Hi,
Has anyone figured out how to change the default gallery? I want to use Google Photos instead of Samsung Gallery (especially when I click on photos from the Camera app) but I can't find a way to set it as default.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
I've been trying to do the same since my A5. I don't think samsung allows you to since Quickpic even has an option to make itself default and always returns an error on my Sammy phones.

So I've done a few searches, both on google and on this forum about geotagging on the galaxy S and what people seem to be saying is that you have to disable location entirely? Both GPS and network location?
I have a rooted phone running the latest Cognition 2.2, sqlite and root explorer installed, is there really no setting I can change to disable adding GPS info to pictures I take?
I'd appreciate it if anyone who knows more about this could provide some input.
You need a different camera app if you wish to disable geo tagging while leaving GPS enabled for other apps. Though I have not used it, Camera 360 from the marketplace is supposed to have that ability. According to most reviews I've read, Camera 360 is far superior to other camera apps. There is a $3.99 version and a free version.
Hi! I'm from the Philippines. I just want to consult about a problem of mine. My mother bought an S3 LTE (i-9305) from a local seller here. Upon opening, we learned that it came from Portugal (TMN). It says "Modified" on the status. It is also on Android 4.1.1.
Anyway, when I'm trying to upload a photo on Instagram, it will just freeze on the portion where I will choose the filter for the photo. It will be stuck like that for a few minutes and will just redirect me to its home page. I can choose the photo to upload but I can't upload it.
I tried clearing its cache on the Applications page and re-install the app, but to no avail.
I haven't noticed any problem with any of the apps installed, just Instagram.
I hope someone could help me.
Thanks!

Thanks for the link. I found this bit on their HELP page.
App crashes when applying a filter (Android only).
We are fixing an issue where the Android app crashes and returns users to the Instagram Feed screen (without uploading the photo) or crashes and returns to the device's home screen when trying to apply a filter.
Some users have fixed this issue by increasing the camera resolution setting from their device's camera settings, or by updating to the newest operating system available for their device.
Please note that some devices seeing this crash do not support OpenGL ES 2, which is the technology required to power Instagram's filters. Devices that do not support OpenGL ES 2 will not be able to run Instagram properly. Find more information on whether your device is supported.
How would I know that my S3 has OpenGL ES 2? The camera is already set to its highest resolution and has the newest OS (via Kies).
I wondered if anyone else has noticed the sheer amount of soft dependencies that the S-apps have on each other, especially S-Voice. For example S-voice can't make a memo without S-notes and can't retrieve news without Flipboard.
Many other examples exist. S-Notes has options in the settings to sync with Samsung cloud, even if the Samsung cloud syncing apps/services are removed, even the cloud services seem to have some soft dependencies with Dropbox.
All the S-apps will of course function for the most part on their own, but might have such issues or orphan settings, something I just don't like.
A lot of TW ROMS are debloating by removing some of these apps, but I don't know if everyone realizes what I just mentioned.
Personally I would prefer just the Samsung camera, but I have heard (though not tried without) that even it is dependent on S-Voice. If this is so and if it is possible I would hope at some point to see a modded version of the Camera that makes it fully independent.

No, that is not so. I have nearly every Samsung component disabled, including S Voice, and I use the Samsung camera with no problem... maybe there's some feature in there that doesn't work that I've just never hit, but generally, the camera works fine on its own.
Voice Control of Camera, Incoming Calls, Camera and Music are all Dependant on SVoice

I tried a few hours ago, the camera freezes and crashes if you try to turn on voice commands in the camera settings. As long as this is not hit it works, but I hate that they would make the option to say "Shoot" to take a picture dependent on another app.

If they didn't do that than every app you mention would be twice the size because they would have to include the code for those options in each of the individual app.

Exactly, the S4 wasnt made for removing system apps or modifying the system. It was meant to be used the way it is out of the box which is why voice commands for music, camera, alarm and answering calls is dependant on S-Voice... easier to integrate dependancy unto another app versus integrating a sepaeare feature into every one of those lol

Ok, well, we have an interesting discrepancy here them... I just confirmed I have S Voice disabled... I then went into Camera, turned voice control on (it was off to start) and was able to take a picture by saying "Cheese"... no crash or anything, it worked as expected.
I also confirmed I can also still receive incoming calls... I don't use the music app and have it disabled so I didn't check that... so something doesn't jive with what you guys are apparently seeing. Maybe there's something else the camera specifically is dependent on and not S Voice *directly*?
For reference, here's what I currently have disabled... I think 2 or 3 of them I did through Titanium, the rest are just standard "system" disabled... I also have a few other things Greenified, but this is just what's outright disabled...

I moved the S-Voice apk out of the system folder when I tried it, I wouldn't think that it would make a difference versus freezing it though, but maybe that is possible? I didn't do a reboot when I tried, but I would think that if it had no relation to it, it shouldn't matter?
If I disable Svoice and try and take a pic with voice it force closes.

Hi,
I really like to create photosphere photos (not just panorama photos, real photosphere, where you can look upside and downside too) with my mobile, but I can't find working application for XZ1 Compact. I always use for this Google Camera (an old version, 4.2 I guess) but it's freezing on this mobile, while I try to make photosphere. New Google Camera won't work on our mobile and I can't find any 3rd party application to do this. I tried this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sphere&hl=cs, the only one I have found, but it has really bad rating and also I can't go throw it's login page... I will be greatfull for any suggestion
Thanks
I'm using Google Camera too, version 4.4.020 (from august 2017). I found it on apkmirror. I'm not experiencing any freeze with it, just a little slowness when it's elaborating the photo, but nothing else.
As of other apps, the very few I tried in the past (with a Z1 Compact mostly) didn't do a good work, so they were uninstalled in minutes.
Finally, I found and tried Google Camera 5.1 apk from Google Pixel and it's working fine with my phone
Ok so, I have a little bit of a strange issue I'm trying to solve, what I do for a living is pre-sale inspections for cars and trucks, and I use an LG tablet to do these inspections, and sometimes the tablet will run out of juice or I'll just plain forget the thing, which isn't a problem, I can use the phone (note 9) just the same, the issue comes in when it's time to upload the photos, the company is particular about the pictures being in a certain order, and the LG tablet will upload photos in whatever order you select the photos, as where the note 9 just lobs them up in whatever order it feels like, and I've come to conclusion it's the gallery app that has that functionality due to the fact that my V30+ that I had just before my note 9 had no problem uploading the photos in the same order I selected them, the V30 had the exact same gallery app as the LG tablet I use at work.
So I thought "Ok, I'll just hunt down the LG gallery APK and install it on the note 9... but for some reason the app won't install on the note, I start the install, it go's all the way through the setup and then suddenly "app not installed" I Don't know what the problem is, But I guess my question is, does anyone know how I can "force" it to install, or a gallery/picture manager that will upload photos in the same order you select them?

The note 9 already had an app edith the same name. Also LG may have made modifications go their gallery app, causing it not to work on any other non lg crevice.
Have you tried using Google Photos? Has auto backup no matter which device you're using.
