Got a weird one here, if I get a message, and android auto reads it to me, auto then asks "do you want to reply yes or no" ... however, even though the android auto bar shows waiting for a response, I say Yes, and nothing ... as if it is not picking my voice up
However, if after the message is read ... I then say OK Google, and dictate the message, it picks up what I am saying, and send the message
If it would not pick my voice up at all, then yeah, that would be the problem, but only when replying seems a bit weird
Anybody seen this, or got any ideas?
Thanks
Steve
i can reply to messages but i can't initiate them. whether it be whats app, messages or making phone calls, when i try to send or call, google voice says "i'm sorry, i don't understand." i've tried installing older versions of AA, but since i'm working off a tablet, i have to install the "android auto for phone screen" app, which brings me back to the latest configuration. i'm using Emil Borconi's "head unit reloaded app" as well, but nothing helps. anyone experience this and can suggest a workaround?

Hi Steve,
it seems your problem is very similar to mine.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/realme-x2-pro/help/answer-to-text-message-using-android-t4186189
I've tried everything that came to my mind but nothing solved the issue.
I've cleared the Cache of :
-Android auto
-Google
-Gboard
Also I've installed the "Android Auto for phone" App.
All these measures helped for a while but the issue finally came back.
I've read that other companies phones such as Samsung S10 faced the same issue but it seems to be solved for them now. I wrote an email to Realme Support 2 months ago but they never replied.
I'm still searching for a solution but... no joy for the moment.

Hey guys- i am hoping you could help me with this wierd problem. I have an ATT sim in an unlocked cingular phone. Everything works great, except lately, the voice mail indicator wont go away, even when i have none. If i click on it, it just says new voice message, and thats it. Going into my voice mail confirms i have nothing waiting for me.. basically, i am really lost.
Any advice? It has gone under numberous resets, and still shows it. It isn't a big issue, but it has meant i have missed voicemails i should have been told about (since it will never alert me to new ones now).
Thanks guys.
i have had the same problem, unfortiently ATT/Cingular voicemail system is retarded, so what i did is i called Cingular.ATT and i told them to reset my voicemail account, and then it worked fine, but a little while later i had the same problem again, and i found out when you recieve a message you press "7" to delete it and then press "*" to confirm DO NOT PRESS END, press "*" as the system tells you, and then you should be fine!!
Hi everyone. This is not a big problem or anything, but I still haven't found a solution. On my LG from WIND, android version 2.2.2 (the P999, so not sure if I should've posted this in the G2X forum), when i use voice control to send a message, after saying the message, there is an option to add more to the message. However when I press the little mic, nothing happens. I have seen the tutorial vid, and the recording just doesn't start for me.
As I said, not a huge issue, but would be nice if somebody knows the solution.

Haven't really tried sending messages via voice. I've been off stock FW (I have a p990) for a while so I can't really verify that on LG's messaging app.
hmm. i figured it would be a tough one. thanks anyway though.
So here's my story. A couple of weeks back I had started to notice that my phone wasn't ringing when people were calling me. Through a bunch of troubleshooting found out that it seems to be my google voice account that is causing my calls to go directly to google voice. I also use google voice on my tablet as it is a lot nicer to do stuff on the bigger screen. When i looked under the settings found there was something about (Sorry this is weird) "dogfood" settings. When i clicked on it it said something about sending feedback. I backed out from there. (A little freaked out as to what that might do.) Did not have this "setting" on the phone. Needless to say I un-installed wiped the tablet. Did the same with the hero. Put new roms on both and I would be able to receive calls for a short period of time. Then after a couple of calls it would start to send calls to voicemail again and I wouldn't be able to make calls out. So finally took google voice off of both the tablet and phone and disabled google voice and now I can make and receive calls.
My problem is really like google voice and want to use it. Anyway around this? Part of the reason that I'm asking is that I see Matt uses google voice too and was wondering if anyone else had been having this problem. I don't know if there is any other app that works similarly if anyone has any suggestions let me know.
Sorry for the long post but its kinda weird and didn't wanna post "Google voice f-ed my phone" and then have to walk everyone through the troubleshooting I had already done.
Thanks.
OK this is going to sound stupid and quite obvious but..in the phone app> menu>more>settings>do not disturb. Is that off or on?
I have been using G-voice for a while now and I have never had any issues. But I do have that "dogfood" under menu on the phone app.
I remember checking on that a few different times because I remembered reading about it some time ago. I don't think that was it. It seems like someone was having trouble with that on the with the aosp/cm thread a long time ago. I was concerned with that dogfood thing but maybe it is nothing. just google having fun.
I will check on the settings thing and flash to DX and test some more.
Thanks for the info. Will let you know.

I have a good question... When you installed Google Voice at the setup screen did you hit Next at the first screen that mentions Sprint integration? This is most likely what is causing it sir. Try reinstalling GV. Then open it. When that prompt comes up again hit Skip this time. Then following the remaining instructions. It should work perfectly after this.
It sounds like an initial setup issue. I would reinstall the application again. I've been using GV without any issues.
Actually got it working sorry for not posting back. After formatting boot, system, etc. It started working correctly. Must have been something that wasn't getting erased during the normal wiping between roms.
Google Voice issues.
I too had similar problems and finally thought of going into my actual Google account and changing how Google voice handles my calls. Works ever since I did that.

I don't know how many times I had to re-install GV on my and my friends' phones before remembering that trying to integrate with Sprint's Visual Voicemail just doesn't work..

You can integrate, but you might need to go into the actual account (not the app) and make sure that it is set up not to ring to the phone and not the internet number (or whatever that option is). My issue, besides every text message going through GV, was that I couldn't make an international call. I had a credit but it would never go through AND I couldn't make a call without it using GV even when I told it not to. Maybe I should have tried to go into the account to check on that too? LOL I went back to just using GV as my voicemail.
They fubarred this whole integration. In theory it sounded good but update after update they still don't get it.
My Moto Voice seems to be playing up. I've only properly noticed it today.
Here's how it goes when the device is sleeping.
Me: What's up Moto X
Voice: beep
Me: Send text to wife
Voice: Ok. What's your message?
Me: hello
Voice: Ok sending. Say or type a pin.
Me: 1234
Screen says 'message sent' but it doesn't send the message!!
Same problem when I ask it to set a timer!
I'm seeing the same problem on a Samsung SG3. There is a recently introduced bug in the recent Search update. This was reported on Android Central. Article here.
I'm glad to see it formally reported, I have been searching the heck out of it and coming up with nothing. I've reinstalled GNL, Search & Hangouts to no avail.
In my case, when using Voice Command for a text, I get a "no SMS app installed" error, despite having Hangouts as my default message app.
I'm hoping they get this sorted quickly. My phone has had this bug for the past week or two.
It's not your brand new phone acting up, it's Search software bugs.
Right I changed my launch phrase to something else and now I can set a timer. but sending a message still not working. I'm running the stock Messaging app. Anyone else experiencing this??
Messaging still not working when using Moto Voice. I've note opened a support case with Motorola. I've made sure Messaging is the default app, used different launch phrases, tried restarting my phone.
Anyone else experiencing this?
My voice command text messaging is back. I recieved a Gmail update the other day, probably serendipity. I tried voice command texting today & it worked! I can also set an alarm via voice command, but not the countdown timer. The alarm is used for all timer sets now. Go figure, maybe server side on Google's part.
Motorola advised me to restart in safe mode and try again but no luck.
Now they're advising me to do a factory reset of the phone but I'm reluctant to do this as I'll lose ALL my settings and apps. Will try and make some time tonight or tomorrow to perform this. Will need to make a list of all my apps and folders I've created.
Still no go? That kind of stinks. They're just telling you the standards, factory reset, etc. Your apps should come flying back as you log back into your Google account after a factory reset. It's just time consuming to factory reset.
Moto Voice just released an update a little while ago. Give that a try.
I've managed to fix the issue after narrowing it down.
It was only not working when texting my wife. It worked for others.
I deleted her number from Contacts app and created it again and now it's working perfectly.
The Moto Voice update didn't make a difference as I tried that. Didn't bother with a factory reset in the end as it just takes too long and pointless.
Hopefully this helps others who get the same issue.
Hello Mandy,
I'm emailing back because of the issue with the bluetooth.apk. I notice on the new firmware (May 25) they completely took away the actual bluetooth selection in settings and made it completely dependent on the bluetooth.apk your company created. This would be ok, however the application doesnt allow you to connect OBD2. Especially since the device (OBD2) doesnt allow you to change the password/pin. It keeps saying that the device has disconnected.
Also, it would seem as though that the bluetooth.apk doesnt send ANY information back to the phone to tell it to start a call. This is suppose to happen. I should be able to dial a number through the bluetooth.apk or even through "Ok Google" command and it send the information to the phone but it doesn't. Also, there should be a text messaging app that is similar in the process except it should depend solely on our voices to type the message and send via bluetooth to our phone and then send to the contact. This would be a true hands free app that everyone is looking for.
The Bluetooth app should be getting contact updates from google sync contact but some how this has been a problem since day one, but never addressed. I'm going to go ahead and post this in the forum.carjoying.com forums, but also post it to xda-developers.com forums to see who else is having these issues. I was actually not happy when I found out the new rom update (25may2017) had more issues that the last firmware update.

Ok guys, I know that there is a modded bluetooth apk someone is passing around, however that app keeps causing me to have feedback problems. When making a call, the receiver gets loud feedback on their end.
If would be awesome if I could get a lot of you to email in if you havent already about the bluetooth.apk. It sucks and needs to be fix. Let me know if I should have done something different. Thanks.
