Can't enter in flash mode

Hello to all,
I would like to install a custom ROM but unfortunately my phone doesn't want to enter in flash mode! Once switched off, I plug it to my computer while keeping vol down button pressed but instead of entering in flash mode, it displays the battery charging icon.
I hard reset the phone but the problem still remains. Any idea.
Thanks, have a nice day!
My guess is either the USB cable (did you use the OEM cable?) or the drivers (does windows recognize your phone?). Removing the SD card or first entering recovery were suggested earlier (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/help/update-volume-connect-doesnt-t2613733). But more experiences Z3c owners may have better ideas...

Using flashtool:
Turn phone off completely.
Start flashtool, choose flashmode and choose which firmware you are going to use. Tick Exclude TA.. Click on flash.
It will start preparing the build and after a few seconds it will ask you to connect the phone.
Plug the phone in while holding volume down, as soon as flashtool starts doing something, you can let go.
If you don't know how to use flashtool then I urge caution, Sony's aren't like flashing a Samsung, it is actually possible to brick your phone with flashtool. There are lots of questions on 'how do I fix my phone?' in this Q&A thread from people who didn't read up on what they were doing.
Recommend you read bilboa1's great guide on what to do, starting with backing up your TA partition..
Thanks for your answers but I think the mini usb from my phone must be dead.
About Flashtool, I can't use it because I can't go into Flash mode! Moreover, my phone is not recognized by windows. I tried with several usb cables and computers when I plug it, I don't have any MTP or PTP choice, it can only charge..
On Windows 10, devices is not recognized and Window 7 see it as a 5880!
And I tried to remove SD and SIM cards..

If the USB lead was dead you wouldn't get the charging icon on your phone.
Have you installed the Sony drivers.
You also need to run exe in the Drivers folder within Flashtool, to make sure you have correct flashomde drivers available. Installing these drivers is very difficult in Windows 10 and it require restarting the machine in safe mode, and going into the advanced settings to disable driver signature checking, this how to video is for windows 8, but you'll get the idea
Have you installed ADB?
Sonys PC Companion should set you up with the correct connection to your PC
Have you tried other USB cables?

Yes, I've installed PC Companion, adb drivers but nothing appears when I use command "adb devices". I've also installed flashtools drivers but deactivating drivers signatures in Windows. But when I try to flash, flashtool ask me to turn my device in flash mode (switch off then volume down + power) but I can't do that.
I've tried several usb cables. Some are charging my devices, some are aren't but none of them allows me to data transfer!
I've also tried to force MTP or PTP usb transfer in developper option, it doesn't work more..

Do you have any warranty on your phone, you could be right that the usb socket is damaged somehow, but it's strange that you can still get a charge through it.
Your only chance at moving to a custom rom change is flashfire
This should let you flash a rom without recovery.
Edit: Flashmode is just holding down just - volume button, not volume+power
Obviously your chances of rescuing a failed install are going to almost zero without recovery and flashtool, so be very very careful about what you try and flash in flashfire. Read up completely that the rom you want to flash is going to work pushed on top of whatever you are running at the moment.
For anyone who might be interested, sometimes you have to try a USB 2.0 port or just a different port. I had the same problem while using a usb 3 port, switched to 2.0 worked like a charm.
Try to open the back of the phone and removing/unplugging the battery wait 5 seconds and then put it in again. Then try holding down the volume down button while you connect a usb cable.

Acidently deleted USB connection app

Hello guys,
as I wanted to delete unnecessary blow apps I think I deleted some important System app that is responsible for connecting to a PC. Now the S5 mini behaves as I it is connected to a battery charger when it is connected to a PC, there is no sign that it is recognized by the PC. I allready tried to Flash recovery with Odin but it isnt recognized by Odin too (in download mode). Am I doing something wrong? Can someone help me PLEASE get my phone working again and flash some custom ROM? Thanks in advance!!!
Try to install kies drivers for your smartphone and retry on odin. I think the only problem is the missing of the drivers
No, Kies is installed and it has no effect. Neither Kies nor the Computer recognize the phone, even on the phone theres no sign it is connected to the PC except the battery loading sign.
Try To find the drivers on google and install them. Do you have a custom recovery? If yes you can flash a custom rom
Download mode isn't related to kernel nor recovery, so unless you somehow wiped all phone's memory (all partitions) you'll still have download mode. So if you can enter Samsung's download mode and your computer doesn't recognize the phone it's one of them:
1. Bad cable, some USB cables only charge, no data connection;
2. Bad USB port on either phone or computer, try and different computer.
Good luck.

Back to Stock ROM

Is there a way to flash to the stock ROM without booting into fastboot?
I cant recognize my device through fastboot. Tried in 2 pcs, and a MAC. (Yes, I installed the drivers).

Phone not detected

Hello,
I was on 10.0.7 version, rooted with magisk.
I had error while installing 10.0.8 version, then I downloaded 10.0.7 full rom, and used flash_all_except_data.bat.
Then after rebooting, it runs infinitely on loading animation (colors bar).
When I enter in fastboot, fastboot logo is displayed, but pc doesn't recognize phone anymore (fastboot devices show nothing).
[UPDATE]
I managed to boot with wiping data from recovery (Xiaomi stock recovery).
Now I can use the phone, but I don't have wifi (maybe something messed with vendor).
And I can't flash it because it is not recognized in fastboot mode (tried 3 W10 PCs, and 1 W7, it doesn't show in device manager)...
Can you help me ?
This is because the phone presents different device identifiers to the computer in these modes, and different drivers are needed, so it is possible to have proper drivers installed for one mode, but not the other. The fastboot program is simple and will just show the < waiting for device > message forever if drivers are missing. However, the same message may appear if the drivers are installed correctly, but the phone is not in the proper state with fastboot device IDs.
Make sure you aren't using a USB 3.0 port. Trying changing ports. The USB cable might also be the problem.
try using a direct usb 2.0 port on the pc ....
Otherwise reboot everything , erase cache first ?
Fastboot erase cache
or
Keep the phone connected and reboot the recovery , the led should come on then.
Keep the phone connected in the bootloader and reboot the pc.
If the problem still exists the let me know
What's the exact error ? Waiting for device
When the phone is in the bootloader is it recognized as fastboot usb (in red text) and what does the device manager in windows say about a android phone ?

In fastboot mode nothing shows in device manager, with 3 different cables, with 4 different computers (3x W10, 1xW7).
I tried connecting with a live cd of CentOS.
Same results, adb connect when phone is started, but when I go in fastboot mode nothings shows in lsusb or dmesg...
Looks like the phone doesn't connect to pc in fastboot, very very strange...
