It could also be for Redmi 9 ?
https://piunikaweb.com/2020/09/08/x...ui-12-update-enables-support-for-aptx-codecs/
Ada64 app shows aptx & aptx hd codec being present and also developer mode
I rarly use BT (prefer USB DAC with headphone or iem / meizu HiFi pro or dragonfly )
So, unable to test currently ( there somewhere in jimbag )
So, my headphone supports apt-x
prior to connecting checked / developer mode settings / set apt-x as prefered / everything else to high
connected headphone / it stated : 80% SBC / set it to media only
Any setting change at developer mode did nothing ( aka it stays SBC )
cheers
note: i'm on 11.0.8 global
exactly the same problem

Hello guys
I can't change Bluetooth codec from developer menu. I can only see SBC codec instead aptx(i have bt compatible headphones). Someone have same problem?
Known issue on emui8. Use search.
Done but anyone have this problem on emui 9
I use aptx on my samsung level u pro
this is normal for most devices. most android phones will not allow you to choose bluetooth codecs if they are not in use. even when they are in use, your options will likely be little to none. your device will choose the best codec that is compatible.
US at&t 9.0, unkodified. I can select bluetooth audio settings in developer mode butnthey revert back to default upon disconnection. Any way to make permanent?
Not yet it seems as others have reported the same issue
This is my default Bluetooth Codec on ATT official Pie update. I never checked this on 8.1, does anyone know what it was set to on 8.1 and is this what you guys are talking about?

Here is my snapdragon SM-N960W stock Bluetooth settings on Oreo v8.1.0
Mine revert back to this any time I try changing them. Only one that sticks is Bluetooth AVRCP I can run it from 1.4 up to 1.6. The rest always revert to the same as yours. See my stock note 9 screenshot.
Bluetooth Codec only sticks if an bluetooth audio device is connected and if this device also supports the selected codec. Else the codec always reverts back to sbc.
When I connect my bluetooth headphones for example it switches automatically from sbc to abtx, as this was the codec I last used with this device. Same with other devices and codecs.
note 9 with Sony WH1000 XM3
Just found that if you go to the Sony app:
Sound quality mode = Priority on sound mode
Then go back to developer options the bluetooth audio codec jumps to aptx and stays there.
Not as good as LDAC but better than SBC.
I got my 4a 5G yesterday. Tried my bluetooth earphones that supposedly supports Aptx Adaptive and they do not show up as connected with that. Just plain Aptx. And I did go in developer menu and no choice to select it either. Anyone get Aptx Adaptive to work on their 4a 5G?
765G supports it:
https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon-765g-5g-mobile-platform
Xiaomi Line supports it:

Unfortunately, nobody cares.
Hi,
I updated to EMUI 11 last month and just recently noticed that in the bluetooth developers section there is no support for Aptx anymore (a couple other codecs are missing). Is this the same for anyone else? I'm certain there were a lot more codecs available before.
After connecting my headset, aptx shows selected in dev settings. In BT settings, clicking on BT device shows high quality sound being chosen. I'm on 11.0.0.118
I want to buy the Redmi Note 12 pro 5g phone and I have a question if it has bluetooth support for the aptx and ldac codecs. Has anyone already tried it?
If xiaomi source code is sync with AOSP 13, they should support native aptx https://android.googlesource.com/pl.../heads/master/system/embdrv/encoder_for_aptx/
