I need an operating system to do so? (Not sure on that part) Reason being, using my current version of TWRP (3.0.2-0) I have tried to install SU versions 1.25, 2.75, 2.76, etc. etc. However, when I install them using TWRP it reboots about 100 times and then gets stuck on the startup screen. Then when I try to use ADB SHELL and enter the "su" command, I find out that SU is not found or in other words not installed.
So I'm not sure if I'm totally screwed and have the chicken and the egg problem where I can't install SU without an OS and I can't install an OS without unlocking the boot loader first which I need SU for)
If there is a way to flash a stock ROM in my current condition that is the answer I'm looking for. I just want to factory reset my phone.
Any thoughts, suggestions, or link are greatly appreciated. At this point I'm desperate to not buy an new phone. Throw your crazy methods of solving this problem my way please!
Also please note that I am still learning the ins and outs of things like the bootloader, RUU, ROM, Recovery so any definitions or helpful comments you provide about what something is and what it is meant to do is greatly appreciated for I am still learning.
Thanks.
hey man supersu only works with a system in place... soff or on doesnt give a crap about a system restore...but since you have twrp recovery , just download a ruu zip or a custom rom for the m9 flash it using twrp and have su installed then

Awesome good to know! So I'm downloading a stock RUU zip.
But when I try to flash it though TWRP I get an error saying:
"Failed to mount '/system' (Invalid arguments)"
"Could not find 'META-INF/com/gogle/android/update-binary' in the zip file."
"Error installing zip file '/sdcard/M9_3.38.502.12_FullStock.zip'"
Can you lend me some information on what this means?
EDIT
I also tried to fastboot flash zip ROM.zip and get "RU_SECURITY_FAIL zip from usb command in download mode" which I think I need S-OFF for.
Great Unbrick and SU install guide
Finally fixed it. Found a great guide for both an unbrick and su install all-in-one.
(I'd post a link but I can't post links since I'm too new.)
I found it on teamandroid and the title was "Update HTC One (M9) to Android 6.0.1 Stock Rooted Marshmallow Custom ROM"
Hi!
I did a rebrand and updated my P10 to VTR-L29C432B180.
But every time I try to reboot to recovery, I boot with Huawei recovery.
If I want to boot to TWRP I need to reload it from bootloader mode and restart with adb command.
I would like to restart recovery without reload it each time.
Could you help me to fix this please?
I've got another problem with TWRP. I can't access to internal memory because the file name are changed. They are changed to code as if they were secured. I must have missed something ?
Thanks for your help!

Twrp is not able to manage Huawei encryption scheme, that is the reason FromFuture (the only custom ROM around) request to format /data while installing, he managed to avoid re-encryption, which usually happens compulsively whenever EMUI boots. It's a forced function (and useless to me) that has no management (at all), but there it is...
Probably (not 100% sure about this), the same system overwrites the recovery as part of the process. If that is the case, FF ROM is the only solution I know (there is kangvip ROM too, but it's not published here and even when there is a specific kernel to avoid re-encryption, it didn't work for me).
Thanks for your reply. I understand the encryption stuff...
I'm going to try to fix my problem with SD card and flash SU. I hope the ROM rooted will satisfy myself.
Did you disconnect the USB cable when you try to start TWRP?
I did... Ko !
I managed to root the phone and I installed TWRP from Flashify and now it's ok.
Thanks for the help.

Hey everyone
I recently got this phone and went through the bootloader unlock process.
I then tried to follow the instructions on this page https://wiki.pixelexperience.org/devices/rosemary/install/ to get this rom installed but somehow ****ed it up.
Everything went well until I tried to flash the recovery img from this page: https://get.pixelexperience.org/rosemary (i downloaded the 13 plus recovery img).
I flashed the img via fastboot but after that I got stuck in fastboot. The phone is stuck in a bootloop when I try to reboot into recovery or normal boot. The only thing I can get back into is fastboot.
Would really appreciate any help to get the phone working again. Im not new to android custom roms but Im new to xiaomi phones and Im a little lost
Thanks.
OK nevermind I successfully got the phone booting again with miflash tool by reflashing an official firmware...
Greetings!
You can install the rom via adb sideload too. Put on some random recovery (see my tutorial here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/twrp-on-android-12.4522273/), and start adb sideload.
Then,
adb sideload insert_package_name.zip

Greetings!
As this phone has an MTK processor, we don't really have a recovery image, it's stored in the boot img I suppose. That link, you can download the official rom to this. DISCLAIMER: There are two types of ROMs listed here, one type is fastboot, that you need now in order to flash it through a computer for example. The another type is the recovery rom, that you can flash from recovery like a magisk package, or anything flashable zip, or with adb sideload.
https://mifirm.net
You should choose global if you are in Europe, but it's suitable for devices in the US or USA probably, ony feature differences are here between an EEA and Global rom.
Also, if you install pixel experience recovery, you can install the firmware by going into recovery, and do it via sideload. Or, you can try flashing the rom with TWRP (tutorial linked below), but then you won't able to install updates automatically.
One question: Did you checked in OEM unlocking in developer options before flashed PE?
Hope it helps!
Yeah, I did checked the oem unlocking. I think the reason why i failed because my bootloader probably updated and I forgot to check. You need bootloader version 12.5.16.0.RKLMIXM to install the pixel experience. Also thank for help
Greetings!
You can install the rom via adb sideload too. Put on some random recovery (see my tutorial here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/members/gurtnyi.11842195), and start adb sideload.

Can I do that on newer firmware or should I roll back to version 12.5.16.0.RKLMIXM? And if I roll back then I need to unlock device again?
I think you can. I've flashed it successfully on the latest version too. Currently I don't use PE but it was good for me.
Well, regarding to the unlock, it's not a big deal, you don't have to wait 168h again, once you've firstly unlocked your device, you can re-unlock it again, and again, no matter how many times, you don't have to wait a lot again.
But depending on how you rollback it,
I mean, with xiaomi flasher (i think that's its name) you can choose between clean all and lock, save userdata, and clean all, but in the first case, it'll lock back the bootloader. With SP flash tool (if you need, I can provide a link for the modified version of it, that doesn't require an auth file, but if fails, you need a python script, I can link that too), as I remember it won't lock back the device, but I'm not a 100% sure
Hope it helps!

Happy to hear that!
By the way, yes, pe recovery is better for sideloading, or eventually any not stock recovery. Also, if you install PE recovery, you can apply updates automatically, and in the future you won't need to flash it manually.
