To anyone who has the stock ATT Tilt ROM, (or someone who has a ROM with all the original WM6 ringtones) would you please do me a big ole' favor and grab the ringtones from your phone, zip them up, and post them? I finally flashed my first ROM yesterday, and it's great, but it only has a couple ringtones to choose from, and none of them are the ones I used most from the stock rom.
It seems that the quickest and easiest way to grab the files I need is to connect the phone to the PC so you can explore that way, go to the \Windows directory, sort by File Type, scroll down to the "w's" and copy all the Windows Media Audio .wma files whose filenames start with "Ring - ...".
They should all be pretty small so I would think the total size of the zip file should end up being relatively small as well.
I'd be ever so grateful!

You're very welcome. Just trying to give back.
You're the best P1! Thanks!
P1, I just looked at your list. Very comprehensive, but I don't think you've got the one I used a lot. It was called Telephone Ring 3, I think. There was also Telephone Ring 1 and 2 that I didn't use as much. You don't have those I assume?
Would anyone be able to just post those 3 files from their Tilt?
Thanks again.

I just know in my head. No list that I know of.
hey guys.
Just a simple request to those who you have the time to do so.
I recently installed Gtrab's W4X WM6.5 Cooked Rom but didn't realise it had a lot of the ringtones included with the xperia missing.
I've searched the forums and found the odd file containing ringtones taken from handsets but they are different tones.
Could you please copy and zip all the ringtones from the Windows folder from a default Xperia rom and upload it to the internet for me please
Cheers,
Hyped
I need them too. can somebody please post them?
Thank you
Press me softly....
Thank you for your help, however, unfortunately, these are not the ringtones I need.
I'm not sure where they're saved but there are some ringtones called like Alarm1, Alarm2, Alarm3 and such. And it's in this location I need the ringtones. I think they are scattered throughout the Windows folder admist the system files.
So, could you possible collect and zip these please

Extract the rar file on your computer, connect device via active sync, once syncing click "explore" and your my documents folder should be visible, move the extracted mp3 ringtones to this folder. Hope that helps

There is a thread or two around here somewhere with a link to all the OEM ringtones / sounds etc. I'm not sure what it was titled though.
It was a rar file and nearly 38mB in size.

Is there any way to install additional fonts on Android? I don't want to replace the system font, I just want to make them available for use on the web. Is it as simple as drag and dropping them into a folder?

Did u find anything dude ??
I am also looking something similar...!!!
With JRSoft
If you're still looking, check the link in my sig.
edit - nevermind, thought you were looking for something else. Deja vu.
hey guys, I really don't like the keyclick sound that is Default for the Captivate. I don't want to turn it off, I would like to find/use a replacement.
Can anyone tell me how to replace this sound file? Also were is a good place to find replacements?
I can tell you how, but not where to find a replacement.
1) Grab a terminal emulator or Root Explorer (I prefer Root Explorer myself for this one).
2) Navigate to /system/media/audio/ui
3) If I'm correct in assuming that you mean the keyclick sound from browsing around menus and such in the phone then the file you want is "Effect_Tick.ogg"
4) Copy it to your sd card, and then to your computer and edit/replace it as you see fit. Just make sure it's the same audio length as the old one. Save it as an .ogg file or it won't work on the phone.
5) When putting it back onto the phone, make sure you make a BACKUP of the old one. Just rename the one that's already there with a ".bak" at the end. Then paste in your editing file.
6) Reboot and test it out.
Hope that works. I made that up off the top of my head cause I'm not about to try it out myself cause I turned the sound off in the settings. But it should work as that's the usual method of replacing any file on the phone. Good luck, let me know how it works out for you.
You are the man!!! That worked fantastic! I wasn't actually looking for the Effect_Tick, it was the TW_Touch sound that I wanted to replace, I found it in the folder by listening to them and figuring out which one it was.
THank you again, at least I know how to change something next time if needed
Wow, thank both of you. Never thought of changing the sound, but that would be hilarious to have a pew or pow sound. Think ofbeing a kid with two army men. Thanks guys.

Glad I could help. Also, FWIW, TW_Touch.ogg and Effect_Tick.ogg are the same sound. The only difference is the name, which actually makes TW_Touch a few bytes bigger.

Still trying to find some good ones. I am currently using the SIP.ogg sound found in the same folder as the others. Its more of a soft click sound. I am still looking for a really nice replacement though, so if anyone of you find one please share, as I will do the same.
You know the keyboard isn't making a click sound with Cog Rom. I wonder if its turned off somewhere in the ROM because I have keyboard clicks turned on but hear nothing.
I like to have regular dial tone for the dial key pad. Know how to fix this?
They are regular. The sound the same as every other phone I've used.
What do you really mean?
I used to have iphone 4 and the tone for each dial keypad little different sound

I would try and get them for you, but I haven't the slightest clue on how to convert the .caf file the iPhone uses to .ogg for Android. But looking around, there are some cool mods for dial tones out there. I found this one and now I want to do it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4J4RfiTi08Q

I FOUND A WAY!!!!
If anyone can provide with me a copy of the iPhones dial tone sounds, I can format them for our Captivates. Based off of what I'm seeing from my iTouch, the directory layout should be /System/Library/Audio/UISounds. I need all the files that start with dtmf. There should be 12 files in total.
Edit: I did the Daft Punk mod to my phone and it works great! I'm attaching the zip with the .ogg files inside and already renamed so you can just drop them on the phone. Remember to back up the original!

HA. Wrong. These are in iPhone format and not for our phones. My zipfile is for our phones.
I was just linking to the sounds you were looking for.
Anyhoo for some reason my keys don't make any sounds when i press them, any idea why? Would love to replace the stock sounds with the daft punk ones.
edit: n/m fixed that, now to load those daft punk sounds
Beat me to the answer, it's a seperate setting in the Sounds Menu. But now you know that yourself. I'm probably going to make a tutorial thread for this elsewhere in the forums in case anybody else is interested
The sounds seem to be mixed up, they don't match the keys in the video, seems like he rearranged them after posting that zip file. Trying to sort them now but its a pita since mpc barely plays them.
I know what you mean. I didn't bother trying to put them in the right order. It's just fun trying to play the song.
And smeltn, I'm writing up my tutorial on how to change the dial tone sounds and whatnot now and I'm giving you credit for the idea. Cause if not for you, I wouldn't have even bothered to do any of this.

HAHA thanks. Its fun playing around with them now that we know what to do. I just can't wait to see other peoples sounds.
Does anyone here know what to add and where to get a boot sound on your Z?
Is the "s filename.mp3" enough to add in the desc.txt?
Is this string placement specific to when the sound starts?
Limited to certain file extensions?
Is it supposed to stay in the media folder, or rename it something case sensitive / overwrite one existing
.ogg file in system/media/audio/ui-or notifications folder?
Need to edit build.prop?
Any help is highly appreciated
Surely someone must have already done this?
what do you mean by boot sound? The booting up sound?
Dont think many ppl cares abt the boot up sound i guess.
What u mean that

Hmm maybe I am alone
All I have found so far is a "bootsnd.sh" script that adds a few lines to build.prop, edits "init.local.rc" and adds a "bootsound" file to system/bin.
Then one would have to add a soundfile renamed to "android_audio.mp3" in system/media folder.
But this was all before jellybean.
Funny, I thought so many liked making their own bootanimations, why not a kickass playstation sound etc.to go with it?
