Hi all!
My moto X4 has a faulty external (rear) microphone, so whenever I use the camera for video recording, there is no output!
I did multiple hw test, and the front mic is the only one that has no issues.
So, I was wondering if there is a possibility to force every app (or just the GCam) to use the front mic. Maybe modifying some props could help..
I'm now on LOS 17.1 and magisk installed.
Please, help me!

Hey everyone every time I record with the front facing camera the audio always distorts, becomes unsynced with the video then stops while the video continues playing. Also makes distorted noises while recording but only with the front facing camera. The back camera audio works fine on snapchat however. Has anyone ever had this problem recently? Any advice is appreciated.
Before this problem has occured the phone was working fine sine a week from now the camera is not working properly.
When I open the Camera app it is not focusing the object and some noise is coming near camera at back
Hardware malfunction... Either the ois or the camera module itself. Let it swap
My God, I had similar problem when I had Lumia 1020
Only solution was replacing camera module.
Any ideas ?
Recorded a short selfie video (<1m) yesterday, worked perfect. Recorded a longer video (>13m) with the normal camera, which has no sound.
Really needed the audio as it was for a good cause.
Check the App Settings if the Camera 'app permissions' toggle for microphone is enabled. Also check the volume control.
Hello, I have big problem with recording video with external Mic.
I had a lavalier type Mic that I got from Sound Professionals website last year. It worked great with the v30 but on v40 sounds very strange. I mostly record myself playing my instrument (double bass) for study and pedagogic purposes and now low notes sound tubby as if underwater effect...tried lowering sensitivity (gain) but didn't do much difference
I was using HD audio mode on manual video camera
Recording with the internal phone mics is very good but lacks low frequency range (at least until 40hz) so I need external Mic to properly judge my sound production.
I'm seriously considering returning this unless I can connect an external Mic.that has good sound I'm hoping it's just the Mic went bad
Anyone with some external Mic experience please share your experience.
So after some troubleshooting it seems it's the video camera app that has a bug when recording audio from external Mic.
I used the same microphones with the HD audio recorder app and the sound quality is just perfect.
Only when using the video camera app (manual or auto mode) the external microphone sounds like crap.
I used some third party video recording apps and again the external microphones work very well (though these apps don't have all the nice manual audio and video settings as lg's stock app)
Anyone else has a similar experience?
Not sure whether to reset the phone or exchange it...high quality audio video recording is THE reason I buy this phone...
Hi, I recently baught a tablet Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 plus. And there is a strange issue with it. After installing some communication and chat software no matter what, everything is working perfecly with microphone, Camera can record video etc. But at some point (sorry can't spot the exact problem), when I plug headphones into the tablet or something else. When try to record video from normal camera or Open camera software the sound is gone. It seems like no microphone is present or something else suppress it. Every other app is working perfectly fine (skype, viber, messenger...), every of installed applications has full capabilities for talking with and without video. Camera and microphone are working fine there. Since I reset the tablet with factory settings all goes normal and camera can again record audio without issues. But at some point camera no longer can record audio. I also tried to change some app permisssions from settings but it doesn't help. So do you have any idea what can cause the problem?
Best regards
