Matte Case Review

I recently ordered a Matte TPU case from a seller on ebay in Hong Kong. I like giving my phone some color on occasion but nothing overbearing or ugly. I dont like the clearish TPU cases with patterns because unless you get it in black or white (clear), the color looks awful to me against the black phone. So i decided to give the matte ones a go and i love it. The only down side is that i wish the buttons werent covered at all, it makes them a bit more sensitive but at least they arent hard to press and i suppose i could just cut it out. For now it doesnt really bother me.
I doubt these cases will provide much shock protection from a bad drop but i think they look good and are extremely slim. I went from using the Amzer to this and my phone feels naked now lol. Ill switch back and forth for when i feel like i need better protection. It feels great in my hand and slides easily in and out of my pocket. The plus about this case is that it doesnt have that hideous random red tramp stamp strip on the back like majority of the matte TPU cases. Im extremely anal about how my phone looks so that was a h*ll no. Also, youll see in the pic below that the front edges are a bit shiny, they arent matte like the back and i guess it adds something to the design. The material covering the buttons is the same thats around the edges. So if you wanted to attempt at cutting and freeing them from confinement, you already have an outline.
The seller i purchased from is out for the Chinese New Year but i think it says they will resume sales on the 11th or 12th. I purchased on the 23rd of January and got it on the 7th so thats pretty average wait time coming from HK.
I also tried out the "S" case that has a thread here in the forum, and way too snug for my liking and i didnt like the gloss next to the matte, so if anyone wants it i can mail it to you or its going in the trash. (i got it in black.)
Here are two pics, sorry i dont have one of it on the actual device but the best camera i own is....my Nexus lol. The itouch fails miserably at a decent photo. And yes remember it is flexible...

Then dont buy one. It was a couple bucks maybe? Its not like there are tons of cases out there that are worth the money so a little on the cheap side doesnt bother me. I wanted plain, slim, and color and thats what this is. I think its hard to avoid a "cheap" look when you spend 4 bucks on a TPU case. But anyway, thats what the review is for...to help you decide if you want one or not.

Haha I've been told a few times that I should but I don't think I have time to learn with school going on. I see like....3 girls on this forum so its kind of intimidating lol. The most I've even done for myself is make docks. I'm working on an icon set though that's been taking forever. Add me to gtalk...same name.

i actually got this case in white. It's actually a very good case for $1 and change. It is very slim. I love it. The buttons are easier to push then the ones on the amzer case.
Definitely worth the $1!!!

$3 Android Buddy

Thought the back of my Nook Color looked a little bland, and I wanted to make mine stand out from others... so on eBay, I searched up a small (about 2.5" tall?) vinyl Android Decal... Ordered one (but they sent two, SCORE!) and attached are photos of the end result.
I wanted to put it square in the middle, but the nook emblem put a wrench in that plan. Perhaps I'll use some body filler or find a back without the indentation to cover up the 'n'.

Looking good guys. If it were me, I'd find a small one that fits right inside of the 'n', with its head right on the inside of the curvature. That's the money spot.

Its so tiny! But it looks good. I was debating between green or white, and, well, I picked white. I think yours looks better though!

yup! I agree. Blue looks mad awesome. That's what I plan on ordering.
For now, there's no word on them. But I'm guessing they'd be out by the end of July, sold by Asus on the website. If I find any news, I'll make sure to keep you guys posted.

...does anyone see anything "smart" about this cover? No auto on/off, multi-configuration stand capabilities... what? It looks like a nice cover, but why the heck does it deserve to be called a smart cover?!

I can't find this on Asus's website. Does anyone have a link?

That looks different then the T-Mobile clear case. That one looks blue around the corners and the T-Mobile is silver. Or are my eyes bad? lol

How can I get in on this??

Does anyone find a picture of the silver case on a Golden Galaxy S6 Edge?
I cannot seem to find it, and can therefore not decide if I should take the silver or golden case.

I have the golden one for my sapphire edge, it's not as gold as it is in pictures. More of a only slightly gold chrome, looks silver a lot of times to me. I had to check the packaging to make sure they sent me the right one.

You're absolutely right, even the pictures I took make it look a little more yellow gold than it looks in person, it really depends a lot on the light that's hitting it. White gold/yellow gold combo is a great way to describe it. I really love the look and feel of this case. I have insurance and, though I've used bulky cases in the past, I rarely if ever drop my phone on anything other than carpet *knock on wood* so I'm going the almost naked route this time.

I mean, yeah I see where you're coming from, it's a pretty simple set of 3 words saying who designed the product, but I'm sure they had "pushing buttons" in mind. It's on the case, not the phone itself, so it's not biting apple steez with every phone sale. And not that this argues samsung isn't playing with apple, but samsung had an ad campaign back with the s3 that was designed for/by humans (yes I know apple has ALWAYS done it), it only seems natural that when they moved on from the "nature" ux (no pun intended) that they went to "designed by *their brand name*". Again not arguing that samsung isn't trying to push apple buttons, but this is a very minor way of doing it in the big picture.

The Samsung clear view cases they look real smart but seem a bit pricey at 40 to 50 pounds depending on the colour I think Cheers Tony

I like it but the front cover scratches way to easy. I have had mine for 24 hours and its already scratched up!

I have both Clear cover and Clear view cover. They are pretty good looking, but unfortunately the durability is laking: around 24h is enough to get firsts scraches. For the price ( 24€ for 1st and around 50€ for the 2nd) I'm a bit disappointed, how could it ever last a year with such vulnerability ?
Though it offers a pretty poor protection: metal edges aren't covered at all, and after first drop, get a bad scraches on aluminium. Fortunately I get a replacement for pixel problem, so my phone is bright new right now.

Nice, thanks for the post. Got my s6 edge in gold today and it is amazing. Super fast not one hint of lag whilst using the touchwiz ui!

Just bought the Clear Case.
Not sure I will like it or not, I still find the S6 Edge look much nicer naked!

It would be nice is Samsung would get this **** together and have product available for sale on their US site. Every time a new phone comes out they are months behind in getting accessories out.

More clear look on Samsung Clear View Case.

Yeah the case itself is very good looking and very sleek. There's a lot og good reviews about this case as well so might be a bang for buck case thus far.
