Hi--I managed to get Nougat B361 on my EVA-L29C636 and I cannot get scrolling to work at all on my device. I cannot even get to the Settings app on my device. The phone calling works and wifi but that is about all so my device is kind of useless. I've noticed that there are rollback packages for the EVA-L09 and EVA-L19 devices (middle east and Russian) but I have not seen anything for C636. Does anyone have any advice on how to get back to Marshmallow B168 or B191?
Thank you in advance for any info!

Try upgrade to B389 using Firmware Finder. Make sure to use Proxy method and upgrade with the FULL firmware.

I wish I could do that, but I've borked my P9 so badly with the OTA B361 that I have NO scrolling function to even set the Proxy in my Wi-Fi settings. I can open apps but cannot do much more. If I long press on my Wi-Fi connection, nothing opens so I cannot even enter "local host" etc. I did manage to download the B389 package using the PC version of Firmware Finder and then transferring it to my SD card then "dload" ing it, but that did not work. I am now looking for suggestions on how to get back to Marshmallow and B191 which was working well on my device. It all started with that OTA B361 update which I had waited SO LONG for and it turns out I would have been better off without it.
Really appreciate the suggestion tho! What would be the procedure to rollback to B191 if there is any way?

There is Rollback Package for EVA-L29 Middle East and Russia. It should work in C636 Asia to because they turn your phone to C900B300 after the Rollback.
But u must find a FULL MM Firmware to C636 to downgrade with.

Yes, I saw that rollback package but I was afraid to use it (since I have C636, but I have nothing to lose now anyway I guess. I have the full B168 package so maybe I'll give it a try. Thanks again! I'll post here again with the outcome when I get a chance. Much appreciated.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU for that link and for your excellent suggestion. The Russian Rollback worked perfectly I am now back on B191 and all is good! I live in Canada and my stepdaughter has a Chinese sim card (active) and when I plug that in my P9, I immediately get an OTA update notice to B361 which borked my phone when I let it install. I am tempted to try another update (this time on a clean system) to see if it works better. At least now, thanks to you, I know how to get back to Marshmallow.

Nice to hear it worked.
The only way to get OTA to C636 is if u have a Asian simcard.
I dont know why the OTA messed up your phone but it should have been ok.
How large is the OTA? It should be over 1gb since u go from MM to Nougat, if the OTA is something like 500mb then something is wrong.
Edit:
If i upgrade manually to B361 u must find a Firmware that is FullOTA-MF-PV

Hope you had a great sleep. Just to finish up on this thread: I tried to download and install the B361 OTA again. It installed fine but again I had no scrolling (up,down, left, right - nothing). Phone and wifi both work as does bluetooth. An update to B389 is shown in Firmware Finder but I still have no control to download and install by proxy because I cannot change the properties of the wifi network. So I can't check to see if that update would improve anything (I highly doubt that it would anyway). So, thanks to Mostar088, I am easily able to get back to B191 and use my phone again . Conclusion is that B361 just does not work on EVA-L29C636 in case anyone else reads this. Once again, a big Thank You to Mostar088. I know how important it is to have experienced users on these forums and the help they can offer. I am a contributor on Crackberry.com mostly for the dying BB10 and am just learning android. I have a loooooong road ahead of me.

Sounds like the OTA is corrupt somehow, never heard about this problem?
It's a pitty u cant upgrade to Nougat, u get a whole new phone with. Nougat, it's so much better.
If u upgrade with B361 OTA u could try to use the DNS method in Firmware Finder pc version and try to upgrade to B389 with HiSuite on the pc?
U need to follow the guide and change the DNS in Router Settings and then connect the phone to HiSuite and try to upgrade.

Thought that I better try the DNS method since you mentioned it. Results were as I expected, sadly. Once again, the OS update (B389) did install using this method, but again, scrolling was non-existant. So, back I go to B190. Nougat just does not work on my EVA-L29C636. Thanks again for the suggestions.

No--no warranty and I called Huawei Canada but since this device was never available in Canada, they will not even look at it. Maybe if I go back to Hong Kong (where it was purchased) some day lol.
I tried to unlock my OEM BOOTLOADER UNLOCK option by waiting 168 hours withour rebooting my phone and still didn't get that option. I read somewhere to downgrade back to DECEMBER 7.1 NOUGAT release and then wait for 168 hours for OEM UNLOCK option to be available. When I tried downgrading, I got this option. Does anyone have any proper idea or solution for this fix?

If you upgraded your bootloader you can not go back.
I would flash different build and wait 168.
Example once you update example once go to xx1 to xx2 you can only flash xx2 roms.
I have many different roms with out issue.
When updating I remove my sim card.

ok then suggest me some official yet FLASHABLE rom for my device. I am pasting my current build and rom version. I downloaded the SAUDI ARABIAN version as I am in KSA and bought the phone from here. But downgrade didnt go well. Today I updated to the latest security update which was pending for the last 3 days. I think its some MAY UPDATE. Anyhow I am pasting my ROM version. Kindly suggest me the new official rom so I can flash it all the way and wait 168 hours as per your suggestion and check if OEM UNLOCK option appears or no. By the way I downloaded the official rom from www.updato.com
I need your assistance to learn these XX2 XX1 and baseband issues as I have switched to Samsung phones after 5 years and seems like whole lot has changed ever since and I also happen to forgot the Samsung way of rooting and ****. In the image where I can find XX2 or XX1 of my own Rom version? Its saying XXU2 and ARE1 for BASEBAND and ARE2 for BUILD NUMBER.. You meant XX2 = XXU2 ? As I dont see any XX2 directly in my Phone ROM info.
Very simply once you update to xx2 you can't go back to xx1 these are example.
I have updated to other stock roms and I did update xx2 and update so I can update to Oreo when it comes available .
Never had any problems with unlocking bootloader.
Before doing this like root ect I would read what I have posted many many times before how root this phone.

With all due respect, your English seems to be a lil bit poor or may be you wrote it too fast, as I didnt understand somethings you said. Check your comment again. Like for example what do you mean to say to me by telling that you updated your ROM 3 times:
"I have updated to other stock roms and I did update xx2 and update so I can update to Oreo when it comes available "
Anyways, I have download and Flashed 1 latest XX2 KSA ROM 2 days ago and I am waiting for 168 hours to complete and see if OEM UNLOCK appears or not. I haven't inserted my sim Since this FLASH as you said so not to insert the sim. If this ROM doesn't work out for me then suggest me any EUROPEAN or US or other ASIAN XX2 ROM which you have FLASHED and used and got yourself the OEM UNLOCK option available.
Once you been locked out and you have reflash stock and white data.
You will need to insert sim card I believe.
When I got my phone I did not put sim card in I booted it and check allow oem unlocking in development section.
I went to download mode flashed TWRP.
Booted to TWRP reformat then from other sdcard I flash custom kernelv1 and root.
I have never been locked out ever.

Ok I get it. You saying that when you bought your phone, your OEM UNLOCK option was already present. Right? Can you do me 1 small favor? Can you tell me the exact ROM VERSION, which COUNTRY ROM and what latest build/update version of the ROM you are having on your phone? I will download exactly the same like yours and then check if I get the OEM UNLOCK option.

Then guide me how to modify the CSC for my A730F. And what is this VOLTE?
On HONG KONG note, I am going to download the HONG KONG ROM Version. Which Version should I download. I mean now I understand the XX1 and XX2 thing very well, but I mean there are many builds/month based releases even in XX2 ROMS. So should I download the most recent VERSION like MAY 2018 HONGKONG XX2 release or some months prior ??? I am pasting screenshot of 2 HongKong VER RELEASES. Let me know which 1 to FLASH. And should I flash using only AP or also do CSC because I am now having only 16GB total whereas my phone is 64GB. I read somewhere that I have to flash using CSC coz its going to refresh the partition tables and cra_p.....

Everyone in this thread says yes, not sure why you're doubting it.
The dual sim model uses F firmware and shows F in settings, it's normal. It's just an F model really with 2 sims.
Ok thank you all, i was not sure because the "root away" post, though he meant the chance of rooting is away. Thank you all, i will root now ?
in dev options, can you still see OEM unlock?
its toggled on?
then just root.

I bought a new Galaxy Note 9 online about a month ago (which I'm slowly starting to regret because of this issue), and I'm trying to upgrade it to Android 10. However, the Model Number and the Baseband version says SM-N960F/DS and N960NKOU3ASG1. After searching online for a while, I found a forum post from here two months that talks about my exact problem: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/help/help-android-10-update-note-9-t4047729 which basically says to flash the firmware via Odin.
However, I'm having some doubts of whether it is the correct firmware of not, though this could be due to having problems with Sammobile for a long time. When I talked with one of the admins of Sammobile, he said that my phone has a "Custom ROM"/"Modded firmware" and to ask "the procedures on XDA where you downloaded the Custom Rom from "Ketan"... " This is the forum discussion I had with him, along with images of my phone showing the software info: https://www.sammobile.com/forum/threads/45917-download-link-for-firmware-not-working
If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it

It flashed with a custom rom. I have seen so many F versions with this issue. You should be able to factory reset then use Phone Info app. Do a refurbishment check with the app and also check what firmware. Find out what model and region..get the firmware and flash with odin. Whenever I have purchased a device off line I always ask seller to send a pic of the software screen.

I'll do the factory reset tomorrow, its getting late in my time, and I have to sleep early cause I work as retail morning shift.
The app that you're talking about is Phone Info, made by uax.io correct? The phone I'm sure is brand new because I remember discussing it with my sister and talking about just getting a brand new phone and not wanting to deal with returning it due to the current pandemic situation. The big problem I seem to have is that I'm not sure exactly what firmware I should use, since the Sammobile admin said my phone is using a mix.

Hi Guys,
I have a galaxy note 9 N960F/DS model which was rooted with magisk on android pie.
i flashed the android 10 Q rom via odin and everything was fine except i didn't have any network and my IMEI status was NG. While the IMEI number was ok for both sims.
I didn't have much time to research so i got it fixed from a shop.
Now i want to know a few things.
1) can i somehow update the firmware without having to go through all the root process and having to patch certificate ?
2) if i backup this rom and incase i get a IMEI NG problem will i be able to just restore the rom ?? or will i have to patch the certificates again ??
3) is there any other workaround of patching certificate ?? are there patched modems available for note 9 ???
4)which is the best tool to patch certificate ??
thanks in advance

ok sorry i'll explain ... i have a note 9 N960F and it is rooted with magisk on android 9 PIE.
i flashed it with android 10 Q with Odin and i had the not registered on network error and IMEI status was NG.
i got it fixed from a shop because i didn;t have time to reseach. but now i want to know more about this problems and how it can be fixed.
I know that i need to patch certificates to get this fixed. But what i want to know:
1) can i somehow update the firmware without having to go through all the root process and having to patch certificate ?
2) if i backup this rom and incase i get a IMEI NG problem will i be able to just restore the rom ?? or will i have to patch the certificates again ??
3) is there any other workaround of patching certificate ?? are there patched modems available for note 9 ???
4)which is the best tool to patch certificate ??
Thanks
