I can get one of my banking apps only working on my rooted Samsung Galaxy S6 if i use Magisk Hide.
But after a recent app update (the banking app, not Magisk), it will not be hidden by Magisk after a reboot even if it's still selected in Magisk Hide.
Solution is to untick the hide function for this app and then retick it in Magisk Hide. From then on the app is hidden again.
Any workaround so i can get it hidden permanently again?

Hi all,
I am using Magisk 19.5 (Canary), with EdXposed.
Magisk Manager is hidden, Magisk Hide is set for the app, and SafetyPatch module is installed - SafetyNet passes.
But my banking app (PostFinance) is still detecting root (I also tried some Xposed modules to hide root, like RootCloak etc.. But no success).. I have no clue about how root is detected. Anyways, when I reboot in "Core Only Mode", the banking app starts properly.
Now my question is, if it would be possible to quickly reboot the device only once in Core Only Mode (shortcut, switch or so) to use the banking app and then reboot to recovery (normal) again? Or has anyone an idea on how to effectively hide root from this app?
Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Exynos, rooted stock ROM.
Thanks.

If it's working in core mode that means one of your modules is interfering with the banking app...

Thanks.. I uninstalled all modules, except Riru Core and EdXposed.. Still fails to open.. So.. The only option then would be a quick reboot to "Core Only Mode" solution I guess..

You could try to add your banking app to the EdXposed blacklist

Ive got:
Galaxy s5
Lineage 18.1
Magisk 23.0.
Ive turned on magisk hide in settings.
Ive ticked M&S Bank (and turned on the two toggles in it).
Ive ticked Google Play Services (and turned on the 10 toggles in it).
Check Safetynet works and passes all ok.
The M&S bank app says it wont work on rooted phones.
This is the 1st banking app ive tried on this.
Do i need to provide any more information?
Is there anything else i can do or anything i am doing wrong?
thanks
In Magisk settings you have the option to hide the Magisk app. When you check this option, the apk will appear under another name such as "settings" or "manager". After doing this, wipe storage or uninstall and reinstall the Bank app. Some apps detect root by simply checking an app with the name Magisk among those installed. Don't install the app on external storage or Magisk hide won't work (at least in my case).
hi
thanks for the reply. ill try and re insatll the banking app and see if that works
Hello, a while ago I hid Magisk from an application with Magisk Hide and the option "hide the Magisk app". Now I have those two options already disabled but every time an application asks me for root, magisk warns that an application is hiding it and does not let me grant it, I have to go to its list and do it from there. How can I remove that error?
Sounds like you have an app that's creating an overlay and that could be a security issue when granting root. Therefore the Magisk app won't allow you to grant root through the pop-up. This security feature can be disabled in the app settings; it's called Tapjacking protection.
Thanks, that was it, it already works fine
Hi there,
i used Magisk with a hidden Magisk Manager (As "Settings" in the app drawer) and i got a update notification about a new Magisk version. I updated and afterwards i read Magisk Manager is dead and isn't used anymore. When i now click on "Settings" it force closes and i can't open Magisk. What can i do now?
Device is a Oneplus 7t Pro with Stock rom.
Thanks
Try reinstalling magisk through recovery. Works for me on my Pixel 3 running LOS18. 1. Just flash the magisk zip through twrp or whatever you have.
Shouldn't be necessary to hide the magisk app. I have Gpay etc working nicely with the magisk app not hidden. Unless of course there's some other app you're running that won't work without magisk being hidden?
Okay i try to reinstall it but i think i'll wait for Android 12 to come and then start from scratch. Magisk Hide or at least hiding root is necessary for my banking app.
Same happened to me. Oneplus 8T with Android 11.
Hello,
I've rooted my p7, how am i supposed to pass safety net?
I've used pixelflasher to root, install magisk and update.
In magisk, I've tried many times to set the "Google Play service" in the exclusion list, it always get uncheck.
I've installed the safety net fix in magisk.
Be sure to check play service, wallet... And empty their cache, all that in airplane mode and reboot.
But still... Play service become uncheck on exclude list and Google Play direct certified my device... Bank apps didn't work ...
What is different with the p7 than the p5?
My p5 is easy to do all that, i can flash the modified boot from magisk easily, which can't be done in cmd with the p7, only pixelflasher have been able to
Hide Magisk, use Zygisk denylist and Displax's universal safetynet fix.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...nlock-bootloader-pass-safetynet-more.4505353/
1. Install displax's safetynetfix
2. Hide Magisk
3. Enable Zygisk
4. Enforce DenyList
5. Configure DenyList and check all your required apps (clear storage for apps already installed)
6. Install AirFrozen
7. Freeze Magisk in AirFrozen and now your banking apps should work fine

I did like this but didn't use AirFrozen. I hid Magisk from within Magisk and my banking apps work fine and I'm device certified. Also, when using DenyList I expanded all the Google Play apps and made sure all the subcomponents were selected rather than just the one's picked by default. Accepted my choices with the arrow at the top of the screen rather than the nav button which seemed sometimes to not save my choices. YMMV.

v2.3.1-mod_2.0 is required. Older version won't pass device integrity.
Hid magisk, enabled zygisk and denylist, but didn't need to deny any google apps. No shamiko either.
Use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gr.nikolasspyr.integritycheck to confirm you pass both device and basic integrity.
Still have L1 too

I had to use AirFrozen for two of my banking apps. Rest were fine. So in case any banking app doesn't work, you know what to do.
