Odin + ROM available for Samsung S20 FE SM-G7810? - Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Questions & Answers

Bought an S20 FE in China. Has Google play services but had to download Google Play. Also has Chinese apps embedded like Baidu. Also random things won't work e.g. Voice wake up for Google Assistant, Netflix "not compatible with this device" in app store etc.
Would be ideal to install the standard international OS but don't want to brick the phone. Wondering if possible? Is there an Odin and ROM available?
Thanks

Already a real answer to this? I did order the S20 FE 5G , SM-G7810 from Hongkong.......

there are some S20 firmwares floating around on sammobile.com/firmwares but not for your specific model. The FW's have been cross compatible for the last 5 galaxy s devices so long that youre using the FW for the processor type you have. I have a 781u1, for which there isnt a FW available for downloading ATM. If its a qualcomm, you should be able to flash any other qualcomm based FW, but youll likely need patched Odin to do it so it can ignore the version errors that surely will crop up

I come from China, I bought the Chinese version s20fe(G7810CHC) and immediately brush the Hong Kong version ROM(G7810TGY) after

Hello. I live in Italy and will receive the same phone in the next few days. I have already downloaded the firmware for my country, but it is for the SM-G781B version, do you think I can flash it with Odin, or I get errors. I would like to do the operation, even before doing the first start, to make everything clean! What do you recommend, based on your experience? Or do I leave it like this and use it regularly? Thanks.

I also follow, I'm in Italy, in 15 days I'll get the:
SM-G7810 S20 FE 5G 8GB/128GB.
Have you discovered or tried how to put SM-G781B Region ITV Firmware?
This information will also be useful for other people who will find themselves in our situation in other countries!

Sorry, I can't be of help to you and other users, in the same conditions, but I will refuse delivery of the package! I decided to buy a European version SM-G781

Do you mean you flashed different region rom in to your Chinese s20fe and it works fine ?

According to past experience, Samsung mobile phone version of mainland China and Hongkong version of the same hardware, ROM can be universal, but before the official release of S21, no one can be sure.

The mobile phone software system of any mainland China brand is bloated and complex, so I immediately wrote it to Hongkong version ROM after receiving the goods, so I have no conditions to recommend the use of the mainland China Version System.

So it means that if I buy the s21 ultra in mainland China I can flash the HK firmware on it, if they have the same hardware, right?
Because of my foreigner ID I can't go to Hong-Kong and go back to mainland. And I don't know if it's possible to buy HK version of the s21 series from China. That's why I plan to buy the Chinese version and flash the HK version on it

According to the experience of S20 series, it is recommended that S21 should pay attention to hardware configuration and pay attention to relevant forums in Chinese mainland after listing, because no one here cares about the relationship between Hongkong and Chinese mainland ROM.

I also bought the Chines version (SM-G7810) which was flashed to Hong Kong version by Etoren store. I would like to flash to a European frimware. BUT the Chinese version has 8GB of Ram. In Europe etc it has 6GB of ram. Will that cause issues?

On a Hong Kong version I was able to flash the Chinese ROM. I did it because call-recorder is working then and essential for me.
I suppose the other way, from Chinese tot Hong Kong rom will also work.

My Exynos S8+ SM-G955F doesn't offer this option for selection, only 2.4 GHz.
I suspect the 5 GHz option for hotspot is only available on the Snapdragon version...

I'm on the Korean Exynos N950N and I have it.
Actually both the posts were useful, so now I know that this option can be available both on Snapdragon and Exynos version.
It looks like that there is no limitation in the Exynos SOC itself, it's apparently a Samsung decision to show or hide this option in the regional firmwares.
Hi guys,
Just found this old thread while searching in Google for a similar question. I have the Note 8 too, Exynos version (SM-N950F) and, as seems by the previous post, Exynos also allows to broadcast the hotspot at 5.0 GHz, so it might be a firmware limitation.
Do you know if there is any specific ROM, CSC, tweak; anything that would give me that option to use the hotspot at 5.0 GHz? I have found this post by @phatWares mentioning a quite old tool by Wanam. Can anybody confirm this still would work? I ask because I'm fully on stock on my Note, so I'd like to have some assurance before tripping Know, flashing ROM, etc.
Thanks in advance for any feedback you can provide.
I had the same question and did some research.
It seems there is a new EU directive that restricts the use of 5ghz frequencies for mobile hotspots and this is why we are running into this issue (has to do with interference with police radars and such).
Logically one way to circumvent this limitation is to change CSC to a country that does not have such limitation.
I am outside the EU and I have a EU phone with British firmware and CSC, I have yet to find a proper CSC to switch to.

Thanks for your reply aljazzair. I'm also outside of the EU and US, but I think my phone is (SM-N950F) is an international unlocked version; I don't know what that is supposed to comply to.
Are you rooted? Have you tried the tool that I've mentioned in my previous post from Wanam? It seems to be a CSC Editor that allows you to enabled the 5.0 GHz option with a checkbox.

Hi,
My phone is not rooted. Like you, I have a SM-N950F (european unlocked).
.
I did change the CSC on my phone successfully once, it was a couple of weeks ago.
.
The reason was that I was on a TUR CSC due to an OTA update whilst in Turkey with a Turkish SIM on a TIM phone which had XFE firmware.
.
I was annoyed by the resulting samsung software notifications in Turkish, which is a language I do not understand, so I wanted them gone.
.
My CSC is now BTU/BTU/TIM.
.
The procedure I used involves using odin to flash what is called a "combination rom".
The combination rom essentially replaces the stock rom with samsung software used by samsung support engineering staff for diagnosis and repair.
.
It is critical to only flash a combination ROM that is compatible with your bootloader version.
.
I had the DSG1 stock ROM with the latest bootloader when I flashed the combination ROM, so the version I used is:
.
COMBINATION_FA71_N950FXXU7ASG1_CL12991683_QB24738638_REV00_user_mid_noship.tar.md5
.
There is a seemingly cumbersome procedure to follow involving Odin, several factory resets and reflashing multiple times, and it worked flawlessly for me.
It is described here:
.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74324845&postcount=87
.
I would re-use this procedure again without hesitation.
.
But I have yet to find a CSC code that would allow 5ghz hotspot capabilities (so non-EU) whilst retaining Samsung Pay and avoiding software notifications in a language I do not understand
.
If you know of such a CSC code, pls share
Perhaps somebody that tried that Wanam application to edit the CSC could confirm? That might be worth rooting for

I have one of these TGY (from Hongkong) N9600 devices... It is still stuck on the Dec security patch, NOT sure if Android 10 will ever make it. All updates so far have been slow.
I use the device mainly because I need to maintain 2 different phone numbers, so the dual-sim helps. But using it on AT&T postpaid, the service sucks... NOT to hijack this thread but I can't seem to pull anything above 25MBPS or push above 2MBPS, NO matter where I am. My wife's iPhone is easily able to download at 100+MBPS. May be it is time to jump over to the dark side (?)

BTW, the internal memory on my Note-9 is encrypted... After the android 10 update, the start-up screen is in Chinese. Anyone else seeing this? How do I change this to English? After entering my pin & successfully booting up, everything else is in English as expected. So it is just the start-up screen...

Question S21 Ultra Hong Kong (G9980) can not flash CHC rom

When I flash CHC rom via Odin. It says successful. But when I first setup the phone. It is stuck at activating phone page. I agree with all terms. When I click on Next, nothing happen. I can not go pass that stage. With TGY or BRI rom, there are no problem like this.
I want to change to CHC rom for native call recorder. I have try install TGY rom, then use Samkey to change csc to CHC. It restart but still there is no native call recorder option.
Anyone have the same issue?

Dual sim works, volte works, 5g on sim 2 only, u ca not have both 5g.
Haven't tested call quality tbh and just went with the exynos that is being sold here.
Also i have some friends who reported that they lost 5g after some updates.
So you guys can check and make sure.
CHC firmware received update today that enables 5G on both SIM.
TGY/BRI should follows.

Question Will it be possible to flash the CN to the global?

Hi!
I bought the Chinese version. The phone is fantastic, everything suits me except, of course, the Chinese firmware. Almost everything Cn was hidden, but the lack of e-sim saddens.
The question is, is it theoretically possible that the phone can be flashed to a global in future?
Oppo support replied that Android 12 would not fix the situation ...

Unlocking a bootloader is not such a problem. Instructions are here in the next branch. The main thing is that there would be an opportunity to do this.
Well, I will wait for the first people who will change the firmware for themselves
I'm in the same situation and it's kind of annoying that despite my language being set to English, there are still a lot of things in Chinese. Plus all these Chinese bloat apps preinstalled are a nuisance.
I still don't regret my choice getting the Chinese version as I saved a few hundred dollars compared to the global version though. I also don't think the hardware is any different so I think it's just a matter of managing to flash the firmware with the global rom. I'm eyeing these forums until someone posts a way to do it lol.
Yeah,CN is much cheaper than global version!
Hope the global rom release someday.

I got the 12GB RAM chinese model for a bit less than 1090 CAD which is 742 euros. Buying the global model from here would've been over 1600 cad (8GB).
I've had the Chinese version of the Reno 10X Pro for 2 years, my first Chinese phone. At first I wanted to send it back because of the lack of being able to change launcher, locked to Oppo messaging, notification problems, etc. But the more I fiddled with it the more I fell in love with it. You can fine tune it to suit almost everything you want and if you can manage to explore some of the Chinese market apps and Breeno, you can get cool extras like video notifications for calls. It has outlasted my Samsung Flip 2, Surface Duo and Note 10 as far as holding my attention and keeping my sim in it the longest. Just ordered the Find X3 Pro Mars Edition and can't wait for about 2 weeks of fiddling to get it humming.

In my country there is no service center

This is a regular response (like automatic one). I doubt that it is possible since hardware is different

Where did you get that hardware is different?
If it were different, the "Deeptest" would not exist. Which sends you an unlock.
And this is not the first message from our correspondence. So it's about my situation and device.
In Ukraine, the phone off is not represented.
Therefore, the service centers do not have software and tools to do this.
If it had been presented, I would have been global version.

Chinese version and global have different modem - so it is impossible to flash CN with global rom. You can specifically ask oppo on facebook - im pretty sure another support guy will tell you different story than the previous one.

Convert Korean S10 to International

Hi,
I got a Samsung Galaxy S10 Exynos (SM-G973N), a Korean version. I am not in Korea and don't have Korean SIM so I can't use the phone (SIM card are not recognized).
I need some help to convert it to an international version, preferably an Android 11 version if possible. Current baseband is G973NKOU6FUF3.
Regards.
Hi, did you try to flash the firmware from your country/region? Just download the firmware with Frija if you are on Windows or samload if you are using Linux/Mac and flash with Odin. It's worth a try, cause the phone is basically the same of your country. Obviously since you are flashing a different region, you have to use CSC_OXM_XXXX and not the HOME_CSC_XXXXX. if it sounds confusing you can look at this topic here. Remember to use Smart Switch to backup all your files and apps.
Hi @Cobmaster, No I am actually worried about which firmware to download. The phone is originally from Korea. I don't want the Korean version, as it comes with apps and pre-loaded content in Korean. I would like a more global version. Can I use one from another country like the UK?
Thank you for your help. I used Frija to download the SKC and KOO firmwares.
Ps: For this model there are only Korean different Korean firmwares.
@koutei . I think you can safely download a UK or whatever you prefer, no problem at all.

It's weird. I need more info. Are you using a virtual machine? Which version of Windows? Are you using the stock cable?

I found a reply from a user "billa" on another thread while searching for a way to flash a Global USA Note10+ from an AT&T carrier Note 10+ (Which was successfully done). Below was his/her reply. (I edited the first paragraph and included the modded Odin sourced from a YouTube video.)
You will need to use modded/patched Odin that has the model-ID and SHA hash check disabled, therefore allowing you to flash an unbranded "U1" firmware onto a branded "U" phone and vice versa.
As of now this works on most US Qualcom (QC) models, but an increasing number of international Exynos (EX) models now include a new RMM security which prevents this kind of cross-flashing unless you first disable the RMM, by flashing an RMM-Disabler package through TWRP.
Hope this helps!
