Hi guys, does anyone know what this update does? It is small (164 mb or so), this is on top of the one ui 2.5 which i got a few weeks earlier. It only said it contains funcionality and stability improvements, phone is still on the same october security patch. What could be the reason for this update? I have a feeling that this was not planned.
Maybe camera stability updates.
Not sure, I know that once I got the One Ui 2.5 update I started to experience random reboots which has never happened before. I hope it fixes whatever is causing that.
This update broke my phone - went from stable to "no sim" every 20 minutes... so now I have to reboot every 20 minutes.
Tread lightly!

My phone has been on (has not turned off or restarted) in 80+ days. Nothing much else to share. Still working great! The only issue I have noticed is that my battery is dying a lot faster than before. May be related to not restarting, but I'm not sure.
What about during OTA updates?

Hey! That is the downfall. I had not received an OTA update since I flashed to a UK version (for the fingerprint scanner).
I ended up restarting the phone after 100 days. Phone did a great job. Also, I recently flashed another custom firmware so that I could acquire the September 2018 update. The battery life on this phone is incredible (after the September update).
Hello guys.
I own an xt1800, and pretty happy with it.
It came out of the box with Android 7.1, and got updated to 8.1 via ota sometida months ago.
What I'm noticing is that the phone gets sluggish after 100+ hours of be powered on, this did not happen in 7.1
If I restart the phone everything goes back to normal, so it's something related to the os.
What do I mean by sluggish? For example if you open chrome, it can be unresponsive for some seconds and then comes to life. If you are loading a webpage and scrolling, it can freeze for a few seconds and then continue working...
This is not exclusive of chrome, other apps suffer from this as well (such as Gboard)
Many security patches had been applied since the 8.1 upgrade, but none of them fixed the issue.
The upgrade was done via OTA.
Have you experienced something like this?
I used to have a Moto X 1st Gen, and the stock/original firmware (4.2.2) was the best version of the phone. It got updated to 4.4, 4.4.4 and 5.1 but they all had some issues the 4.2.2 didn't.
I'm wondering if you are not supposed to upgrade a Motorola phone, since I'm experiencing something like that with this phone as well.
Any ideas?
Thank you.
So years ago like Samsung s3 days there was maybe 2 updates a year one would be a complete change form gingerbread to whatever and maybe one to fix a problem with a known bug and that was it.
The worst thing that could happen is you would side load an apk and it would be a rogue app. You would delete it but it would be hidden deeper in the system folders and causing ads and battery drain.
So now in 2019 we now have almost monthly security updates. My question is who is trying to take over my phone? Why and how? Is this even a thing or is it just privacy protection laws going over the top ?
I've rolled back from Pie to oreo and I think I'm on August security patch. So I'm sitting here waiting for the takeover. And I think I could bet my bollocks to a barn dance that nothing is going to happen.
Thoughts????

Good day.
Have anyone experienced same problems with the Huawei P9? My phone is getting more and more laggier, slow, for example, I click on messanger head and it opens after 3 seconds or more, stuttering, camera very slow, google maps is almost unusable sometimes (with downloaded maps), when I type the taps are "registered" a second later, but the whole text is written ... The phone is still under warranty. Did the factory reset and nothing has changed. Antutu scores vary, from 85k-110k (below average), the phone rarely gets hot ...
Did anyone experience this and maybe knows the cause?
Thank you all in advance.

Noticed the same on my P9 Plus running the latest CN firmware (B538 - Dec18 Security Patch).
After several months I threw in the towel and went back to B535 (Sept Patch) which is more stable.
I noticed general slowness, as you did, phone restarting if i used the camera at anything under 30% battery, increasingly bad battery life in general (<40% by lunch time vs ~55-60% previously).
Since flashing the older firmware, it's been back to normal again, but it's only been a week, so we'll see how it fares after a month or so.
I'd suggest rolling back to the last 'good' firmware you had, and seeing how you go.
As the title says....
Still only Android 9, as expected (PKQ1.190321.001).
I have just received it too Trying and trying for the update for hours and finally it popped up on my phone a few moments ago!
Security patch is a shocker, I'm not seeing anything else different though but hopefully they don't introduce any bugs or problems
notification for update also displayed on our handset. it doesn't seem to come with much changes.,
