LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

did you format data? I'll look to the log..thanks
EDIT: send me a .txt, the link does not working
I did wipe eveything and format data, I've tried the boot.img from the last lineage build (wifi/data worked fine on that build on my A705MN). So far no luck, ROM runs well but without wifi/data can't really use it for a dd. Got two logs, one for the wifi errors, other for the data errors.

Oh wow a real ROM for the A7 2017. HUGE thanks @forkbomb444
Before I begin to test this, can you confirm a few things?
Will this be updated regularly just as the A5 2017 gets updated? I understand if it takes a few more extra days to update it.
Are the current bugs the same as the A5 2017?

It probably will be released roughly in-step with the A5, but maybe more/less often depending on how much spare time I have.
Bugs should be the same as the last A5 release (from yesterday). I haven't run into any at all so far.
Thank you very much for the work.
But little problem:
SIM card not detected.
photos do not store on the SD card or internally.
An idea ? solution?
Please add in the description current errors and bugs, as well as performance it will be very useful
Bug screenshot
Amazing work!
Thank you dude.!
But I have 2 problems:
Photos don't store on the SD card or internally, and 4G not work, only 3G.
A question, this rom have AOD?

Do NOT, for whatever reason, use TWRP to flash this (at least for now).
You will brick your phone.
Use OrangeFox.

Tnx for build.
Biggest issue now is camera, it is not working at all, even flashlight.
GPS as usual on your builds are not working as it should. Please add this fix to finally get it to work properly https://cloud.harijs.id.lv/index.php/s/Q8BkLRp8io4GYDw .
Youtube app is not working. It opens up and spins infinitely.
SMS app have issues whit reply on message, but that most likely is LOS code fault.
Otherwise it is not bad.
Amazing, thanks for the work

Alright, sooo:
It took me a while to get gapps running, the opengapps test .zip didn't let me connect to the google servers after logging in and I had constant android setup crashes.
The following gapps version was working, though: https://t.me/OnePlus6TDev/171705
I flashed the rom, booted it, rebooted into TWRP, installed gapps and Magisk and rebooted. Then I had to wait a bit until the Google Play support library got updated and I was finally able to login.
However, the connection to Google servers quit working after half an hour, no app would load anymore, I believe it was due to an update of the Play Services app. I rebooted to see if it would fix the issue, but it didn't and thus rendering the phone useless, as all Play Apps would start crashing.
I can confirm the mentioned bugs like camera not working and encryption being bugged. The small issue with battery symbol settings not being applied is also present.
The rest was working flawlessly including Trust and LiveDisplay; I was very satisfied with the overall performance of the rom and it looks like a promising start of Android 10 on this device. Featurewise it has everything I want/need and the rom only requires changes under the hood.
Thanks for taking your time to develop for this device!
Nice, thank you! Glad to see LOS 17. BTW can anyone tell me if this ROM supports exFat for the µSD card?

Instructions
Go to https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a70/development/recovery-twrp-galaxy-a70-t3955984 and install TWRP (always use the latest version)
Download the latest build and gapps
Reboot to recovery
(Optional) Create backup
Flash the latest build and gapps
(Optional: If you are already on lineage then you can dirty flash) Format data (yes format not just wipe)
Reboot
Downloads

Working
Everything, but
Known issues
VoLTE/VoWifi not working
Camera only shows up to 8MP
NFC is enabled on all models, even on the ones without it (please report device model)
Dualsim is enabled on all models, even on the ones without it (please report device model)
Screen flickering when using fingerprint (That's normal and how optical fingerprint sensors work. Flickering doesn't happen on stock I know, but that's due to poor UI implement from lineage site)
Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg.

FAQ
Can I use this ROM to boot other GSIs?
You can but I won't provide any support. If you are stuck in a bootloop or something does not work, you have to look for a fix yourself. Here is a list of things that will probably be broken when using a GSI:
Fingerprint
Radio (you can fix this by extracting /system/bin/bootstrap/linker64 and /system/bin/bootstrap/linker from lineage and put them in your new system)
Phone calls (you can fix this by replacing /vendor/lib/hw/audio.primary.sm6150.so from stock rom, this will break calling on second sim)
Fingerprint doesn't work anymore after flashing a new build/installing magisk/etc.!
Redo your fingerprints.
I can't enroll any fingerprints!
Turn off night mode/lower night mode intensity.
im using this rom
Finally!
Great work Garak
I'll test this soon!

how to fix birghtness slider in this build?
@Grarak Brilliant work.
I swapped my A70 for a Xiaomi Mi9, but am really glad to see the start of LineageOS development for the A70. It is a great phone and I'm sure using LOS on that huge screen would be a real treat.

Dears,
I have couple of questions about [BETA][UNOFFICIAL] LineageOS 16.0:
Since it is Beta:
1- Does it mean that if I install it, I won't be able to use Lineage's OTA Updater to update to newer releases ?
2- Does it mean that I would need to wipe my device each time I need to install a Lineage new version ? let's say 17.0, ......
3- If I am on Beta, can I simply flash the Official stable release once it comes out ? on top of the installed Beta ? without having to wipe my data ?
The reason I am asking these questions is because I would like to install Lineage OS but at the same time I don't want to suffer and setup up everything again from scratch once the Stable Official Lineage 16.0 gets released. So can someone tell me what are the downsides of installing a Beta Lineage? and where does the most hassle reside ?(From a day to day phone user point of view, and not from a tester or developer point of view), because the data backup / restore process takes a lot of time for me since it's huge and valuable so before switching to Lineage Beta, I am trying to understand how hard it is to migrate between Beta and Stable releases of Lineage afterwards ?
Thank You,
Wael

Dear, which of the above builds has OTA Updates and is a stable release (not in Beta) and with the least bugs ?
thanks.
I am super damn thankful, finally after 4 months of this One UI ,I can finally have a fresh breeze of stock <3
Just a small note to some people if they get error "Zip Combatibility error" while flashing the ROM cause it took me 3 hours to figure it out (yea i had TWRP latest version)
The fix : Use 7zip to remove "Compatibility.zip" from the archive and then flash it normally.
Thank you Garak for your immense work for our device, we are lucky as heck that we have a developer like u in our device forum.
lots of love from Egypt <3
Also, Auto brightness doesn't work for me sadly, is there is any fix for that ? i also noticed that when i use indispaly fingerprint, the WHOLE screen go to max brightness, not only the sensor, i dont think it will help the battery life so i turned my FP off and used normal pattern.
Can confirm there are no bugs at all in FN edition, just the auto brightness

Awesome. i just tried it out on my Samsung galaxy a71 and everything seems to be working OK. however i have noticed a few small issues. the proximity sensor when making phone calls does not work and double tap to wake is not present in settings. also the WiFi network signal is rather weak compared to the Stock Rom. if you need me to send over some logs i would be happy to

Trust me it is, I have 8gb ram variant and the ui is laggy AF, I can only run 4 apps on the memory more than that it will start closing apps and refreshing. So much lag with gestures, recent menu, notification panel, games runs slower than my xiaomi mi a2 which has sd 660!!
I don't have that....my A71 is rooted and works very good. No lag or what so ever.

How did you root it Hans?
And did you manage twrp working, if yes how did you do that?
Thank you for your work. May I have a question? Everytime I try to flash... the message "error verifying vbmeta image...0_0_INDIVLDVMT_EDRHS_IMTHSGAUEMSAC" comes up. Has anyone an idea what I'm doin' wrong? Thanks in advance.

I've downloaded the latest official A71 build via Frija, took your Recovery.img (made it a tar / tar.md5 file), added it to AP in Odin (the other files are from the Frija download - although, in my despair, I tried just to flash the recovery file on its own ?) --> "recovery error" when booting up.
Made it only once to your recovery, wipe/..., flashed the Lineage os build, the stock-A71n-zip, plus the gapps from sd card... when trying to reboot, same recover error messages as before.

you're not read it properly. it stated you need to use oneui 2.0 U2. you haven't unlocked and disable vbmeta aren't you?
I''m sorry, but I have no idea, if I've done something to vbmeta. Just unlocked the bootloader and followed the steps explained earlier. Before I make another mistake: you (yep, already in your first post, I noticed it just now) mentioned a "U2 OneUi 2.0" firmware... My plan was to just download an oneui 2.0 build without thinkin 'bout the "U2...". Which exact firmware do I have to use? And THANK YOU for your help.
Will this be ok? https://boycracked.com/portfolio/sm-a715f-ds-firmware-for-samsung-galaxy-a71-in-europe/

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg.
Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

wow, thanks!
Great News. Good Effort. Please keep it up.
This is the best lineageOS rom mod for samsung galaxy m51, for now.. all the problems I found are already known. I tested both yours and LahKeda's rom.

other modifications: no
While auto brightness seems to not work, youtube recognizes if I'm on a dark or bright room, changing screen brightness if I'm watching an HDR video (tested with "Costa Rica 4K"). I can confirm that the respective sensor is working on AIDA64.
Also, why the sound of default screen recorder is so bad?
I'm using this rom as my daily driver for a while. Thank you! (now im using lahkeda's one)
Does this rom have 10 bit hevc encoder?

I'm using lahkeda's rom and, on aida64:
OMX.qcom.video.encoder.hevc
OMX.qcom.video.encoder.hevc.cq
c2.android.hevc.encoder
I don't know if this answer your question, but if it doesn't, please tell me a way to check it.

Thanks for reply. You can use this app to check encoder capabilities:
Media Codec Info - Google Play'de Uygulamalar
Ekran görüntü ve cihazınızın ses codec bilgisi
play.google.com
It shows profile and level, I need Main10 or Main10HDR10.

Okay, there's no encoder that supports HDR10, just decoder.
the decoder is OMX.qcom.video.decoder.hevc and both Main10 and Main10HDR10 levels are 5.
Sad to see it being discontinued. Thanks for the initial release.
The other one is being maintained regularly... So no point in maintaing two versions.. Lehkeda has my sources as reference...
