The bootloader on the N950U and N950U1 are locked and cannot be unlocked so you can't use twrp or cf autoroot.. There's ways to get root access but I don't know if your bootloader level version is supported you'll need to search that one..

Read this thread for root for SM-N950U/U1/W
But it's for bootloader v7 and below.

Is the newest Samsung Note 3 (AT&T US version) still rootable?

I'm about to buy a new Note 3 from AT&T with 2 year contract, is that particular version of the phone still rootable? Do I need to find a specific revision or stock rom version for it to be rootable? The reason why I ask is because I got a Fujitsu M532 a while back that was not rootable. Before I bought it I just briefly browsed the forums and it seems to be rootable, but I got a model/revision that was not rootable. If anyone bought a US AT&T Note 3 in the past month please let me know if you're able to root it. Thanks.

That just means I can't flash custom roms right? I just need to be able to get superuser rights and use Titanium Backup. Thanks.

You can still use titanium. The easiest way to root is to use kingo. It's a 1 click program that will not trip knox. You can also flash roms by using safestrap

I want a phablet, the S5 will probably be too small.

As far as I know, there hasn't been a HW revision on the note, only a couple of firmware updates. If you buy the Note 3 from a store today it will most likely have the MJ5 version installed, which is rootable via Kingo. A small patch was released in the past day that takes the phone to NB4. I have seen several posts from users that were able to re-root (again using Kingo) the NB4 baseband.
The Kit Kat 4.4.2 update is expected very soon. All bets are currently off on that one.

Just reading up on it and it's got a 5.1in screen. No bump in resolution but a 16mp cam and a fingerprint scanner. Other new cool thing is the hearbeat sensor in the camera... I'm glad I didn't wait for it...lol

Just got the Note 3 today. How do I find out which firmware version it has? I checked the about device screen, but it doesn't have the firmware information.
Edit: Just as my luck has it, I got an unrootable device again. I tried Kingo ROOT and it says Root Failed.
You should have MJ5. When I tried kingo it took several times before it finally rooted
Butch and his Big ol Note3
So I was able to root it on another computer yesterday. But the phone automatically updated itself to NB4! ****!!! Now I lost root access. I'm going have to wait for NB4 to be cracked. But is there a way to disable automatic firmware updates? Thanks.
Edit: I tried rooting again with Kingo on the computer that was able to root it yesterday, however Kingo says rooting failed. Can I downgrade it back to MJ7? Or does anyone offers a downgrading service like for PS3? Thanks.

Need help with root on S5 (AT&T)

I am having trouble rooting my S5 (SM-G900A) . I tried using the Towelroot method with the different codes, it always said that the phone is currently not supported. Since I really don't know that much about rooting, it would reaally be helpful for me to have an easy-to-understand explanaition on how to get this thing rooted.
Root S5 At&T
Hi, I have the same problem, I have an S5 from ATT with lollipop 5.0, I tried to root it and now is showing me a notification that says that I have to take the phone to an ATT center to undo whatever was done, but no root, if you had any help with this topic please letme know, thank you
If you have lollipop installed, there is no root method and no way to downgrade. Boot loader is locked down like fort Knox as well. Not many devs use this 2 year old phone anymore.
super duper easy root

You can't flash back. If you have taken the 5.0 or later update, THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY TO ROOT OR DOWNGRADE CURRENTLY.

I want to do the following:
1- Root the phone without loosing the unlock
2- Update to Android 5
3- Replace the OS by unbranded android, ideally also get rid of the samsung bloatware as well.
Is it possible? I Spend 8 hours already looking for answers, but none f them apply to my specs.
Many thanks

Actually Giefroot works on any device below 5.0 . Proof: https://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2014-7911 ( this is one of the exploits that Giefroot uses.)

You can't do the OTA update anymore because its not available anymore. But you could download the OTA update file and sideload it.

1. Yes, you don't need the OTA because you are already on NG3 so just start from step 2.
It works! Thanks so much. Now I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy S5 on running Android 4.4.2. Baseband G900AUCU2ANG3. Phone was originally from AT&T, unlocked and rooted, currently being used on T-Mobile.
1- How do I upgrade to a current Android version?
2- How can I remove all AT&T bloatware and have an unbranded phone?
Thanks.

Request help in rooting ATT Note 3

Hello, I have a ATT Note 3 Android 4.4.4 , (baseband version N900AUCUDNL1), (Kernel 3.4.0-3032228). I followed the directions of each rooting method. I have ran Kingo root method and ran Odin v.309 and v.3.10 root method several times and both these rooting methods have FAILED. Can anyone please help and advise me on how to root and install a recovery on this device. I appreciate any help.
I'm not 100% sure but I believe you need to be on NC2 in order to root.

Towleroot doesn't work on 4.4.4 you need to back date to 4.4.2 kk then towleroot will work install busybox and j. Rummy root checker, safestrap 3.75 install ST mind you it will say not active until you install a custom rom in one of the slots I believe you can just activate slot one without installing a rom and it'll put safestrap in a active State. Droidveiws is a good place to get the 4.4.2 firmware get the AP BL CP files the install via doing 3.09 it's simple. Me personally I like kk better than lollipop.

Is there full bootloader unlock/root available for the ATT S6?

This is one of two phones I'm looking to buy after work today to replace the Verizon S5 I broke last night. Wanting to make sure whatever I get can be bootloader unlocked and fully rooted, otherwise I'm just getting another S5 so I can continue using CM ROM.
Thanks!
i think yes following this steps
1-root it using pinpong root
2-unlock the boot loader using ADB on pc
3-install twrp
4-install SU
watch the video it did it with a note 4

No.
No bootloader unlock at all.
Therefore no non stock based custom roms.
Root is available via ping-pong on very early lollipop builds, but unless you specifically know you are getting an old, non updated device, it's not likely this will be an option. Some newer builds of lollipop can be rooted by a tethered method. There is a root method for some MM builds. Think one is under development that has yet to be confirmed or released for N.
Very strongly do not recommend ATT version of this device if rooting and custom ROM's are important to you.
If you're looking at an international, rather than att model, then you're in the wrong forum.

South Korean P9 Plus Nougat Update

Hello!
The main reason I picked the Huawei P9 Plus was that I had read online that Nougat was coming to the P9 Plus. But now, people have had it since March and I still don't have it! lol
So I've got a couple of questions about trying to install it manually.
1) South Korean banking apps quit working if they detect that you have root access. Is there a manual install method that doesn't require root or a way to hide root access from them?
2) Can I install the European update (the only one I seem to be able to find online) on a South Korean phone? I've got the VIE-L09 and I'm currently running VIE-L09C627B140.
The latest for C627 is B140 in Firmware Finder.
You can debrand your phone to get an European firmware. You will find guides here on XDA.

I managed to install twrp after flashing the c432 rom following this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/guide-debranding-to-c432-updating-to-t3551523. with the hybrid rom of c900, you can install twrp with SRKTool. After that, you can flash anything you want.
