I'm used to being able to select different sounds for different events but with the RM3s, I only have a "default" notification. Am I missing a setting somewhere to change this?;

hi there, can anyone helpme, i want change the default ringtone for calls and for sms's. Do i have to change something in the registry???
Thanks
Andres
No, go to start--settings--sounds and notifications--notifications--then choose which sound you want to change and change it. If you want to add your own ringtones then transfer it to the phone and find it using the above method...scroll down the list and click to use it.
Next time read the manual...it will tell you how to do certain things.
Settings > Sounds > Advanced
Choose the Notifications tab
Pick the Event - ie 'Messaging - New SMS Alert' and set 'Ring Tone' as you want.
If you have a custom Ringtone, you can simply use File Explorer and find the file... hold the stylus / finger on the file and choose 'Set As Ringtone'
Already did it but ringtones only works for Incoming Calls, not for New SMS
Solved, if you want to change for a custom ringtone for SMS, Email or something different of Phone Call all you have to do is copy and paste the custom ringotne on to c:\windows and then select it from: Settings > Sounds > Notifications tab.
Thanks to all for your support.

I have had the HTC One for over a week now but i still cant set the Notification to what i want, Even though it says in the settings that i have a Custom notification set, everytime i get a text it has defaulted to the "Lime" notification. Does anyone else have the same problem.

found out how to do it after lots of messing around! you have to go into messages, settings and set the default notification there.
I have changed my notification ringtone in both the Sound settings and the Personalize settings, and it still plays the default tone when I receive a text message, instead of the ringtone I have changed it to and applied. Any thoughts?
Go into the Messaging app, tap the 3-dot menu button & select Settings. Go into Notifications and under Notification sound, select the tone you want. If Default Notification is selected it uses the phone ringtone for calls. At least that's what mine is showing. I don't use the stock messaging app though so I never noticed which tone would actually play.

Hello!
I just went from an s8+ to s10+ (1tb if that mathers), i now only have one kind of notification sound for everything, on the s8, snapchat and facebook messenger had other sounds to tell them apart, now everyting just sounds the same...
Is there a way to change sound per app notification? I can't seem to find that setting..
Each notification sound is set inside each app. Or you can just go Settings > Notifications > click "show all" and change the dropdown menu to "All".
You can clikc on any app, and if it has a notification sound setting, you can change it in there too.
Step 1) Navigate: settings>>notifications>>see all>>appYouWant
Step 2) You'll see a list called categories with toggle switches with names like "General Notification" click on these, you can set individual tones in here.

...tried this and still no joy. In the app (either direct or thru 'settings' it SAYS I have the sound I want BUT I still get the default sound !!
I'm trying to set a custom notification sound for a specific app. First of all, it's somewhat buried in the settings menu, but I'm ok with that. The problem I'm having is that I set the custom sound, and I go back in to settings and confirm that it's changed, but I keep hearing the default notification sound (Popcorn) every time.
Is anyone else seeing this behavior?
Thanks -
