halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to

performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.

Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from CodeAuroraForums (CAF),
minor components of AOSP-CAF, featuring only extremely minor set of components
from CyanogenMod (CM) which have been added to source in order to allow for
better cross-device compatibility.

A huge thanks goes to those behind the CodeAuroraForums (CAF), the developers
behind the AOSP-CAF project and the CyanogenMod organisation and all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are

Minor bugs
I see some bugs:
1) not normaly work dpi change in settings, need manually change dpi in build.prop
2) not works setting of button "menu", i fix it through xposed and gravitybox. I change setting for button "recent apps" 0_o, and menu button has work (fix keylayout?)
3) some setting items not translated into russian
Please fix it, your rom is very fast and stability

On first sim slot I have only 3g, on second sim slot lte,

It's the only ROM where I have not-buggy 4G+ network data. Every CM based ROM have problems with LTE/LTE+ (Orensot).
But there's one bug... GravityBox and SIM settings don't work properly - their settings often reset to defaults after reboot. Other AOSP ROMs (like Slim) work good with them.
I've installed your ROM with all wipes after full reinstalling to Global Stable via Fastboot, so it was clean installation. But ROM interface have many small bugs.
So please keep up the development!

What is Code Aurora Forums ?Code Aurora Forum (CAF) is a consortium of companies with projects serving the mobile wireless industry. Flash the GApps before the first boot. If not, a clean flash is recommended.

Flashing and updatingAOSP-CAF clean install :
- (Optional) Wipe the data & cache (Backup to make sure not to loose data)

- Flash the AOSP-CAF 6.0.1 ROM zip from the Recovery
- (Optional) Flash the GApps to have the Google Applications

AOSP-CAF update / upgrade :
- (Information) Don't wipe anything unless you want to

The security patch is a lil older, don't you think.

What about Goodix FP sensor?? Is it working on this ROM?? Any bugs regarding like 2% battery bug, front camera issue present on this ROM??

Volte is not supported in any cm based ROMs. As fast food sensor goes if you have the fpc one then it should be fine. Don't know why WhatsApp keeps crashing for me.

Thanks to Shivam Kumar Jha,this Custom ROM for Redmi Note 3 SD is Working Great with Gapps [i flashed Nano Gapps] ,no Force close apps ,only thing VoLTE is Not working and finger print scanner for unlock screen will work most of time and some times it wont work

I have to report two bugs:The first it's the -2% bug,the second is when turned off and put to charging but doesn't appear the classic charging screen

How much CAF is in this AOSP?
What exactly comes to this ROM from CAF? Audio, Camera libs?

Everything works perfectly, except VoLTE. I can live with it for the sake of AOSP clean rom. Many many thanks to the Dev.

Although you usually can dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM has the same Android version, it is not guaranteed. In case of serious
crashes please do a clean flash.
You can dirty flash halogenOS 7 (Nougat) over halogenOS 6 (Marshmallow)
without any problems. Although we can't promise that it will work for you,
we can tell you that this has been tested. In fact, @xdvs23 did a dirty flash of
XOS 7 over XOS 6 and has no problems.
If you get app crashes after dirty flashing over XOS 6 or another ROM, please just
clear the app data of those apps, and it should work fine then.

How to update the ROM:

Reboot into TWRP (Please use official TWRP)
Do not wipe anything
Flash the ROM

Reboot
You don't need to wipe Cache/Dalvik.
You don't need to flash gapps again. There is some magic going on which keeps your GApps. Just make sure that you don't wipe system before flashing.
You don't need more than 5 minutes.
How to install the ROM for the first time:

Reboot into TWRP (Please use official TWRP)
Wipe system, data and cache (If you want to try a dirty flash, dont wipe anything)

Can you release the kernel in a seperate anykernel zip for use with other roms?
I'm aware I can just flash the boot.omg but some kernels are a bit more complex than that.

Mate, you know from where the commits were cherry-picked and isn't from official LineageOS kernel so no it's not 100% official LineageOS kernel, from this commit onwards all the commits aren't present in stock LineageOS kernel so again, NO, it's not 100% official LineageOS kernel.

I don't see much importance in random generation nor from entropy. Certainly not enough to drift away from which is maintained good for it. One more thing rule is use RT timers when ever you can (& do like ZOL rules). Who wants to work on unified kernel & tree for a device is OK by me rest we don't really need.

Lol that's not the point here, you like it or not isn't the thing here, the point is that the kernel baked into this rom isn't stock LineageOS kernel, you can think whatever you want, use it or not but certainly this kernel is different from LineageOS one, that's what's matters in this.

Migration from another ROM
To clean install this ROM, do we have to select 'format data' option in TWRP or just Wipe data,cache and System ?
And do we need to flash twrp installer inbetween flashing ROM file and Gapps ?(Or is custom recovery already built-in?)

My phone stolen, grab my old A1 ..found this rom has vanila variants, grab NanodroidMicroG ....daank its perfect, i dont see much custom kernel for this device??

Dear Friend,
To avoid unnecessary problems, clean install should be performed always.
1. Format Data/Factory reset
2. Wipe System/Data/Dalvik/Internal
3. Follow your ROM installation process...

This rom seems great! But after installing the rom, my phones fast charging isn't working. Any solutions?

Is it stable build? What are the known issues?
Also I'm unable to find the rom for MI A1 since there's no device mentioned. Which one to download?

Picked this rom for giving second life to my GF phone , so far everything works like a charm!

Undoubtedly the best Android rom! Thank you very much for bringing it official.
