I though it was (from Fastboot mode):

Are you really really sure the twrp image is the right size?
Mauronofrio's one is exactly 81920 KB, not 98304 KB.
Also the official TWRP has the same size, AFAIK.
I would re-download it and maybe checksum it.

Unable to Flash Recovery (Tried TWRP and Orangefox)

It would seem that for me Flashing the TWRP Recovery (or any other, tried Orangefox too) doesn't work. I would really appreciate some input on this.
Here's some info:
- Redmi 4
- MIUI 10.2 | Stable // 10.2.2.0(MBECNXM)
- Android version 6.0.1
- Android Security Patch level 2018-04-01
- Unlocked the Phone (Successfully)
- Booted into fastboot
- used "fastboot flash recovery <filename>.img" to flash the twrp image (also tried older versions of the twrp image; also tried the orange fox recovery image)
It gives me the following output:
Code:
C:\Minimal ADB and Fastboot> fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Sending 'recovery' (36040 KB) OKAY [ 1.002s]
Writing 'recovery' OKAY [ 0.977s]
Finished. Total time: 2.046s
- I proceed to use "fastboot boot twrp.img"
It gives me the following output:
Code:
C:\Minimal ADB and Fastboot> fastboot boot twrp.img
Sending 'boot.img' (36040 KB) OKAY [ 1.001s]
Booting FAILED (remote: 'dtb not found')
fastboot: error: Command failed
Now unto the errors / things I've tried:
- If I try to just use "fastboot reboot" -> it proceeds to eternally get stuck on the "mi.com" loading screen
- If I try to use the "standard" power off > Power + Vol Up -> The phone boots into the Chinese interface which is not TWRP (yellow big buttons, bottom button is blue) -> I change the language to english, hit "Recovery" and it yet again either stays stuck or boots into Mi 3.0 Recovery
I have tried all TWRP Santoni versions currently officially available on the official TWRP site.
All give me the same error if I try to boot the recovery direclty through fastboot as seen above: "(remote: dtb not found)"
can anyone please help me with this?
Flash latest stock ROM with fastboot first without re locking bootloader, boot into it, and then flash twrp 3.2.3-1 official from fastboot again, and then disconnect the phone and reboot into recovery with vol up + down + power button and ensure that you have downloaded lazyflasher into your phone storage, and after booting twrp, flash lazyflasher, clear cache and reboot system. Done!

Deleted boot.img

I accidently deleted my boot.img on mi Mi 9 Lite (Mi CC9) by doing: fastboot boot "random file". What can I do now?
Can Someone please send me their boot.img or a link?

Bootloader unlocked/locked?
Maybe it is better to flash the whole system through fastboot or mi flash tool.
..
It didn't work with the tool but I reflashed twrp and flashed the stock miui rom from there and it worked. Thank you anyway.
Download Fastboot rom and extract, then copy system.img to fastboot folder and also recovery, boot.img too...
Open fastboot:
Type: fastboot format system
Type: Fastboot flash boot boot.img version that you have when you brick device
Type: Fastboot flash system system.img
Type: Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img use wzsx1050 3.3.1-0709 version
Type :Fastboot boot recovery.img and device should reboot in recovery, without Booting FAILED (remote: 'Failed to load/authenticate boot image: Load Error')

Question How to install custom recovery TWRP?

I searched a lot of articles all flashed to the recovery partition
Code:
>fastboot flash recovery boot_twrp_UNOFFICIAL.img
Sending 'recovery' (65536 KB) OKAY [ 2.062s]
Writing 'recovery' FAILED (remote: 'This partition doesn't exist')
fastboot: error: Command failed
I found some information that Android 11 uses Virtual A/B
Do I need to modify boot.img to install custom recovery in Android 11?

I use a type-c hub to connect a wireless mouse and it works
I used this command and it didn’t work normally, it will enter the system normally after restart

>fastboot boot images\boot_twrp_UNOFFICIAL.img
Sending 'boot.img' (65536 KB) OKAY [ 1.735s]
Booting FAILED (Status read failed (Too many links))
fastboot: error: Command failed
This command can start to TWRP but cannot install it
Code:
>fastboot flash boot_b images\boot_twrp_UNOFFICIAL.img

This work for sure
This topic is great, but I'm afraid many of us would totally miss the information in here, do anyone has the will to turn the information here into a little "how to TWRP" guide as a topic here? That would be awesome!
My device is Redmi Note 10 5G China and the EEA rom flashed. Using twrp will get stuck in the logo and cannot enter.
Before that, I can start twrp using China rom. I'm still looking for reasons
----------
P.S. Does anyone know how to compile twrp for Android 11? I need a little help

i suggest for now stay on stock recovery. you can root phone installing magisk via fastboot. and the only way to try custom rom is flashing the gsi ported generic rom. the nippon gsi telefram group have a lot of gsi. but my advice is wait miu13 update. most of gsi have audio incompatibility. but if you like aosp roms this is the only way. mtk full custom roms for our device dont exist

Question Flashing TWRP doesn't work (Xiaomi Redmi 9t)

Hello,
After unlock his bootloader, I try to install TWRP recovery on my smartphone with :
Bash:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Bash:
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
But he reboot always on the fastboot mode when I push simultaneously on power and volume + and when I don't push on any button.
I use these file :
twrp.img
vbmeta.img
Thanks for your help .
TWRP by brigudav- i flashed only twrp renamed to recovery.img and patched os via that stock recovery will not back.
Rename the file change nothing to me.
As information, when I try in try
Bash:
fastboot boot recovery.img
i get :
Bash:
FAILED (remote: unknown command)
in fastboot
and
Bash:

I've test lineage recovery and that's the same : impossible to boot on other recovery except the stock MI-Recovery 3.0 .
I get the exactly same errorwhile try booting twrp.img is there no custom recovery for lime that works?

You are right, I try to flash a unofficial TWRP that I found at this thread and now I've just a black screen when I boot on it but I can now boot on the OS with this "recovery".
Finally, I've found this one on this thread who works .

fastboot: usage: unknown reboot target recovery problem on RMX2020

I'm having trouble to flash recovery image to my device. I followed all the step and rooted the device. But when I'm trying to lash my device into recovery image it's giving me this error message fastboot: usage: unknown reboot target recovery. I'm doing it from Ubuntu I've installed
Code:
Android Debug Bridge version 1.0.39
Version 1:8.1.0+r23-5ubuntu2
fastboot version 1:8.1.0+r23-5ubuntu2
And following this instructions
Code:
fastboot --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot recovery
Bro same, did you solve it?
