How to create a based-ROM or a clean ROM

Hey guys, i want to create my own rom... I can't code and i want to create a based-ROM or a clean ROM.
So, how? How can I create a ROM without coding?

I can code, but have no idea of how to make a ROM... I don't think this to be something easy to do without the right aknowledge... Good luck, and if you find some guide or something just put it here to everyone of us can know how...

Your welcome, if you run into problems look at other custom roms to know how they set up the various maps inside the zipfile. That might help...well at least it helped me creating my rom.

Here is the Official Android 4.4 KitKat Update for the HTC One GPe, i am creating this thread fo hopefully spark some new Roms for the Sprint HTC One, THIS IS FOR DEVS ONLY, DO NOT FLASH THIS AS IS SINCE IT IS FOR THE GOOGLE PLAY EDITION AND MAJOR WORK WILL NEED TO BE DONE BEFORE IT WORKS
The ROM is NOWHERE NEAR READY FOR DAILY USE AND SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AS A PRE ALPHA..
I am Posting this as a Developer Resource therefore I am not responsible for any damage what-so-ever done to your phone, as with any ROM, you accept this risk.

Nice, thanks!
Ok...not for nothing, but if your post doesn't have to do with DEVELOPMENT, please keep it to the General section. If you want to tell each other off, tell each other to go away, or in any other way argue, please keep it to PM or non-development threads. If you look at your post and cannot answer "yes" to the question "will this help develop a ROM or Mod in ANY way", then it does not belong here.

Completely stock? So GPE? Thats the only one available for our phones. And it's pretty close to stock.

When you say stock, are you talking Sense-stock or Google-stock? That will definitely make a big difference. GPE won't have sense stuff in it.

Unfortunately, only option with that would be the Nocturnal if you're looking for "pre-done". You could always download both, diff them and see what was changed and undo whatever you don't like with the ROM. I often do that so that I can have all the features I want but with the base that I want. Currently I'm running SuperOneK that I played around with a little.
This is pure GPE, hasn't been updated in a minute though..

The main reason is because OEM Roms (specifically Touchwiz, Sense, Xperia UI) require heavily on OEM specific hardware, framework and kernel to function correctly.
Those OEM roms are closed source and without them, it will be very difficult for developers to write compatible driver, kernels (that function in conjunction with framework) to other samsung phones; yet alone a phone from a different manufacture.
In that regard, if a rom was ported over, the only functioning thing would probably be the touchscreen and nothing else.

Refer to this link. There are different ROMs for different users, they can' t start a rumble and go for the best. One man's ROM is another man's paperweight.

This is because there is always a person asking for best rom/kernel in here, which is tiring to manage. I suggest you do what I did, root your stock phone and use it for a while. In the meantime, read through threads on problems encountered by other users and take note of their solutions. There are plenty of threads on how to change from custom and stock ROMs, these are the ones you are more likely to receive support from.

If you don't want to brick your device and don't want to care to READ then please stay on a stock rom.
