note 9 no service issue - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Hi guys, I've tried reaching out to the Samsung members community, seems no one has a fix. (https://us.community.samsung.com/t5...sung-galaxy-A70-no-network/m-p/1504196#M37558)
Problem: Woke up a morning, realized the phone is no longer picking up service. No aftermarket changes were done to the phone, I literally didn't install or making any changes to the phone over the night period, when this happened. No software were updated etc. The phone was about 6 months out of warranty.
Tried: Contacting Samsung members, email etc, but no updates. Lately I found the forum, linked above, where other used of different models of phones are having the same issue.
I also tried safe mode, resetting setting, then factory restore and finally flashing the phone using odin (respectively). Absolutely nothing has worked so far.
Now I'm here asking for help. I strongly believe that it has some sort of software issue which can fix this problem without actually taking apart the phone to change the antenna hardware etc.

Simcard is fine? Imeis are intact?

Reboot problem

Hey guys, I've got a problem and am hoping the minds at XDA can help.
My brother and I both have a Nexus One and both have unlocked bootloaders. I've never had a problem installing custom roms or restoring back to the shipping rom, or suffered any problems whatsoever.
However his phone, suffers random reboots all the time. I unlocked his bootloader and from the very first Rom we had problems. I double-checked my methods and even tested it again on my phone with no problem whatsoever. So, he got back into town today and I restored his phone to the shipping rom (userdata, boot, system, radio, etc.) It still randomly reboots. I thought it might have been a bad battery and swapped it out with a different one, and I was able to mess around longer with the phone, but it still rebooted on its own accord.
I told him he could call HTC, but more than likely he would have to pay 180 dollars to replace the motherboard on the phone. He says he'll just deal with the random reboots instead of the possibility of paying the money.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem could be, because after reflashing the shipping rom I'm out of ideas. Another odd thing I noticed with his phone from the get-go was the haptic feedback and vibrations in general, they were barely noticeable, almost non-existent as compared to my and my friend's nexus one.

[Q] All vibration stopped working and I can't fix it

Out of the blue yesterday, my AT&T Moto X stopped vibrating. I noticed it first with the soft keys (home, back etc) but it affects everything from vibrating on ringing, to enabling silent mode, to unlocking with active display, to games.
I've tried rebooting and toggling vibration in settings. I've downloaded vibration tester apps from the Play Store. I only have the same ~70 or so apps that most of us use (dropbox, weather channel etc) and I don't run any obscure apps (less than 1000's of downloads), and I hadn't downloaded anything new for hours before the problem started.
I feel I've tried all the basic stuff, except factory reset, I don't think there's anything too obvious I'm overlooking.
So that leaves me facing either a hardware or software problem. I doubt its a problem with the physical vibration motor. Factory defects are so ridiculously rare that it should never be your first course of action. However, if it's a problem with the hardware I could try my local ATT Service Center. If it's a software problem, which seems much more likely, I could try a factory reset on the device. However it seemed a wise idea to post this question to the pros before I go down that road.
Appreciate any help you guys can offer.

I would try a factory reset if you done everything else. My wife's Galaxy S3 did the same thing after the update to 4.3. A factory reset fixed it.
my gf's at&t motox running 4.2 lost vibration too. after many many reboots it would randomly work, or work very weakly (so it wasn't a problem with the physical motor, maybe it was an electrical connection to the motor?).
it was covered under warranty. they gave her a code, she re-did motomaker, and returned her original broken phone in the box the new one came in.
I hate the vibration in this thing. I would love mine to stop lol

I just performed a standard factory reset on the device and the problem persists... No vibrations, anywhere.
Is there anything else I can try? or am i headed to a service center?

You can sbf back to 4.2.2. I had a connectivity problem and a factory reset didn't fix it. But going back to 4.2.2 and taking the OTA did.
All the files are in the Dev section. If the links are broken I have copies of everything I can share. Except the 4.2.2 file for att I have Verizon.

If that doesn't work then your only other option is a warranty claim. Or live with it I guess.
The final verdict:
With nothing else working (factory reset, safe mode etc) I took the device to the ATT service center. They replaced the device, attributing the problem to defective hardware. Still find it hard to believe it was actually the hardware, but I don't see any other conclusions to draw.
Thanks for everyone's help.

At least it worked out and you have a working phone again.
I am with this problem right now and i can´t fix it.
After i flashed CM13 without Gapps my Moto X 2nd (xt1097 brazil) all vibration stopped working.
I tried going back to stock rom 5.1, 6.0 and even NX 10.1 but with NX i can hear something vibrating the phone, so i eliminated the possibilite of a hardware malfunction.
I don´t know what to do...
please help

[Q] A very strange rebooting problem.

Regarding: Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini GT-I8190 - SIM unlocked version
Hello eveyone.
I'm having one of the strangest problems I've encountered with a phone before and I just can't seem to track down the problem. Please read this thread with an open mind as from what I can tell this is a unique issue that sounds like normal issues.
The main problem is that the phone keeps rebooting. From the get go this sounds like a normal issue with either the battery or power switch but here is the weird part...
It only happens when the phone is fully charged!
IBackground
I have had the phone since release and I have only ever used the stock rom that came with the phone. I don't really use phones much n general except for using it for calls texts and BBC news. I didn't even have a SD Card in it until after the problem started. Everything was running great, I never had any battery problems at all, and then a couple of weeks ago my phone contract expired with Orange and I decided that I would get a SIM only plan with EE.
While waiting for the SIM card to arrive in the post I charged my phone up one day and noticed that I had to power on the device. The phone seemed to power on fine, I could use all features of the phone, but when I turned the screen off for more then 5 or 6 seconds the phone would restart. There would give no indication that it had turned off or that it had powered off in anyway. It would simply just be blank, I'd press the power switch, and it would vibrate once and begin its start up procedure as if it had been turned off completely.
Here is where it gets weird, the phone will keep cycling on its own like this until the battery drains itself through constant reboots until about 85% juice, at which point it begins to operate functionally.
I heard that some people say they had problems with the power switch. I figured that if it was the power switch it then the problem would be consistant and would continue giving me problems when the battery was below 85%. I think I can rule out the power switch as faulty. Naturally I came to the conclusion it must be software, perhaps an APP installed which was incompatible. I tried all sorts of things, regardless I came to the conclusion it needed to be factory reset. Factory reset didn't do anything, still does it. My next thought was Firmware, it must be the firmware that was corrupt. I went through tutorials and rooted my phone, installed recovery software and ended up installing Cyanogenmod 11 (Which looks really beautiful btw, wish I had done that sooner) and buying an SD Card too do so. Still the problem persists! I read that some people had problems with swelling batteries, I replaced the battery completely just incase. £10 wasted, still does it.
At this point I'm starting to get confused. I started thinking perhaps it was the cable providing too much charge to the device, over charging somehow. Tried a different cable and a different power source. Still the poblem persists. I made sure there was no dirt in any of the connectors incase that was causing something. No joy.
So to summerize:
1. Factory Reset
2. Replaced Battery
3. Changed power leads
4. Cleaned device
5. Flashed to completely new firmware
I've completely run out of ideas on what it could be. Why would the phone operate absolutely fine under 85% power? Its just weird! I'd appreciate any help some one could provide me. I've not seen any one else with this problem on the internet. Please let me know what you guys think.
Thanks
Craig.

Sorry to hear about this man!
I am completely stumped on this one! You've basically done all the basic solutions but to no avail. I had a problem similar to this where my device would reboot randomly, whenever it wanted to and in my case, the solution was to buy a new battery and that actually worked. I've had the battery for almost 2/3 months now and it's still going strong.
Back to your problem, I honestly don't know of a solution. I really wish I could be of help but as I said, you've already tried the basic solutions.
Again, sorry to not be of much help!

I think I have the same problem as you did. After suddenly dropping and rebooting, my battery level jumps back up when the phone starts, and again, and again. The phone is functioning normally only when plugged in. I also presume that it is a battery problem, but the fact that the battery level rises back after dropping, makes me wonder.
EDIT: Problem solved with buying a new battery.
Sorry to jump in, just curious, did you solved this? If you do, hope to hear your solution, might help others in future

Very low volume in calls.

Hello. First time poster.
I'm pretty upset with Huawei. You wait months for an (official) update, and then they send one (one that has already been superseded) that is so buggy that it makes the phone useless.
I have been updated to B162, about a week ago, and have had various problems ever since. Wi-fi disappearing, phone freezing, Google Play misbehaving, being unable to link to my Google account, but for me the worst is the lack of sound when being and making calls. I either have to use bluetooth or loud speaker, neither are particularly good solutions.
I call Huawei and they can take it back and repair, but this takes 8-10 working days. I don't happen to have a working alternate phone at the moment, as the P9 that the P10 replaced got crushed. Or as Huawei say, I can always wait for the next update which my IMEI is due at some stage - that could be months.
Is there a solution to this? If I use Firmware Finder, but I believe it invalidates the warranty and there is no guarantee that it will solve the problem. Anyone come across this before??
So basically, if I am going to be without a phone for 2-3 weeks, I might as well just buy a new one! Not a great situation.
I guess you already tried a factory reset?
Applying FF doesn't void warranty. Make sure you pick the right region (e.g. C432) and model codes (e.g. VTR-L09). Also check with IMEI if the update is approved for your device.
Yup done 2 factory resets as the first one seemed to refuse to recognise my Google account.
It just froze again, but this time, for the first time I have seen, a box flashed up saying "Settings not responding". Do I want to wait etc. So I can see setting freezing the handset and pretty much everything else, maybe even the volume. I am in no way technically proficient, but I guess I've got a corruption somewhere along the line. Is there a way of reinstalling settings? Or is that part of the firmware?
You can try a 'software repair' by installing Huawei HiSuite on a PC and connect your phone.
I upgrade via FF to B185 and the freezing issues seem to have largely gone away. Still the sound is unusable, so I guess that is hardware and either the speaker blocked up or broken.

Question Mi 11 keeps on getting Dead Boot

So I recently updated to MIUI 14 and after using my 55w charger and playing some games, my device won't open anymore and it's just black screen, won't even charge (or what they called Dead Boot)
Then I have it fixed with a local tech, got to use it for 3-5 days tops, then it happened again. Tech says it was due to overheat. Now I am just so afraid to use MIUI 14 and wanted to know what's the best kernel and custom rom you can suggest? Also what are your suggestion to stop my phone from being "deadboot"? Thanks!
Mi 11 users have been experiencing the frustrating issue of their device getting stuck in a dead boot loop. This problem can occur due to various reasons, including an incompatible firmware update or faulty hardware. However, there are a few steps that you can take to try and fix this issue.
Firstly, try restarting your Mi 11 in safe mode by holding down the power button until the screen turns off and then pressing and holding the volume up key until your device starts in safe mode. If this doesn't work, you may need to reset your phone's settings completely or even perform a factory reset.
It's important to note that attempting these solutions may lead to data loss, so it's recommended that you back up all important files before proceeding with any troubleshooting steps.
If none of these methods work for fixing your Mi 11 dead boot issue, it's best to seek assistance from a professional repair service or contact Xiaomi customer support for further guidance.
Despite being frustrating at times, technical issues like this remind us of how much we rely on our smartphones every day. It also highlights the importance of taking care of our devices and keeping them updated regularly.

Thank you! Yeah it kinda sucks how faulty MIUI can be. I'm just so scared to use my phone now unless I found the best custom rom to use it daily again, and tweak it to stop from overheating (couldn't even use my 55w charger now).
I tried different methods before sending it to our local tech. Even draining it for a couple of days didn't work. I've been to more than 10 different tech but only 3 had tried to fixed it. Other says the cpu already needs replacements and such - but everything now looks great and I am happy some of my local techs are great on fixing this issue.
Just hopefully I can found other recommendations to stop this traumatic event from happening again.

Hey, there ain't really a "best" custom ROM tho, but they're all better than MIUI no matter what one you choose.
Just try out a bunch of them and see what's the best fit for you!
Hoping your phone doesn't break again
Ive had a problem after miui update too. Not as bad as yours but my speakers have stopped working rendering it unusable as I take a lot of calls. Only fix is using Bluetooth but I want it resolved so back to my Poco x3 pro. I'm currently in the process of unlocking the bootloader, just need to wait 6 more days.
A shame that warranty only ran out just over a week ago
I have installed custom ROMs before but our of desperation I asked if I could flash a stock rom with fastboot on a locked rom, but no reply and upon further research it just seems too risky. Rather wait the 7 days to unlock it.
