I'm wondering if there is a method to enable real call recording on the N6? When I say real call recording, I do not mean using some crappy app from the Google Play Store that using the mic to capture the audio coming out of the speaker.
For example, on the Samsung phones you can enable call recording and it internally records the audio right from the source without the mic needing to hear it making both sides of the call crystal clear.
Thanks!

I think we are stuck with just apps from the play store. I use call recorder pro and it does a decent job. It does great on other phones I have used that weren't running stock google. Really not sure why that is. I could set it to record from the mic and both parties sounded super but if I select that on a stock rom it says call can't be recorded. I just set it to record phone line and the person you are talking to is faint but you can still hear them. Don't know of anything else though.
Callrecorder by Skvalex! Best there is period! His app supports the Nexus 6. It records both sides of the conversation!
But does it use line audio or the mic? Will check out out either way.

I can now confirm that Callrecorder by Skvalex does capture the call line audio (stream) and just not use the microphone like many other apps.
Overall the app is pretty good. It runs as a service and it adds a button to your call dialer, well not adds it but it hovers above your call dialer screen when a call is made or received. You're able adjust the placement of the button or wherever you prefer in the settings.
So if anyone else is looking this works!

I've just spent several hours trying out recording apps from the PlayStore now that I finally have mic recording sorted out on my NST. I definitely need a new mic as this one hums more or less but never NEVER
Anyway, for my "money" (it's free!) I choose "Record That Note". The only minus is that the title needs to be edited down on my home screen to "Record A Note" so that it will all display under the icon
You can record in wav or mp3 format in a range of qualities on up to 48 kHz. The interface is very simple: start, pause, stop, and a horizontal "VU bar" type display for level. It has it's own player.
Can anyone recommend a small mic? This is the one I bought (don't make the same mistake). What I'd really like is something that is just a mic on a plug so it would hardly stick out at all from the OTG cable/Audio gizmo combo. I'm just interested in recording meetings, etc.
Edit: I have meant to return to this for some time and now finally got around to trying the app for extended recording with the mic I finally settled on months ago! (this is it, or something very close to it). I tried making a recording of the PBS Newshour as I watched it today. So, about an hour of material. I had the app set for 16KHz and mp3. The final file was about 45 MB and sounded more or less like what it was: a passable voice recording. Certainly enough to get content out of a lecture or meeting. Sweet little app!
Hi !
As you know, the Google Camera app do not detect an external microphone for audio recording during video capture, which is very awful for extreme environments. We have to use a 3rd party app (like Cinema FV-5), but we loose the stabilization on the Google Pixel.
The idea is to sync the video (captured with the Google Camera app) with the audio recorded thanks to Easy Voice Recorder (or Recordr), which lets us using a 3.5 external microphone.
But I'm not very familiar with Tasker. So, have you an idea how to do that ? The goal is to begin the audio and video recording at the exact same time.
Thanks for your help !
It seems that it is impossible to use the Google Camera and another app which uses the microphone at the same time.
I tried to revoke the microphone permission of Google Camera but the app doesn't want to work after that.
The profils (and tasks) are very easy to build but there is no way for them to work because of this restriction.
Any ideas, please ?

Good morning guys,
I'm dealing with a very annoying issue with Instagram stories
For those who doesn't know, when we post a video with more than 15s, Instagram cut the video in 15s portions and post them in a sequence. Well, the fact is that when i'm doing this, the first segment is OK, synced audio and video. But the followings are always terrible, totally unsynced and the end of each segment's totally muted.
I've already tried all the alternatives, like using external apps, recording with camera app then uploading, but none of this actually worked
I've recently noticed that this issue's solved when I record using the codec H265 in native camera app, but the colors of the video changes a lot. I'm always having this trouble when I'm trying to record with Instagram app by itself.
I really don't know what to do by now, and I'm really (and saddly) thinking about returning the cellphone
Does anyone already heard about it?
Thank you in advance,

Did you reinstall the app? If not then uninstall and reinstall again and check.
I have the same issue, also with SnapChat..
I assumed this was an Instagram issue. I also get the failed by the third or fourth video in the story and no option to save it or reupload. Personally think it's the the terrible application developers for snap and Instagram, this phone is capable of amazing videos and photos and both those apps quickly ruin memories. It's beyond aggravating.
With mine aswell! This is super annoying. I pay so much money and can't even share stories?!
I should have never though buying Huawei...
Same issue here. The second and the following Instagram stories get out of sync. What could be causing it?
I also noticed the image on Instagram stories is very choppy.
I would appreciate any tip, as returning the phone is not an option.
anyone have a ugly grey filter on their videos on instagram its awful?!!!
Hey guys, are you still having the unsynchronized videos/audio in the 9.0.213 update?
I just recently started facing the same issue with my Instagram stories and chats , everytime I create a story or share a video through chat the audio ends before the video . It's so annoying , I've been using insta for years and that's never happened before !! It's the 21st century!!
With each new scene, the first five to six frames are a freeze frame and there is no sound either. The same problem occurs on my son's mobile phone, also P30 pro. This problem also occurs with some other camera apps, but with a Pixel camera app that has been adapted, every new video recording scene has moving images from the start and the sound is present. Do you also have this problem? Just try it out and watch the individual frames with video editing software.
How can this problem be solved?
