mysterious green dot appeared after update - Google Pixel 5 Questions & Answers

I'm on the November security update and I noticed that a small green dot appears only when I'm inside of a messaging app. It appears towards middle of the notification bar. It seems to react to any audio that's being played like a voice message. Does anyone else notice this? And what the hell is it.
I should mention that this mysterious Green Dot was not present in the October security patch.

It's the proximity sensor. Do you have Telegram installed? Go to settings and disable "Raise to Speak"
If you don't have Telegram installed, check if you have "Flip to Shh" enabled in device settings -> gestures. Disable it and check if that fixes it

Omg blyat !! Thank you
Telegram settings>Chat settings>Raise to speak DISABLE

Both settings you mentioned are disabled, and I still get the green dot.

Well no clue then, I'm sorry
Guess some app is keeping the sensor awake for some reason.

it's only when I'm playing messages though. No other time does that green dot ever show up.

That's correct behavior. It checks if you put your phone to your ear in order to disable the display

[Question] How can I change backlight button behaviour?

Hi, I'm on Amestris ROM (Jw1 odex) and I would like to ask if I can change backlight button behaviour. In stock roms, if leds are on and you are using the screen, they keep on. In roms like cm7/9/Miui, leds switch off after a couple of seconds (in ics you can even configurate how much time you want them to keep on). It's annoying to use the screen in an stock rom for writing or using the browser and seeing these buttons on, specially at night. The only way to disable them is to wait until they switch off and then start using the screen... Is there any way to change this behaviour?
Thanks!

How to enable knock knock to wake up phone?

Hi I have android 4.2 and i can't find the way to enable knock knock (double touch to wake phone) in settings. I saw it before but now I can't find it anymore. Can You help me?
Go to Settings > Smart Assistance > Motion Control and then enable double touch.
Sometimes you'll find that even after enabling double tap to unlock your phone doesn't unlock. I still don't know what is the reason but enabling gloves mode can help in this. (Though it is not a really good idea to keep that on because touch performance is compromised)
Ok thank you

[APP] All-In-One Gesture

Hey guys, just wanna share an app that I found to be very useful.
I always wanted to have a lock screen key at navbar so that I can lessen my power button usage while still able to lock screen at any moment. And also camera shortcut that allows me to launch camera anytime.
Now I can swipe from edge or double tap navbar to lock the screen, I can long press back button to launch camera as well.

Note: Root is required

Yea I think that is the issue. I forgot to mentioned on the first post. You have to root your phone to use its full functionality.

In Nougat, "app info" option was also in the icon menu when we depress and hold an applicatin icon.
Does anybody know how to put this in as well in Oreo?

How to make folders on the app screen on the Xperia Launcher?

Hello,
Just looking for help probably simple but can't seem to do it. Holding the application to hover over another just takes it to the home screen to place there but want to make folders on the application screen. Thanks

I had the same issue.
Look at home screen settings and enable add icons to startscreen, than you should be able to drop a icon on another to make a folder.
I have my unit set up with swedish so om not sure if the translation are correct.

Haha yeah cheers mate I thought that option was for adding new apps automatically to the homepage like an option I'm used to in Nova launcher. Reading the setting makes it obvious. Lol. Thanks
