First- I am NOT Responsible if you brick your Device! You do everything at your own Risk!
As I cannot find successfull thread here guiding to root this tablet I am posting the success with rooting with Magisk, all is seen on Russian forum 4pda,but the firmware I am on is not here ,it was little hard to find it(paid) but at the end it works, I have full root:
1 .You must have UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER!!! You can do it here are 2 threads guiding to it,mine was with DC_unlocker-4USD;
2. You must download Magisk from its original thread :Link
3.You must Look at which firmware you are, download the patched ones :С170B003
С170B253
C100B270
Or you can download you full Rom, extract it using Huawei Firmware Extractor extract the BOOT.img from UPDATE.APP file transfer it to your tablet and using Magisk--> install choose boot.img and patch it, then copy the patched_boot.img from folder "Downloads" in the internal memory back to PC,rename to boot.img.
4.You must have installed ADB and fastboot.
5.Using fastboot command on PC install the patched boot.img to tablet:
-First on your tablet enable Developer Options, thick Enable OEM Unlock, thick USB Debugging on,when connected to PC must ask for Fingerprint Security Rsa key, thick Always Trust to this PC"
-Second Tunoff Tablet, then hold volume Down button and connect to PC with USB Cable,Fastboot menu must appear: With green at bottom must be written that it is not FRP locked! If so -dont do proceed disable remove Huawei Account if you have one!
-Third-copy patched boot.img to folder where is located ADB and fastboot, then hold shift and right click mouse button and click Open Command Prompt here.
Now on fastboot menu enter following:
fastboot.exe flash boot boot.img
At the end everything must be OK!
Reboot with power button and check in Magisk !

I just wanted to confirm that this method works for my tablet. My Huawei Mediapad M3 10.1" BAH-L09 had bootloader unlocked. Emui5.1.2 and OS 7.0. Following these instructions, I extracted the BOOT.img from the stock ROM, then used Magisk Manager app (6.0.1) to create the patched-boot.img. Flashing this patched-boot.img using fastboot mode with command:
fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img
My tablet now is ROOTED without any problems (camera works normally). In short, just follow exactly these instructions and your tablet will be ROOTED
This works for me on BAH-L09 with Build Number BAH-L09C100B270. My Tab ist now rooted with Magisk 17.1 installed. Next i do flash special version of TWRP from the TWRP Builder site. I took the version for the BAH-W09 (WIFI version of the tab) on my own risk. I KNOW thats not the correct version, so please dont criticize.
Installation via fastboot worked. I can boot into Huawei recovery (Power+Vol-up) and TWRP (Power + Vol-Up and Vol-down same time). System boots without problem too. Also i can flash back the original huawei rcovery.img in fastboot mode.
But there is an issue in this TWRP recovery version 3.2.1-0. It does not decrypt data. I tried to format data and flash "no-verity-opt-encrypt". But there is still an Huawei secure mechanism, that wants me to format data in Huawei recovery again. Without format data my tab do not boot into system.
Next step i tried to get TWRP for my device on TWRP-builder app. but no succes because the build queue ist full. So i have to wait...

My M3 10 lite was on latest frmware C100B270 as i used dc-unlocker. Unlock worked well for me.
Does rooting enable you to install Google Services on the tablet? Is so, how?
Is there an international ROM that can be used (with Google tools)
Thanks! Worked for my Mediapad M3 lite 10 (BAH-L09), but now... How can I update Magisk? The Magisk manager doesn't support the version installed.
Can't install twrp either

This is an old post. Development has going forward. Look here:
For a LineageOS rom

For TWRP
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-m3/development/twrp-t3914531
For the first step use the 3.2.0 version of TWRP if you are in Huawei's stock Rom.
For me its the best for this moment. Only issue is, that camera dont work in this early lineage rom. But developer is working on it.

Ok, thank you so much. I've got installed Twrp properly, and it boots ok... but no more. Now it stays on the recovery home screen. I'll try again
NOTE:I shall not be responsible for any damage cause to your phone by this procedure.
As OREO on Huawei P8 Lite 2017 brings treble support so rooting it is an issue for everyone.
I am here to guide you how to root Huawei P8 Lite 2017 (also known as Honor 8 Lite).
Requirements:
1.Unlocked Bootloader
2.Oreo Updated
3.Current running firmware (mine PRA-LA1C185B366)
4.Huawei Update Extractor (Download Below)
5.Magisk Manager latest apk.
6.Internet Connection.
7.Fastboot installed.
Procedure:
1.Extract RAMDISK.img from your downloaded firmware (or you can dump it using TWRP).
2.Transfer extracted RAMDISK.img to your phone.
3.Now open installed Magisk Manager and click install.
4.Now choose patch boot image and select the extracted RAMDISK.img.
5.It will take 5 min to download zip file and patch RAMDISK.img.
6.Patched RAMDISK.img usually stored in "sdcard/Download/patched-boot.img" or magisk manager will also guide you where the patched boot image stored.
7.Transfer the patched-boot.img to your pc.
8.Now boot your phone in bootloader mode.
9.Flash the patched-boot.img using this command
"fastboot flash ramdisk (path of patched-boot).img" without qoutes.
10.After successful flashing reboot your phone either by holding power button or by using fastboot command.
BOOM your phone is rooted now start playing with magisk modules.
Not to rain on your parade but I have a Honor 6X. And I managed to install Magisk normally. Just flash TWRP, latest Magisk and reboot. Any TWRP available for hi6250 with decryption support?

Huawei has changed the partition scheme along with encryption method totally thats why it is taking so much time.
Good News is devs are working on it and they are hoping that we could decrypt our huawei phone very soon.
I used a different variant of twrp and flashed Magisk. twrp doesnt support OTG but the backups and restore works fine

Hello
Is it possible to install MAGISK 20. 1 on a HUAWEI Mate 9 under EMUI 9. 1. 0. 252 ? Until then, with TWRP we could flash MAGISK, but now, in TWRP it is answered error & installation fails. Solution ?
No

it's stupid :crying: it's a great app, and having your root device allows you to do a lot of things. . . Does this mean that HUAWEI can't be rooted anymore? Topjohnwu should be stimulated
Magisk20 works just fine on Huawei with emui9.1
Read magisk official installation doc.
Patch yourself your recovery_ramdisk.img extracted from UPDATE.APP which is inside your firmware build zip.
Hi,
Sorry Oslo83, it's not working. Following the standard installation mode, when I flash MAGISK 20, by TWRP 3. 2. 1, there are many errors (as many as version 20. 1), then when I reboot, MAGISK is installed but I no longer have a phone connection (no more services). In addition, the phone is unstable and reboots itself.
If I reboot in recovery, Magisk is not installed, Magisk Manager is still installed, and the phone service works. A solution to install MAGISK (on EMUI 9.1.0.252 (C636E7R1P8 patched 04) ?
official magisk installation doc says to:
Patch yourself your recovery_ramdisk.img extracted from UPDATE.APP which is inside your firmware build zip.
Just stop using twrp
Hi Oslo83,
I don't think I have the same MAGISK installation tutorial ; can you put me the link to the MAGISK installation tutorial; sincerly
https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#huawei
-From your firmware zip file, extact UPDATE.APP file.
-From UPDATE.APP file, extract 9.x's Recovery_ramdisk.img with 'splitupdate' or 'huawei update extractor'.
-Send Recovery_ramdisk.img file to device
-Use MagiskManager to patch Recovery_ramdisk.img file; you will get a
patched_magisk.img
Flash this patched_magisk to 9.x recovery_ramdisk with fastboot.
Once with patched magisk flashed successfully, keep usb plugged on, reboot while holding VolumeUp pressed for more than 3 seconds on BL screen to boot to erecovery, once in erecovery, choose wipe, that shall reboot to recovery mode which has now been replaced by rooted mode since you successfully flashed recovery_ramdisk.
Then once in rooted mode, delete /cache/recovery/command file.
Thanks Oslo83, it's working
Thanks Oslo83, I just want say what I reported.
When I wipe data, my phone always boots direct in Magisk recovery and I can't recharge when he is off, because he turns on when I plug it.
I have install the patched recovery and use the command "fastboot reboot", disconnected the cable pressing VOL UP, the phone booted on Erecovery and I choose to shut down.
And after turned on using power button +VOLUP. I've got Magisk installed and now I can recharge when the phone is turned off. When I turn on normally my system have'nt Magisk and let me choose if I want the Erecovery. When I turn on pressing VOL UP until Huawei logo, I have Magisk on system. Like the tutorial says: https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#magisk-in-recovery
Thanks for this thread
Thanks to oslo83. I have been troubled by the same unstable, reboot problem for a long time. I tried and succeed. Burst into tears. I often hold all the button in the previous trying and it also leads to the system that has the Magisk. As I said, its unstable and reboots itself. But I can boot to a stable system following the steps you've mentioned. I sincerely wants to know the reason. (Forgive my poor English)

Edit: My phone tries to go into the magisk mode but keeps rebooting in magisk mode. Normal mode works fine.
Not sure what's going wrong. I did the same steps as mentioned for my Huawei 6250 device which is running GSI treble image which has root already. Is that inbuilt root a problem?
HI there,
I'm having a hard time to root my p 20 pro running an OpenKirin custom rom and would be grateful for some help.
Some information, about my phone and the build:
P 20 Pro CLT-L09 (C432)
Build number: OpenKirin-AntiEng PD20144.A1 (it is based on AOSPExtended)
Now, my problem is that I can't find a bootimage or a recovery.img for emui 9.0 anywhere on the internet. I apparently need this file to patch it and then install the patched file in fastbootboot mode. But all the links that still exist on various sites aren't working anymore. If someone still has the file I need or knows how to get it, that would be very nice.
Thanks in advance.
Also: The phone has no ramdisk, installing through twrp should not and did not work.
Edit: I figured it out by myself. OpenKirin sugests not to install twrp, and to root by patching the recovery.img of the stock firmware. Now, I did install Twrp and was unable to just install Magisk from there due to no ramdisk on the device. But since I had twrp installed as recovery I could just patch the twrp image and install it with fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk magisk_patched.img.
Hi, i'm trying to root my CN version 13.0.5 without the twrp, I'm using the magisk to patch the boot file, but after patch and use the command "fastboot flash boot boot.img, the mi 11 ultra just stuck in the mi logo. I'm not been able to root my phone, right now, how to root the CN version 13.0.5?
i did the same root with the android 11 and worked, something change?
hi, did you install magisk canary and not magisk stable?
I have just Root Xiaomi.eu A12 Miui13 with the same method and it work.
Hi. FIrst - better to use Magisk 23.0 - as you will still have Magisk hide. But more important - just the "fastboot boot boot.img" command instead. Once you have booted without issues you can go into Magisk and patch the real boot image file from there and restart. This is how it always worked for me. Not really sure what is the big difference there but as I said - that worked for me.
When you are running the miui 13, copy the boot.img from fastboot folder to your phone(remember the location). Open magisk app, choose install and search for boot.img on your phone. After patching is done, copy the patched file into your fastboot folder on pc. Boot into fastboot, type fastboot flash boot (and drag the patched file from fastboot folder here) and hit enter. after flashing fastboot reboot
Thanks for the help, i'll try to patchin a few hours and back here to give the feedback!

Great, It also worked for me Xiaomi.eu 13.0.9.0.
I have difficulties too rooting my Mi 11 Ultra with Android 12. I have installed the latest canary of Magisk and when I patch the boot.img and flash it the device stucks on Android logo. When I boot the device with fastboot boot magisk_patched***.img I'll get a black screen.
Can anybody post a patched boot.img from Xiaomi.eu 13.0.9.0 Rom? Perhaps it works when I flash this one on my device.

i just lost my root without reason, i just restarted my phone, than no root anymore and not being able to installing again ;D. what a hell
Start from the beginning by flashing unpatched boot.img and use Magisk v23. V24 has nothing but problems. I was frustrated for a few hours with it and going back to v23 solved everything.
