Galaxy S20 FE 5G Bootloader Unlock - Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Questions & Answers

Though carrier and bootloader unlock are different subjects, if an S20 FE 5G is Samsung *FACTORY* carrier unlocked, can I assume its bootloader is therefore unlockable? If it is, where can I get the unlock code? Bestbuy, for example, is offering this phone with both carrier unlocked and locked versions, https://www.bestbuy.com/site/search...rue&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960&keys=keys
Further, can I assume if a model is carrier locked, then the bootloader cannot be unlocked to enforce the carrier lock?
My objective is to root the phone and also install TWRP. I have no plans to switch my carrier, T-Mobile, and thus a model locked to T-Mobile is fine as long as its bootloader can be unlocked since a carrier-locked one is cheaper.
My understanding is S20 FE 5G is based on the Snapdragon processor. Some have claimed Snapdragon is impossible to unlock the bootloader, but I assume they mean you can't do it if Samsung doesn't allow it. Unfortunately, I simply can't find a Samsung site where they would give out bootloader unlock code for approved models.

No you can't not unlocked the boot loader I went with unlocked version bc of bloat software on carrier phones you will never get to unlock the bootloader

[Q] unlocking the bootloader

Just wanted to ask some devs if bootloader lock implementation is carrier specific or common to all bootloader locked GN3 models? For example, if an exploit is found to unlock the bootloader on one of the GN3 models - what's the likelyhood it'll work on another GN3 model?

Which Note 9?

I have a note 8 on AT&t prepaid. The bootloader is locked. I would like to upgrade to the 9. Is there a variant that works on AT&t prepaid that will allow me to root? Unlocked phone are just carrier unlocked right? Will the unlocked Sammy still let me root?
Thanks in advance.

I don't use AT&T, but yes unlocked phones just mean sim unlocked. Not the same as bootloader unlocked.
U.S. models are bootloader locked so no root there. Exynos models and N9600 are bootloader unlocked. You would need to check the available bands on those models to ensure they match your carrier, or wait until someone on AT&T confirms

AT&T 8.1 to Unlocked Pie. I made a huge mistake.

I bought two AT&T locked LG V40 last month on eBay. I carrier unlocked one and was waiting for the unlock code for the second. I crossflashed freshly unlocked one to Unlocked ROM Pie; no issues, great experience... but this is where it goes down. I resold the completely unlocked one and proceed to flash the Pie KDZ into the STILL carrier locked AT&T! You see, I barely use data/phone services so I totally forgot I never carrier unlocked this unit.
Here's the deal. Now I have the unlock code but the firmware was not design in input an unlock code for carrier.
Is there a workaround, I'm stuck with an AT&T locked LG v40 with unlocked ROM?
Extra comments: Maybe I can flash LineageOS and find a way to input the unlock code but here is where my experience falls short.

Pretty much unless you happen to have a backup of the stock AT&T firmware? But question why didn't you just OTA to AT&T pie first?

Does a *factory* carrier-unlocked Samsung S20 FE 5G have an unlockable bootloader?

It's said that U.S. carriers almost always lock down the bootloader of a phone permanently. Thus, if a phone is carrier unlocked at the *FACTORY*, ie. it is not manufactured for any specific carrier, is it safe to assume the bootloader would be unlockable? Would this apply to a Samsung S20 FE 5G? Thanks
I live in Australia. Just bought an unlocked (carrier) 5G version and successfully unlocked the bootloader.
Nope, not the US variant unlocked model
Yea I wish I knew that before I bought the US unlocked one.
But I saw in another thread talks of flashing EU snapdragon firmware to see if it lets us US unlocked phones have access to oem unlock

Tried it, and it doesn't let you flash. But hopefully someone can figure out how to bypass that.....

Do you don't have a exynos that's a Canadian variant.
The Canadian variant is a North American snap dragon.
Have to unlock bootloader first then install magisk. See developer threads for bootloader unlock service only if it's on bootloader version 1. To check bootloader version it look in settings/about/software the number 5th from the right is the bootloader version. Your 991w should be a snapdragon processor. The exynos model is 991F and you can unlock bootloader for free you can get oem unlock to show up by following guides on google.
