There was an interesting article on xda today about an app that should take care of the gms install in a much nicer way. You'll still need to downgrade if necessary though.
I've not tried it as I already have gms but it's worth a look.

heard about it today, seems to be a good initiative and quick easy to use

Do you have notifications from outlook or what'sapp?
Downgrade from 11.0.0.118 to10.0.0 154 then 10.0.0.131...install thru googlefier, then upgrade to 154,then 11.0.0.118...
Everything working, notifications... Except which i noticed so far: pay application for my bank and seems to me Gmail need to check next days about notification and push timing..
Also interested about push notifications within apps: Gmail...etc..

I don't use these apps, so I don't know unfortunately.
Whatsup and messenger notifications works... Gmail sometimes... I use blue mail as a backup... I think syncing is not working properly... Manual sync working
Getting gms on is easy but the question is does notifications work 100 % without gsf freeze?? Looks like all is not taking about this in their videos?

After downgrading to 131, how did you update to 154? I already downgraded and installed GMS, but when I check on software update, it says no updates found.

When I bought the device I checked to make sure there was no Facebook bundled into the OS. I bought the P30 Pro in Hong Kong. Upon leaving later I checked my apps and Facebook appeared with no uninstall option. WTF? I did not download or install Facebook on it and checked to make sure that when I bought it that it did not have Facebook on it.
More info can be seen here..
https://uk.community.huawei.com/sof...alled-with-no-uninstall-option-4373#post23629
Huawei is either dishonest with uninstall option or someone is really stupid doing the programming. See link above for more info. If you uninstall something it should not be able to come back period. If I the garbage was thrown away outside in the garbage dumpster I should not see it back in my house again and if I deleted, uninstalled or had the app thrown away it should not pop back on again in my smartphone. I have never deleted an app in my iPhone only to see it after present in my app list Did Facebook pay Huawei money to make sure it can not be uninstalled? Why is it that in the actually Google App Play Store it can only be disabled but in the Huawei App Store it can be deleted only to then pop back up again when Huawei app is disabled?
This is not the Facebook App, this is Facebook services. It was there from the beginning, same as with the P20 Pro before. You can uninstall it easily via ADB.

Isn't Root required to use ADB?
A simple Google search can guide you on how to remove it via ADB. Facebook and it's framework services are bundled in almost every global version phones now. I had it in my S10 plus as well. Just disable them if you don't want to remove it.
No root required

That looks a bit complicated..
We already know that anything related to Facebook and disable is useless. If it can not be uninstalled then something is up.
I just watched the video you linked. If you go to the 1 minute and 30 second mark you will hear that he says we are not actually uninstalling the app but are hiding it from the user which is exactly what the Huawei Gallery app did.
It‘s not complicated. And you are not disabling it, you are UNINSTALLING it with adb FROM THE CURRENT USER. That means it is not removed from the device but uninstalled for your user account. Like windows can do, or mac os. No more facebook services, then, unless you reset or install a major update.

If you only disabled it then yeah , it probably returned after the update. If you remove it via adb, then it won't come back. Facebook and its services are standard now in most of the phones not only huawei.
I wonder how much money Facebook paid Huawei? for additional Spyware to be built into their OS with no straight out uninstall option for end users ?

Hi guys
I have a persistent problem with my p30 pro. I get notifications very late or not at all only if I open the app (whatsapp, messenger, email etc) then I get all messages at once. Its very frustrating because I had some important ones sometimes. Is there any fix for this? Anyone having same problems at all?
Also after I cleaned up some bloatware, I am not able to log in my mobile banking app. Is there any package I have to install back?
Please help... Thank you very much.

As you have a chinese version of the phone and you installed the GMS(if you did for having Google services) separately, therefore your notifications won't work properly, because many apps notifications are GMS related and your phone might not be Google certified. The same problem is present on P40 / P40 Pro users that bought the phone without GSM preinstalled and tried (some of them managed to install it, some of then didn't) to make notifications work, but they are out of luck. There are some replacing apps for email or messages, but need testing.
Your mobile apps were working before removing bloatware? If your answer is yes, remember what you removed (if you used my guide in order to remove, you can see there the way to reinstall the apps WITHOUT Factory Reset your device) and reinstall them using ADB.
Cheers,
SilviuO

I was thinking to do a factory reset and start fresh again but realized that the mobile banking still lets me use the mobile token only to sign payments. Reinstalling the bank app requires a bank visit in person, for them to authorize the app with a code(stupid if you ask me, should be done by phone as well).

BTW if I install for example Evie launcher and use adb to remove huawei launcher would it work after reboot ? And if I mess things up would I fix them with factory reset ? Just don't want to brick the phone.

Awkward about the bank app (which bank is it)? Can't you do it over the internet, regardless the lockdown period we're on? Like they do it when you want to create an new acount (videocall, you ID's...)?
If you remove the default launcher, the chances to get errors are pretty big . And YES, if you mess up things on it, you can Factory Reset the device and all is back, like when you unboxed your phone.

Both installing from backup or APK lead to an error when opening LzPlay. It just shows a single blue button and closes when you press it. I think the error is about the device not being supported, but the translation is really bad.

I have a successful GMS installation. Of course push notification doesn't work well. If I follow your approach of disabling GSF (not reinstalling), will that fix the push problem? If I re-enable GSF late on, will it bring errors back to GMS? Thanks!

Hello community, I have manage around 2 weeks ago to get working the Google services on my p40Pro. What I would like is to have the push notifications working even if the playstore doesn't work. Is there any options out there on this?
I saw new guides out there but they seem to start where the device doesn't have the GMS on it.
Would please anyone guide me on this journey? I am a bit confused and dont want to mess up what I have at the moment on my phone.
Thank you .

i have no problem with my gps. but i cant guarantee this will work on you. You have to finished gms installation with working playstore and gps (i use another method for this). Open and use/play all apps which are gps dependent. Maps, online transportation etc. After a couples hours then i disabled my gsf. My gps still work fine until now. it's been 6 days now

has anyone tried to upgrade the P40 firmware after that?
Are the GMS still working after the upgrade?
tho this process is working even a bit weird when come the part to reboot, etc.. but then all fine.
my FW is .121
I upgraded to 154 after installing gms and no issues so far.
anyone tried to go on EMUI 176 after this GMS installation?
btw, I was quite ok with this GMS install, but in my case, at the beginning Google Maps was taking a very long time before finding my location, quite not usable. Since now few days, maybe a week or two this is as fast as for any normal phones. Maybe explained by an App asking me to upgrade Google Service recently.
Contacts are still not synced and Teams provide no notigication, either for chat or calls which is a bit disapointing...
I'm on 176 no issues so far
Bought P40 Pro today, used this method to install gapps while phone still was on EMUI 10, updated all the way to EMUI 11 (11.0.0.168), working good.
Ahhg mine came with 10 and I let it upgrade to 11 straightaway without realising that would be game over for getting my old aps to work

you either open the private model or have cloned app, you have to turn off the private model or clone app function to reinstall the Google Play Service and Play Store. And after the install, pls do not update your Play Service. If you do so, the device will run into device is not certified by google again.

What i heard from my friend is that you can ignore and disable the Google service fail notification when you have twin apps, it won't affect your Play service. As long as you dont update the play service, its should be fine
the whatsapp needs the gapps to run, load backup , etc. I try parallel and gets the same error, play services starts to send error.
