Hi!
I have a Moto X 2013 from Verizon. I am planning on sending it in for a replacement via Motorola. Since they give you a brand new phone, you lose all your data from it.
I have tried for ages trying to find ways on the internet.
Before I do this, I want to know for 100% fact that there is no way to backup my phone.
Key "fact thingies"
-Cannot enable ADB Debugging (There is a password on my phone)
-CAN ACCESS FASTBOOT (Verified by checking fastboot terminal)
-Buttons work fine.
Any help will be highly appreciated, and, if you can help me get my data backed up, I will reward you with the Steam game of your choice (Up to $15)

Okay, here goes.
My bootloader is locked (unfortunantely), I'd like to back up user created files, so music, pictures, videos, and the folders containing them, It has 4.4.4 rooted, and the password is, well, a regular password.

You can give it a try with a OTG adapter and USB keyboard attached, this way you can probably unlock the device, but you`ll need some blind navigation with the keyboard after that so you can reach the settings
Today or tomorrow when I got the time I`ll play a bit with that and I`ll see if I can help you.

I've played a while today with a keyboard and I can do everything, except to unlock the phone, the unlock ring itself cannot be operated with keyboard. Password input is okay, so it's navigation to Developer Options and enabling USB debugging is also doable..
There is an option to plug mouse first, try to jiggle with it and unlock the ring, since this is the only of few things you can do when your have password, then connect the keyboard, input your password and proceed.
After that there will be one more obstacle, which is to authorize you pc to access debugging, but this can be done with keyboard too, since it's a pop-up.
hm, not the easiest task, since your BL is locked, you cant install CWM, otherwise you could remove the pw with the aroma file manager out of CWM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2225695
Have you tried this?: http://trendblog.net/how-to-bypass-android-phone-lock-screen-pattern-pin-password/
And have you looked into this?: http://android.stackexchange.com/qu...ce-as-have-no-internet-connection/35848#35848
Another way would be removing the lock via cerberus, but this would require installing cerberus 1st on your phone and if your phone is locked but rooted but you cant access the phone directly or via adb then there isn't much you can do cause you have to access the phone somehow, either directly or via terminal / PC
I had to get a new Nexus because I lost my previous one. Now I'm trying to root this one but I can't seem to get the OEM Unlock setting to work. I've rebooted it, factory reset it, enabled/disabled the option countless times, enabled/disabled USB debugging... nothing. Google doesn't seem to have an answer either. Anyone has any idea what's going on? Or if there's another way to unlock this setting?
Thanks for your time!
Just to clarify, are you actually attemping to unlock it? You have to first enable that option in developer settings, but you still have to put the phone in bootloader mode and run the command "fastboot oem unlock", then use the buttons on the phone to confirm it. I think all your data wipes first time you unlock your bootloader too so just be careful.

Depending the Android build installed, sometimes the option has been greyed out. Don't know why...
You said you tried to get the "OEM unlock" slider working... But did you try issuing the unlock command in bootloader?
Good luck...
Yeah, I'm aware it wipes your device. Also, don't burn me but I was using a Toolkit to start the process but I just gave up and did it the old fashioned way. After restarting into bootloader and sending the fastboot command it prompted the question to unlock it, so everything went smoothly.
Somewhere I had read that Android purposely locks OEM unlocking after n reboots, and I thought I was completely out of luck, but everything went smoothly. Thanks for your time!
Hey guys,
last weekend my Huawai P9 battery got empty over the night and on the next morning after charging i noticed that the phone ask me for a password. Before i just used my finger sensor to get back into it but as you know after a complete restart it ask for the set password.
The problem is that i do not remember it in any way and right now i am @ 1 hour waiting time between the attempts.
I really don't want to delete and reset the phone and loose all my data. So i hope someone can help me to solve that problem to get back access to my phone without loosing all data.
Phone data:
Name: Huawai P9
Model: EVA-L09
Latest official available Android update installed.
No Root, No Modification
What i have tried so far:
1. Google Android Manager
I logged into my google account and tried to reset the password but google tells me it cant replace the password because its already active. So looks like that reset way only works for pin and gesture phones but not for ones that already have an active password.
2. dr.Phone
I have downloaded dr.phone toolkit for android and tried the unlock locked screen option but it tells me that the phone is not supported.
3. ADB / Fastboot
I installed ADB and fastboot on my system and tried to connect the phone to delete the password.key file. ADB is running on my windows but it does not get any connection to the phone because the phone has no developer option enabled and i am not able to enable it because it cant access it.
Fastboot does detect my phone but yea i cant delete a file with it right?
Greetings,
Chris
I would pay for a working solution so please help me to find a solution.

-I could only imagine that you are able to unlock your bootloader with DC Phoenix (normal bootloader unlock would cause data loss and u would need DC Phoenix for the oem lock)
-Maybe u are able to flash TWRP recovery with DC Phoenix and backup your files from there but i dont know if TWRP works without an unlocked bootloader.
-All in all DC Phoenix is a risky tool.

Stop stop stop.....
Is your phone under warranty? If it is, dont touch the bootloader or flash anything. Send it back to Huawei to fix it.
If its no longer under warranty, is it requesting a password to unlock your phone or is it the password for decrypt storage? And last question, do you use the finger print scanner to unlock your phone?
only solution with bootloader locked is the wipe data/factory reset inside erecovery
Due to some personal issues, I was not using my phone since the past 6 months. Now when I started it back, I am not able to enter the proper screen lock(Pattern) and I never ever made an account on myXperia. I tried many ways which included google find my device but find my device is not allowing me to change screen lock, it just allows to make sound and "Lock and erase" option which basically does nothing.
I actually need my data intact and after a little search on internet, I came to know that i need to unlock my bootloader and then flash a recovery and remove the screen lock file but unlocking bootloader will result in factory reset and hence my data will be lost.
By default the phone doesn't allow usb debugging when connected to pc, if some how I am able to allow usb debugging then I can recover my data.
Please help guys.
Dear all,
i got into trouble with a frind of mine and had to give him back his old Motorola G2 (XT1072).
First of all i have removed all data from the device and then made a factory reset. I think this was the biggest failure of all.
After turning power on, the phone is asking for a registered google mail account. As it was his google mail account i gave him back the phone and was wondering as he called me a few days later and said "for such broken devices i have no use". After researching a little more i found out that he had forgotten all login info for this account so there was no chance to get past this step in the phone. So i got my phone back, but unfortunately useless after all and he was laughing about my pitty.
I have tried several ways (with adb and sdk) but always had to stop at the point where it says that "Allow OEM Unlock" was not enabled. As faar as i remember i never ever went to the developer options or have enabled the OEM Unlock on this phone.
Do you know a way how i can enable USB debugging or the OEM unlock via the adb mode? I have already tried the motorola website to generate the unlock code for the bootloader, but oh wonder... "Allow OEM Unlock has not been enabled" :crying:
For some former Samsung phones i used to flash a stockrom with ODIN. Is there a chance to do this with the G2 also?
Thank you so much for all your comments and help in recovering my beloved motorola G2 XT1072
Kind regards
Sebastian
