Hi,
I have a rog phone and the Mobile Desktop Dock, I know that it is not possible to put the rog phone with the case inside the dock, but I was looking for a sort of workaround to this problem, there is a kind of extension for the cable or some magic trick to to use the dock without removing the case?
Thank you

Hi All,
Is anyone aware of a dock for Android phones, similar to the laptop docks. It should be able to charge, provide HDMI and sound output. And also a port to connect a Mass storage device.
This is possible with the USB OTG. But I am not sure about the drivers for the HDMI out or audio out. Is there any place where we can find android drivers for these devices.
Thank you.
I just picked up the "multimedia" dock straight from Samsung, and really all it does is charge the phone. No access to the headphone jack as it becomes blocked, and as far as I know, there is no HDMI output for my NS4G. Granted, it does look nice with the phone docked, and it does everything I need it to do anyway - charge the phone and make it into a nice desktop clock. $17 on eBay in case you are interested. Let us know if you manage to find what you are looking for. Would be nice to find out I can do HDMI out after all.
USB/charging dock
As far as I know, you won't find any dock with HDMI or sound support for the Nexus S. All docks for this device do exactly the same thing, they only charge, and mount the SD when connected to a PC. You can find two or three different models on ebay for 20 or 30 dollars.

I would really love a USB dock/ HDMI adapter for the Nexus S too. I watch stuff i dloaded from the internet on it all the time and i would love to be able to connect it to the big screen
Is there any way to use pen drives directly with nexus s, like it does in nokia n8
Hello all,
Long time lurker but never got around to posting. Never felt I had anything interesting to contribute like so many do here. Wasn't sure if to post in one of the other threads having to do with the smart dock or just start a new one. Mods please feel free to move if you need to.
So, my smart dock finally arrived and I was so excited to get everything up and running. Initially, I couldn't get the HDMI-out to work although my Logitech K400 keyboard was working fine (got a keyboard/mouse connected notification). I unroot, factory reset and still nothing. Then I thought about maybe removing my case (Case-Mate Pop!) as I read someone had that issue. What do you know, it works now.
I hate having my phone without a case and having to remove the case every time I want to dock so I started to think of possible workarounds:
1) find where case is preventing dock form making proper connection and modify it (cut)
2) modify dock (again, cut) but I rather leave that as a worst case as I just paid $100 for this bad boy
3) look for a micro usb female to micro usb male adapter and put that on dock and then have phone sit on that
4) find another case that will fit
Right now, I'm really looking into option #3. I've found some some small adapters that I think would work fine. Only thing is, all of these adapters are 5 pin to 11 pin. Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of what I'm trying to do? Anyone know where I can find a straight adapter that does not convert anything, 11 to 11 pin. Any other ideas/suggestions?
If anything, just a heads up for anyone planning to get a smart dock and owns the Case-Mate Pop! case.
Thanks all!
Yea ran in to this problem. If you look close at the connection of the smart dock you will see its slightly different than a micro usb. That's a male mhl connection sticking out. Has 11pins and micro usb 5 pin.
I have vigorously searched for the mhl male or female parts to make a spacer or extension cable. Only thus that exists are mhl to hdmi cables and replacement sockets for the phone...... Look for a case unless you want to hack a mod. In that case step in line few of us are working on that.
I got a wireless charger for my nighttable, but I like to have a dock near my desktop computer to aid in file transfers. Is there an upright, portrait-mode dock that anyone can recommend that will fit the G2 safely?

Are you on VZW? The tylt vu does wireless charging great and you can use the wireless storage function.
Yeah this is for VZW. That's actually the charger I got for my nightable, but wanted something more reliable/faster for transfering files near my desktop. I use wireless storage, and while it can transfer songs, I assumed it'd be slower than MTP for a lot of things, maybe I'm wrong. Also, the wireless storage is a LITTLE buggy in that I've had it die in the middle of a transfer when I'm sitting right next to my router. The app would be gone and I'd have to restart wireless storage.
I need a docking station for my PC.
It should be able to charge the Phone / connect it to a PC or connect it to a external harddrive.
I use the Spigen Neo Hybrid Case so it should with it..
I hope you can help me to find one..
Kind Regards
Nils
like the title said, i was just wondering so are there any possibilities of a USB C wireless charging case or receiver strip for USB C
since it was never mention by anyone *from my search results*
Yeah, a wireless charging case could work. It would need a USB-C connector, no huge thing AFAIK.
However, I personally don't use a case on my phones, I prefer "nearly naked" (ie - a skin).
I'd like to see a good quality third-party receiver coil that I could install inside the back cover and that wouldn't interfere with the fingerprint scanner - but I expect that there just won't be enough room in there.
