Divide SD card between external and adopted storage - Moto X4 Questions & Answers

I have a stock Moto X4 and am running out of internal storage space (32gb). Is there a way to partition my 128gb SD card into 64gb external storage and 64gb adopted storage? Ive used minitool partition to divide the card into two partitions but my phone only sees the "external" FAT32 card and not the ext2 or ext4 partition on the card. I found a thread on reddit using adb but that didnt work either.
Any suggestions????
Thanks for the help and guidance

Are you encrypted? I seem to remember that you had to be unencrypted due to an issue with FBE..... Probably wrong though...

no. Nothing is encrypted. I know that once a card is designated as adopted it gets encrypted though.

[Q] SGS Storages types summary?

RAM 512Mb but you only have aprox 326 Mb for yourself, the rest are used by the OS and System Services.
Internal SD, can come in 8GB models or 16GB models
External SD, is whatever SDHC micro SD card you want to insert into it, supports up to 32GB micro SD cards
the Internal SD is split in 2 GB for System OS Apps, and whatever is left over is yours to use.
the Internal SD is aprox a Class 4 SD card
Amd what about system types on internal sd? What is reason for so slow stock i/o? FS type? LagFix i choosed store data on same chip...

exactly because of that the internal SD is split into 2 active partitions, by having the swap file on another SD card, then it lessen the access time

Ok! But..... CFLagFix-1.70 moves files to internal SD, not external.
It was in internal, and became also internal. So what's the difference?
Ok, maybe another partition, but same storage! May by file system structure, heard about some journals??? or what else??

[Q] i897 Partition / Unpartition sd card

First off I have a Galaxy S Captivate and I'm a noob when it comes to the mods on this phone. It is rooted. I bought a 32gb sd card and wanted to partition into two partitions. I did some searching and found this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=543985. It worked great, but it didn't modify the ext sd card. It partitioned the internal card instead. Now instead of seeing the 16gb internal I'm seeing 13gb.
Question is, is there an easy way to 'undo' this without loosing everything and actually partition the external card?
Thanks in advance,
~jesse
The internal /sdcard partition should only have around 13gb. The entire phone has 16gb this includes all the system partitions and a 2gb partition in /data for user apps.
Okay so it repartitioned the internal storage. Is there a way to point it to the external to partition it? I'm wanting to move the apps to the sd to free up space. Sorry for the dumb questions...
You can't install an app in an external sd.
You can move apps from /data/app, which has the 2gb capacity, to a folder in /sdcard with native froyo software.
Settings>applications> manage applications>"the app you want"> move to sd.

[Q] Manage internal storage partitions and mount

Hi there.
Is there any way to use all of the internal 8GB as a single partition, so it will be all recognized as "internal memory", and then mount my 32GB microSDHC card as /sdcard?
Right now i have:
External microSDHC Card mounted as /mnt/sdcard/external_sd
"USB Storage", which is a 6GB partition of the internal 8GB, mounted as /sdcard
"Device memory", which is a 2GB partition of the internal 8GB
What i want is:
"Device memory", with the whole internal 8GB
External microSDHC Card mounted as /mnt/sdcard
Is this possible?
I've been searching for this the whole week and couldn't find anything about it, only got some tips that Cyanogen Mod can partition the internal storage or something.
I'm currently using the stock 2.3.3 ROM and Semaphore Kernel.
Thanks in advance.
Nobody knows how can i do it?
(aka bump)

Anyone knows at least if it is possible to do with Cyanogen? Or any other custom rom?
Thanks.

Migration to new MicroSD Card

im currently buy a 16gb Class10 MicroSD for replacing my 8gb Class2 card, i have a motorola milestone, mi nandroid not have the function to backup ext partition, how i clone my old card to migrate all data and partitions to new card?
I tried to read the information from the ext2 partition with a windows driver without success.
The memory card has 3 partitions, one ext2 (i supposed) bootloader 38mb long, second partition 1,47gb ext2, and last 5,6gb fat32.
The new 16gb card, partitioned in 250mb ext2, 1,46gb ext2 , and 13,7gb aprox. Fat32.
Tried to copy only the info from the fat32 of 8gb card to the fat32 from the 16gb card, and mi apps moved with app2sd dont show in the phone, i suppose the problem is i not copy the ext2 partition from the 8gb card to the new one.
Exist some method like the ancient norton ghost to clone the both cards?
Sorry my bad inglish

[Q] N7000 + 64GB SDcard = weird behaviour

Hi everybody...
I currently see a weird behavior with my N7000 i'd like to clear up.
I have the N7000 with 16GB internal memory (2 standard partitions) plus one 64gb SD card (SDcard1).
The card (exFat) is mounted correctly and works...
I am running Cyanogen stable release cm-10.1.3-n7000.
The weirdness starts, when the card contains more than 32GB of data:
-Camera shows error: No external storage
-SD card is still accessible.
-Internal partition 2 (SDcard0) is no longer mounted
-External SDcard (SDcard1) is available with full capacity
The problem only occurs, when the external SD card contains more than 32gb AND the device is rebooted. When i put in the freshly formatted card and fill it up over 32gb, internal storage stys mounted and works.
So it seems to me, that the N7000 or Android for that matter can only manage 32gb of the SDcard and the internal memory at a time, at least during mounting SDcard1.
Any hints or solutions are welcome...

In order to help you properly more info is needed. what brand SD card is it, did you do the formatting or by the phone? I ask because I had the same problem with my GS4 using a cheap 64GB card from ebay. I did everything I could including changing many kernels to find one that would read the card properly, no go. In my research I found out that there are some people that are selling cards that are not truly 64GB and conforming to the eXFAT system. I returned the card for a refund and spent a little more and bought a Sandisk 64GB (true eXFAT formatted) and all my problems went away. I am not here saying that you must buy Sandisk, I am suggesting that you try a true high capacity eXFAT card to see if there is a difference. I explained my problem to the vendor and presented my research and he recalled the card without a hic-up.
Try to format it to fat32
