LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.1 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

Compatible with all Xiaomi Redmi 4A and Redmi 5A variants (16GB / 32GB), other Redmi devices are not supported.
Builds are based off the Xiaomi's Android 7.1 firmware with proprietary blobs from MIUI 8.3.29 dev package.​

Notice:
No custom kernels are supported in this thread. Only stock kernel and official builds will be supported. No bug reports if that's not the case.
Installation:
Reboot to recovery (Custom TWRP recovery for Redmi 4A - Direct link)
Format /system, /data and /cache
Install LineageOS zip package
Install [optional] the LineageOS su addon to get root (there are obviously other root methods, but this is the recommended one as it survives to OTA updates)
Install [optional] a Google Apps package of your choice (Open GApps is advisable, but stock and super variants are not recommended!!!)
Important notes:
Current minimal * required * firmware version is MIUI 8.3.29 Global dev, otherwise installation could have issues. Download the latest dev fastboot package directly from Xiaomi and flash it prior to installing LineageOS or, alternatively, download and install one of the latest custom packages containing firmware only (at your own risk).
GApps can only be flashed on clean installs.
Formatting data (all user data is wiped, including internal storage) is a must if MIUI was previously installed and device was encrypted.

Hi guys, i have a problem with instalation 15.1. I say all step that i do, may be anyone will notice a mistake:
1) install Miui 9 (last from official site)
2)install TWRP version twrp-3.2.1-0-rolex (it work correctly)
3)going to TWRP-mode and wipe /system, /data, /cache (internal storage don't wipe because haven't encryption on phone, thinking that may be i should do the format... )
4) install LineageOS 15.1, Gapps and root
5) reload system and over, i can only restore my phone with support fastboot and MIUI ROM Flashing Tool.....

i have unlock phone, MIUI global 9.5 stable, android version 7.1.2
after install lineage 15.1, gapps and root i reload my phone ang it get in bootloop with label of "mi"
i'm sure that i haven't so serious problem orspecial, but may be i miss one detail which is important...
for example, i should format a internal storage, but i don't...

I installed magisk v20.4 and safety net didn't work. Clean Flashed the ROM and installed pico Gapps and magisk. BTW I installed crdroid v5.12.

The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.

Using this rom now. Initial testing has most things working, doesn't play well with Migrate yet but that won't be a rom issue. A little bit clunky moving between screens but understandable as it's alpha. Overall impression, positive

first seconds with this rom..omg so laggy..like 2 fps in a game its impossible to use...waiting for fixes))))

Laggy as hell. Even without GApps. Missing qr scanner seems to be a common issue in android 11.

Works on my kltedv, just a little laggy but everything tested so far works

Testing this great ROM, as previously mentioned the device is laggy, it can be worked around by removing animations on developer tools, however the recent animation doesn't seems to be affected by it, currently finding glitches on the bottom right of the screen as a ghost image from current working screen while scrolling (A little hard to explain and even more to show it up) it's pretty decent for gaming combined with the gpu drivers available for the device. Looking forward for the development, if there is space for beta testing I'll gladly help!

Make sure to backup efs partition before flashing this ROM. Had a Bluetooth keeps stopping bug after going back to lineageOS 16.0

Use NikGapps Basic. You can search it on Google. I don't recommend using OpenGApps anymore

where is capacitive buttons customization? did i miss a settings?

i dont understand why some many android 11 version, while the freeze bug is still there, and no one develop a decent stable android 10 version.
what is the point of have android 11 if you cannot use as daily driver because of the random freezes?

please add rounded corners. dot os is one of my favorite roms and it works great.

Kudos to developer. This ROM is amazing. For me all is working, including Google Assistant with "Ok Google".

I tried it today and working here too

This Custom ROM, dotOS 5.1, has two zip file versions to download. I chose zip file with gapps and everything is working good.
One doubt: when I'm on lockscreen and swipe qs tiles down qs tiles background is on transparency color. Is it normal? I don't know where i change it.

Yes, I can't install bitgapps either.

It works well enough for me.
I installed the Gapps via "arter97-recovery-i9506-6.59.0" because they don't install with TWRP recovery.
Play Protect certification has passed by default, marvellous! The important thing is not to install Magisk before accessing Google Play. So after this step I activated Magisk without losing the certification (with the crDroid ROM or TWRP Recovery it was not possible to do it).
Here after the installation some things don't work: the auto brightness doesn't show the toggle and doesn't work; the calendar doesn't show Google Accounts; Speech Services by Google are crashed and won't work until updated.

Communication is possible, but the date is not recognized. For reference, I am 3G.

The installation went fine with no errors.
com.google.android.syncadapters.calendar does not work without
Google Calendar installed and org.lineageos.etar does not add Google Accounts without Google Calendar installed.
The current PayPal version is also not working but some old versions are okay.
The Wi-Fi driver is unstable, sometimes it loses connection and forces you to restart the device to reconnect.

There is a bug where wcdma cannot connect.
