Were you viewing the outer screen in the settings menu?

Sounds like you are using medium power mode. You have to create a Bixby routine "IF" start button tap "then" power mode.

[Q] How can I map the 'go to sleep' power widget option to a key or shortcut?

Like many others, I've got an issue with my power button. Thankfully, I can use the volume buttons to turn the screen on. I can also use the power widget option 'go to sleep' to turn the display off.
However, I would like to map 'go to sleep' to either a long-press of a button or a shortcut. Any ideas how I can do that? If needed, I do own Tasker.
Quick Boot - available in the Market.
That only powers off or reboots. I just want to turn the screen off.
Not 100% sure what you are after, but i use "screen off and lock" after my power button broke. It puts the button in the notification pulldown if you like, rather than having to have a shortcut, but you can do that too if you like.

Use of buttons and Canvas

Not entirely sure what I'm doing here but here's what I'd like to do. I use a Canvas watchface and I'd like to be able to hit the up button and see a weather center app or hit the down button and see some other app. Can I do that with Canvas/Pebble? How would I set that up?

1. Open the Glance phone app.
2. Click on Customize Watch.
3. Scroll to the bottom to the Button Mapping section.
4. There are four button press mapping options there. Set them to whatever app you want that has Glance support.
You can also set a single custom app launch if you have the app's UUID.

I've got a screen set up but I can't get the weather to work. Always says no connection. Weather is one thing I want accuracy in.
You can accomplish what your are looking for with AutoPebble and Tasker. AutoPebble allows Tasker to react to button presses on your Pebble watch. Tasker can then launch a different Pebble app (AutoPebble plugin action) or load a different Canvas watch face. I use this to cycle between 2 different Canvas watch faces with the bottom button and to load different apps with the top button (freeCaddie, Roku remote, or NavMe depending on other variables set in Tasker). I also use the middle button to launch PebbleTasker with a menu tree to get to several other Tasker tasks.

I am trying to do something similiar. I have figured out how to intercept button clicks from tasker. However, each button press while in canvas leads to a strong vibration. Do you know how the vibration can be changed? Also, how do I prevent canvas from not changing the watch face if I press the up/down buttons? Currently pressing the up button skips track in my mobile and changes watchface in canvas.
Thanks
Disable every watchface in the Canvas app except the one you are using.

This is just to prevent canvas from changing watchfaces, yeah? It still doesnt remove the vibration issue. I dont want the watch to vibrate each time i change the song...
Yes, this just prevents the watchface swap. As far as I know, there is no way you can disable the vibration.
I am trying to figure out TAsker/Pebble Tasker to be able to do the same thing. Tasker is way hard to use!!

Home screen rotation gone..

Hey guys, just did a master reset to refresh the phone as I have been using it since the day it came out and it was getting laggy and now the home screen wont rotate
I use that a lot since it scales perfect and the phone is great to hold in landscape. I also do not remember ever setting it up. The screen rotation is enabled but it wont do it. I downloaded some app that forces it but it takes too long, puts an icon on my task bar and takes up some RAM so I uninstalled it.
Any ideas?
On the home screen, right click and choose 'home screen settings', then uncheck 'portrait view only' and your home screen should rotate

How to lock screen without pressing power button?

Hi!
I'm wondering if I can lock my device without pressing the power button. In my galaxy s9+, I used the "custom navigation bar" app to add an invisible power button to the navigation bar, but this app CRASHED my note9!!!!
I spent 2 hours trying to solve the issue without losing my apps and stuff, successfully. Now I want to use another way to save my power button.
I installed an app called "home launcher" to use the home long press to call another app instead of google search, but every app to lock screen causes the fingerprint sensor to stop working without password.
I miss my old Xiaomi Mi 6
Someone knows how to do this?
you can install an app called "turn off screen (lock screen)" by redmanit from the play store. it gives you the option to put an icon on the homescreen or from your notifications drop down, press it and it'll lock your phone in 5 seconds. this is the only app i know of that works with the note 9's android 8.1
Nova launcher can do it as far as I know.
Installed a 3rd party screen off app. Using the widget Extended Date which then gives you the settings to show time/date/week/day/etc. There's a function to link to any app in this case screen off. Thus touching the date switches off the screen. Been using this setup way back when I still had my Note 2. Still works (both the screen off app and the widget).

Turn on the Assistant Menu. That has a lock button that will turn your screen off. It will not "lock" your phone, just turn off the screen. Screen locks @ whatever you've set as the lock out time (screen locks "x" number of seconds after pressing power button). If you want to "lock" it instantly, requiring password to open, I use Nova Launcher and a screen input gesture. That locks it instantly and requires, I think, your password - not your fingerprint.
See screenies for info.

you can use OHO+ without goodlock though, if you only need the lockscreen gesture.
OHO+ is a "standalone" app, luckily.
Screen lock button in navbar via good lock + navstar ?
