I was debloating my snapdragon variant of the s20 fe and I accidentally removed Google play services and other core packages associated with it.
I ended up downloading and installing the apk for Google play services, but now whenever I open Google maps or other apps that depend on Google play services I get "Google play services has stopped working".
Are there any other dependencies that Google play services requires to run?
Help would be greatly appreciated!
Please let me know if you need more details.
Did you get play services from app store? To replace deleted app

My suggestion is to factory reset the phone.
What about trying to install OpenGapps? Worth a shot maybe, else factory reset
The Open GApps Project

Hey all,
I started futzing with Play Services and the Store and Search in an attempt to fix the nlpWakelock battery usage issue I'd been having on my Moto X, and I can't seem to get it all working again. I can launch the Play Store, but when I attempt to download an app (or update), it crashes (Unfortunately, Play Store has stopped)
I did some noodling around on various forums here and have tried:
wiping data/cache on Store, Download Manager, and Services
uninstalling Store, uninstalling Play Services, and sideloading them both (Store and Services).
removing and re-adding my google account, even trying to download an app with a different acct crashed it.
converting Play Store to a system app in TiBu, no dice.
Moto X
4.4 Rooted
Play Store v: 4.5.10
Play Services v:4.2.43
edit: Download Manager v: 4.4-5
I was going to uninstall the store and look for the apk for the previous version and attempt to install that to see if it'll work..
any ideas?
worst case scenario I can do a TiBu backup and factory reset, but my question there is... will I need to re-root 4.4? (probably, right?)
thanks all!
josh
Alright so I used TiBU to removed Download Manager and Downloads... and now the Play Store doesn't crash, if I try to Download something it just hangs on "downloading" and never starts... I grabbed two APKs from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/help/request-download-service-apk-to-fix-t2421314
and used root explorer to move them into sys/app and install.. DownloadProvider.apk and DownloadProviderUI.apk ... but I can't seem to get them to install.
any ideas?
thanks!
josh
Thanks for publishing it even it help me to know about download manager..
Hi,
I cannot find Play Store Services among installed apps on my Galaxy Ace. Its already installed in the phone. Other apps doesn't work without Play Store Services. This happened after relinking application files using link2sd. Is there anyway to fix this problem? Please help.

I couldn't Install Play Store Services from Play Store. It was showing as "already installed". So I downloaded an apk file of Play Store Services and installed. That didn't work. Then I tried factory resetting. That didn't work too. I was not able to login to my google account. There were 2 google settings icon in the app drawer too. I suppose it happened because I tried to install the apk file.
Then I did format system and reinstalled my OS. Now my phone is working fine.

Good thing the problem is solved and Play Services are working again
I'm sorry, because I don't know fireOS. Is it possible to install Google play, or install external apps by means of apk files?
Enviado desde mi Moto G 1st gen.
Yes, you can install apks. I installed ES FileExplorer via the Amazon store and send over some apks from another android phone. Don't forget to enable apps from unknown sources in the settings. AFAIK everything which requires the google services will not work....
Chrome works, but obviously can't login to your google account so no syncing etc, but it's better than the POS that's installed.

Most Google apps require google framework apk
If you install Google Play, Chrome allows you to sign in easily.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63086053&postcount=16 shows how I did it. I signed into chrome automagically.
Yeah got the google play services installed etc, just waiting to see if they update and work correctly. Chrome's logged in just fine though
If you want, you can install a lot of apps ,
1/ you must just write on google " the name of the app .apk"
2/Dowload the apk
3/Clik on the apk
4/and you can install if you set " unknow sources on the setting"
Enjoy ! for exemple thanks this method I installed tapatalk
Hello!
Hope I am writing this thread in correct section.
I have Xperia SP with android 4.4.4, compilation number pa_huashan-userdebug 4.4.4 KTU84P eng.nexusprime.20140928.205215 test-keys.
I have microG apps installed. They needs Xposed framework to work.
Now I want to login into Snapchat. I can't, because I have Xposed installed. If I uninstall all Xposed, Snapchat says that I need Google Play Services. I don't want to have Google Play Services, because I couldn't uninstall it last time (Last time I flashed gapps via recovery).
Does somebody have any idea?

Install Google Play Services, login to SnapChat, backup with Titanium Backup, uninstall Google Play Services, then see what happens. Idk if it'll tell you that after.

Oh, yeah, I didn't mention what I done.
When I uninstalled all microG apps, cleared cache via recovery, rebooted and installed Google Play Services, the Services started to crashing.
Is there any rescue or just flash new rom, flash gapps, login to snapchat, backup via Titanium backup and again flash new rom, install microG apps and then restore Snapchat?

Some apps require Google play services to operate, end of story. Why don't you want Google play services installed?

When I had Google Play Services installed on this rom, always after reboot I had to go to "Disable service" app, disable and re-enable location service and hope it would work. Often it wouldn't work, so I had to reboot again and do same thing. Of course, I could disable all location services, but I need GPS. And, when I enabled GPS, did what I wanted, I too had to disable and re-enable location service. For example, when I was doing something with GPS on evening, then I forgot to disable services or it hasn't worked, I always woke up with battery drained for about 30-40%. 90%-40% = 50%. Battery has 3 years, so it will be dead untill noon.
To close.
I did what Curiousn00b said. (To uninstall Google Play Services I had to reinstall rom, but it worked).
Thanks!
So I flashed my G7 Plus with the latest Lineage, 17.1 I think with no GAPPS. Great ! The only thing I don't have is speech to text so to get this I have to install the Google App. Tried a few of the latest version which I downloaded from apkpure.com becaue not a fan of the playstore. I keep getting an error saying "Google keeps stopping". and it does ! I've cleared caches and all that, but it just seems I'm probably missing some other required package or that it wants some permissions I haven't granted but I have granted all the network perms temporarily as well as mic and storage access. Still get the error. Has anyone else come acrsoss this and know how to solve it ? Or maybe you have to log in to a google account at least once before it will work ?
I'm no expert but could it be that you need google play services to run an app like that?
If that's the case, I guess I'll do without voice to txt. The whole idea here is to keep google spying off my phone.
Use a rom that has google installed and do a back up of the google apps u want to bring to los17 with an app called migrate.... After u install the los17 flash the migrate back up...it will delete the GSF file from the google apps so they can run without google play services
