While you're at it, think you can share the LAFs? I nuked mines without backing them.

Sure, will dump all partitions accessible via QFIL and TWRP
@lexih, @Omizuke, @ps3hacker3 - posted stock Sprint Pie (20g) partitions at Partition Backups thread

Thanks for letting us know. And Mega, it'll be easier to just copy it to my own. I struggle with GDrive.

I just saw that your backup is the one I dowloaded a while ago but it was incomplete.
Never got around to fully restoring my device with any of the backups 20f or g.

This backup completely restores the Sprint firmware, but before restoring it, you need to flash on android 9 open korea, why? Yes, because the OP Sprint section corresponds to the OP Korea section. prevents you from installing OP sprint) all other firmwares have an OP size less than OP sprint because of this it is impossible to install the sprint firmware! try and you will succeed! I myself was tormented with the installation until I did so!
Alex_XV6700,My recommendation is only valid if a crossflash was done !!!!

Sounds good, I will try that this weekend because this is my daily.
Which firmware would you recommend? The one for the V409, like so?
@lexih and yes I did cross flash to QA7 at first thinking this would unlock it (Silly me).
I will suggest a friend having the same issue as mine to try this out too, but would like your FW recommendation first.

Yes, that's right, you need to switch to open korea from QA7, I used these https://lg-firmwares.com/downloads-file/21683/V409NO20n_00_OPEN_KR_OP_0121, be careful when working in qfil! It is unnecessary to flash all the missing partitions - these are your imei, serial, userdata ...After turning on, the window with the decryption of userdata appears, boldly click, the userdata will be reset! It will take a long time to load, I don’t know why this is connected!and lastly, if the phone is not untied from the operator, then all these operations will not help - in this way untie it from the operator!Good luck!

@lexih would you say that this process will definitely get me back to Sprint "stockish". What I am aiming for is to get my phone SIM Unlocked through the UICC unlock in stock rom. My phone is paid in full and Clean ESN.

Okay, so I finally decided to ditch AT&T and go full Paranoid (This is not my first flashing attempt with Android devices). Got the latest version, etc. Load into BootStrap and wipe everything. Go to install PA and for some reason I had neglected to tell my build.prop (ro.product.device/name) is supposed to be "jactivelteatt"/"jactivelteuc" and not "SN-M9009". So when I started the flash process, immediate error and now I'm stuck with a phone with no OS or bootloader and can not, for the life of me, find a ROM to flash with .MD5 or .TAR that will work with ODIN. I did find "Oneclick_I537UCUAMF1" that gets all the way to the end and fails. Tried multiple times with multiple cables.
Please if anyone has any idea's, please help.

Oh god are you on the US version (SGH-I537)? If you're on the international version (I9295) ignore this post but otherwise, you need to read and take in my short rant. Trust me I wish this weren't the case, but it is, and it's important:
The Galaxy S4 Active i537 has a locked bootloader. There is no way around this, no ifs ands or buts. You simply cannot flash custom ROMs or recoveries. That's it, end of story as far as CM, CWM, AOSP and such things are concerned. That being said there is a sort of recovery called SafeStrap which you can use to make nandroid backups, flash mods and STOCK-BASED roms, but it's not a true custom recovery in the sense that we had been used to, because of this locked bootloader nightmare.
OK so I think you're gonna want to check out this thread. It's all about how to install any firmware from download mode, I think you're gonna have to go with NE3 or NH3.
Let me reiterate. NO CUSTOM ROMS. NO CWM. No Paranoid, no cyanogenmod, no AOSP, no crossing go before going directly to jail. Sorry for the stupid joke but seriously, you have got to keep your phone on stock-based roms (of which there are unfortunately few).

You need to make sure you are flashing a version that is the same or more recent than the version you are currently on. You cannot downgrade your firmware or else you'll end up with a bootloop.

Hi, recently i managed to brick my Korean F340L G Flex so bad. I've tried almost everything software wise.
-The solution:
I'm planning to change the logic board from a Sprint LS995 model. I think it will work ok. Of course I'll have to some how get an unlock code in order to use it in Greece where I live.
I've seen in ebay some users providing for a small amount of money this code.
So, what do you think. Will it work as I'm thinking? Any comments, suggestions, guides welcome. Thanks
Here is a short story:
"Hello, to all, I'd like to share my experience and problem with my LG G Flex, as a last hope to find a solution to unbrick it.
I know that the talk here is about G2's, but I saw many users reviving their Flexes with OP's method.
So here is what I did in steps:
1)I rooted my Lg g flex F340L
2)New OTA, downloaded, but failed to install after reboot. The message was no OTAs for rooted devises
3)Tried to unroot, but with no success. Still no installation of OTA.
4)Found, and flashed the stock F340L rom , (had an EFS backup), from another user here(.tot file), with LGFlashTool.
5)SIM card was not recognized any more (Greece, Vodafone), so no calls. Did all the updates, but no SIM, still.
6)Hard reset, still no SIM.
7)Decided to flash stock F340K kdz rom, and install CWR. All good, SIM detected, OTA downloaded, but after reboot stuck at CWM nenu. Whatever I do just CWM.
8)No download mode, or usb support, just an LG FLEX unknown device. Got some drivers only to be seen as lenovo ADB device.
9)I found the test point on the motherboard and short circuit it. Got a qhsusb_bulk(qualcomm 9008) under COM ports, but not on a specific port.
10) No flash capability, and no partitions to try and flash the 10 or so, images. Ubundu, no luck with the partition detection either.
11)After many reboots and button long presses the CRW came back...again
Well as I can see, there is not so much support for the korean variants and I might have destroyed my phone. So, I need your advise in changing the motherboard. I found M/B's from AT&T and Sprint variants, to install to my F340L. I think it will work. After I will purchase an unlock code from lets say ebay to unlock it to all GSM networks ( I live in Greece).
What is CRW or CWR?
Are you referring to CWM? The recovery?
If you can boot into cwm your phone has a chance to be saved no need to change the mb.
By the way sprint doesnt give out unlock codes like att. There is an specific process to sim unlock sprints variant.

Yes sorry, CWM I was refering to. Well, since I have no other option at the moment. I'll try to find that specific process you've mentioned when I get the board(help or hint welcome)
As, for the M/B change, no system partitions are recognized in order to flash individual .images to unlock them.
If you can access CWM you dont need to flash the .img files for your phone. Instead you could flash a stock zip through adb sideload or flash twrp through sideload too. Twrp allows MTP use so someone using an F340K can help you with a stock backup and you can unbrick instead of changing board.

The only stock image I have is in .TOT file for the L variant. I also have stock .kdz file for the K variant. I can sideload to /sdcard/0/ directory only, if that helps. I'll try to find twrp.zip and try it. But the main problem is to find stock rom in .zip format.

Only For Snapdragon Variants, Its The Universal Firmware, Its Free Of Carrier Bloat But Has Some Samsung Useless Apps.
Not For Exynos Variants Like The Sm-g935f, Etc.

Hi Vincom, yes i have already read the article. the main reason im flashing the rom is because of the hidden DATA icon in the toggle screen. and also i want my phone to have the OREO update as well. this is my first samsung phone. i have experience in flashing ROMs in my xiaomi redmi 1s phone. so im a bit skeptical if i can do this on my own. this odin process is very new to me. so what is the worst thing that can happen it i brick my phone? can i do a hard reset and will it default to the stock AT&T ROM if ever?

yes and no, csc controls what bloatware and which settings are setup by default dependant on carrier and country, hence why this is a universal fw and not dependant on original csc files.
if u truly have the att s7edge g935a, which is what i had, then yes.

yup i tried that one the first time. thats when it gave me the error message sha256. then i tried the prince odin that gave me the error mmc something.
The author claims performance and battery improvements but has anyone that switched over really noticed that big of a improvement?
I mean i already disabled all the carrier bloat with adhell isn't that basically the same as installing this rom? Does the universal maybe have a different kernal/different system level tweaks?

Thanks a lot, this firmware works for me with the 3b patched odin on the first try.
I'm currently on rooted:
XQ-AT51_Customized UK_1321-7192_58.0.A.0.1040_R8A
Looking to update to:
XQ-AT51_Customized UK_1321-7192_58.0.A.3.31_R8A
What's the best way to do this?
Research seems to suggest delete all .TA files aswell as the userdata file and if that works, to flash an extracted/pactched boot.img that I've already prepped. Though some users mention that they then get a decryption error resulting in the need to fully wipe.
I'd be grateful to hear from anyone who has successfully updated their Xperia 1 ii (with Flashtool or newflasher?).
Many thanks
Bump - anyone successfully updated their rooted firmware yet?
I assumed by flashing to Customized UK we would still get updates pushed to the phone? I flashed my new device last week to 58.0.A.3.39 and assumed if I wanted to update it'd ask me through my settings. Do I have to manually do this now?

Hmm I thought that by being rooted/bootloader unlocked it's messed with the system updates. See attached, as Xperia Assist says there's an update available yet then clicking via Software Update it says I'm up to date.
I'm on 58.0.A.0.1040 customized UK and yet there's 58.0.A.3.39 available via Xperifirm
I updated my AT52 from 3.31 to 3.39 with newflasher. Worked fine. Haven't tried to remove the userdata file to not lose all my stuff though, gonna try that for the next update.
Basically I downloaded with xperifirm and just ran newflasher and went through the prompts, didn't remove any files because I wanted to flash all partitions. Then patched the boot.img from that firmware and flashed through fastboot.

Cheers. I'm curious if there's a way to update without wiping data, but I guess a good clean flash is not a bad thing, albeit timely

Removing userdata_X-FLASH-CUST-2389.sin from the directory before running newsflasher should be equivalent to a dirty flash. But I've never tried it since this is my first Sony device since the Z1.

I guess it's a whole new flash then. Backup and go again. Like you said. Timely

Thanks yeah I may try that, or just stick to clean flashes

Yup, though a thought is to perhaps get a sd card and use that for most data. Least that way when internal storage gets wiped, the sd card would be untouched. Not been able to do that for a while!

Feels good to have an sd card to put all your backups on again doesn't it haha. I will not miss having to back up the internal storage slowly through USB2.0 just in case I have to wipe the entire storage.
I'm going to try a dirty flash on the next firmware update and hopefully I don't soft brick it again. Not having TWRP is new and scary to me.
Bump
With an updated firmware slowly rolling out (the one adding the RAW support and July security update) patch) etc, anyone managed to update when bootloader unlocked and rooted, avoiding losing data?
If I have to do a clean flash it wouldn't be the end of the world but I would love to avoid the hassle of (even with the usage of Swift Backup etc) and little things like not losing my autobrightness settings which have been learning my usage etc
As others have said, delete the userdata file to make sure that partition isn't erased. I don't think dirty flashing is as a big of a deal as people are making it out to be nowadays.
Just make sure you extract and pre-patch the new boot image with Magisk before you flash.

Thanks for the response.
When the time comes I'll certainly give that a go, though will indeed br sure to make a full backup in case.
I'm still hoping for someone to comment confirming this method works as I've read that some users get a decryption error, but I'll give it a go soon and post back ?
Newflasher guy gets mad when you talk about anything other than flashing every file so I'll post my update here.
Removed persist.sin and userdata.sin from the 3.88 update and ran through newflasher v33. Booted right back up and lost no data. YMMV.
I'm no pro to all this but I rooted for WiFi calling when I first got the phone. The other day I saw the update for Raw on my phone and updated just fine!?

By "rooting" for WiFi calling did you just flash another customization or did you unlock the bootloader? AFAIK there's no reason to root for getting WiFi calling as flashing another firmware is the easiest way.

Do you mean to say you received at OTA update notification via the system update option when rooted? Or you did a manual flash via newflasher?
I'll shutup. I flashed my stock Xp1 ii from O2 XQ_AT51 to enable wificalling for Vodafone etc.

If you unlocked your bootloader then you will not be able to take OTAs. You do not need to have bootloader unlocked to flash another stock firmware (ie through flashtool or newflasher). You do need to have bootloader unlocked to obtain root privileges.

I unlocked my Xperia 1 II, downloaded the latest raw update from XperiFirm, deleted the userdata file, put the phone into download mode (vol. down + power), flashed via NewFlasher v33.
Phone booted up perfectly fine. Running the latest update and have raw option for all 3 cameras.
The only time your device will wipe is when you first unlock the bootloader. Otherwise, you shouldn't have any issues updating it.
I've recently purchased an XZ1c since my old z3c was basically falling apart at this point. (Would have kept it if the repair guy didn't royally screw things up.)
The phone is practically untouched physically and has been great for the past two weeks... It was when I tried taking pictures that I've noticed my first problem.
Green pictures had to reboot to see if the bootloader was unlocked and to my chagrin, the previous owner never told me they had unlocked the phone in the first place and didn't even know about DRM keys so those are lost.
I've rooted my old z3c before a long time ago and it was painless. Now with this phone, I'm having a bit of a problem and I'm hesitant to even try rooting it since I haven't rooted a phone since and I would prefer getting advices.
I am aware of the guide on rooting the phone and would have no problems following it if it wasn't for the fact that my phone's build was currently 47.1.A.12.270 and the guides use the .16.20 update but can't find the files to update to the September build. Model G8441
Since the phone is unlocked, I can't update through the normal means in order to get to that update or get 9.0 for that matter in order to do the root. Is there a guide on updating the phone to those before using the guide to root it? I haven't done this in a long time and don't remember anything. Thanks in advance!

Every time to you boot or reboot it should tell you it's been unlocked. I'd have sent it back as soon as I booted it up.

As you don't need to worry about your TA partition use the Flashtool or Newflasher to upgrade to Pie, flash TWRP, install Magisk, done.

I don't need to worry about going to .16.20 before upgrading to pie, just go directly?
If so, it's a lot easier than I thought. With my z3c I had to upgrade to a specific build prior rooting.
Just to make sure, the phone comes from the US so I should get the Customized US version for 47.2.A.11.228?

Sure. If you have issues with the fingerprint reader give some of these THREADS a read.

Thanks, I'm not really going to use the feature but if It causes problem, I'll look into it. My only problem now is finding and downloading the tft file for the update so I can flash but I'm having difficulty finding such thing.
I was able to download the DE version that is over 2 gigs. Does the version truly matter?

Open the flashtool, run Xperifirm and it's there.

Oh wow, even more proof I haven't done this in a while, I completely forgot about xperifirm, still have it on my computer, just need to update it. Now I feel dumb.
Thanks again for the reminder!
