Hello everybody,
I am of the opinion that my battery is not as good as it was at the beginning.
I have had the Mi8 for about 2 years now.
Franco Kernel Manager says:
Health: estimated ~ 47% (Good)
But wath does it mean? When it is only 47% it was not good
I dont know if i can trust these value.
What do you think I should change the battery? In the hope that you will buy an original one.
Thanks

My phone is 2 yrs old. I had 60% battery health prior replacing my battery with Nohon a couple weeks ago. I was getting 3h sot now I'm in 7-8h sot. I suggest you buy a new battery preferrably Nohon brand. It has all the tools you need.
OK yesterday i have changed my battery and it was a good decision.

did you ever figure out what 47% battery health means? I can't find a straight answer. does it mean that it only has 47% of its original capacity left?

Reinforcing, battery has useful life. That is, it loses capacity with several charging cycles.
Xiaomi does not manufacture official repair parts, as far as I know. There are stores like Dragon tt, Witrigs and Nohon on Ali, which sell great quality spare parts.
After 3 years of use, I bought a new one from Nohon.

I guess you mean the replacement batteries with 3000-3500 mAh, in that case: yes the official power pack is better! If you do a little search on ebay batteries with hughe figures on the lable here or elsewhere, you will soon learn that those batteries do not keep what they promise!

Unfortunately not! If it was, I would own one myself!
Here is a current example of an unsatisfied buyer:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10857852&postcount=54
But i see some buyer say that's 3000 good battery and better than 3500.
They just dont like heavy and ugly look for sgs after that.
Whats ur advise for me, take power pack or battery replacement.
Because am going to buy 1 of them.

Cool, i think Wifi doesnt effect the battery as much as Data internet does.

doesn't it?
It can show wrong the information changing the battery usually!

I'm right?
Anyone know where I can buy a legit high capacity battery?

That battery is a huge hoax and has been posted long ago.
For the first... The batterys looks original but i can doubt that they are really. The chinese batterys are good. Some even better then japanese or european batterys, but there is low end.
I think these are aftermarket non-genuine but could be good batterys, maybe worth the price maybe not... it's your choice.

Hi, so i have my mi8 pretty much since it was launched, and i charge it everyday and now my battery is not lasting enough for my day, it can't even do 4h SOT, i checked it's health with accubattery and it says i have 84% battery health. I tried original xiaomi rom, xiaomi, and Lineage.os and i can't get the battery i was supposed to. So i have been looking for batteries for replacement, and i found some batteries that claim to have more capacity than the original one, but i dont know if they are good, so i am looking where to buy a genuine one, including the neccesary tools to glue the battery and back cover back. I'm from europe, i'd apreciate a store from europe for fast shipping, but from china is okay too.
I bought my battery from aliexpress (that one). You have to buy the glue additionally. I bought that one.
Btw.: Im also from Europe (Germany). I am happy so far with that battery.

You also should get equipments for battery testing too, they pretty much provide enough information about the battery health and capacity. But finding a proper battery would cost more than the phone itself anyways, if you are not lucky and want to be safe.
You probably should look into POCOF1 threads because of their popularity, and Russian 4pda forums because of Russians. Yes, Russians are messing with the software and hardware even more than Indians, and they also help each other a lot, so any questions you are going to ask will probably be already answered there.

Sorry if I'm a few months late to respond. Your phone is fine. The updates have ruined battery life. I have studied my Mi 8's battery life and it literally loses battery performance with each update. This is common on Xiaomi smartphones. It really sucks that we can no longer downgrade. MIUI 11 is abysmal in terms of battery performance.
Good morning and happy new year everyone, in the end you changed the battery of the Mi8?
I wanna buy new battery but i didn't find original battery so I heard about nohon battery,,so if anyone tried it please tell me your opinion on it ,, thank you advance

I don't know what you mean. Check here and select BM4E.
Fixed 4 phones with those so far.
One of those phones (OnePLus 8) crapped out after a year. Turns out nohon batteries are *not* taking fast charging well. For slow charging phones (15/22W), they seem ok so far.
Expect 5-10% worse capacity than original battery. Which is a pretty good number as far as aftermarket batteries go.

I got the battery sealed few months ago around April or May, but I installed it just recently at Friday to my device. I cannot give that info but they have 6months warranty and I am pretty sure will last more than 1 year.
At this point I think it's your best choice tbh.

November 2021 I think. The phones (iPhone 8, Samsung S9, Redmi 8 Note Pro) seem to run all fine, perhaps the batteries are aging slightly faster, but I expect em to last at least 1-2 years or so more.
That 1+8 which just crapped out fairly recently - battery swelled and started losing capacity rapidly and eventually refused to charge completely. All in span of a month after a year of running ok.
The owner of that phone was using its warp charging (0% to 50% under 30 minutes, daily) pretty heavily, which is what ruined the original battery in the first place (that one had around 70% after <2 years).
Okay thank you,,seems it's best option available now
Anyone know how i can get it from Germany ? AliExpress say it's not available to your country
I've been using a Nohon Battery in my Poco F1 since last April. Currently it is at about 80/81% capacity. I don't know if it's within the average wear range, but I thought it was a little fast, I don't know. Fast charge works great, battery life has been better, I've been changing ROMs lately, but I think it's standard. I bought it through Alliexpress and I received it here in Brazil in a month + or -
What I really wanted was to buy an original from Xiaomi, but here in Brazil they simply don't sell it. I've already read someone here saying that in India they sell the original, but unfortunately there's no way to import it here to my country. If anyone knows how I can get an original nateria, I'd appreciate it. But Nohon has served me very well.

The original battery in my case lost 10% capacity every 10 months, down to 80% by the 20 month mark (little over 600 battery cycles ) and further reduced to 65% in 30 months. Would have been higher but for bypass charging which I figured out how to enable just after 20 months. The new official battery is down to 92% after 8 months despite bypass charging being enabled from the very beginning (just 79 battery cycles ).

After reaching the desired battery charge level say 60% as long as the device is plugged it draws power from the AC Mains instead of the battery and the battery discharges even by 1%. This is actually the default behavior if the device is charged to 100%. Of course full charge and plugged in is not great from battery longterm health POV so root is necessary to tweak permissions of a couple of files to reduce the max. battery charging voltage which effectively caps the maximum battery charge level. No micro-cycles in contrast to Smart Charging which is anyway incompatible with bypass charging.
P.S. According to some this isn't true bypass charging whatever that means. However after replacing the battery I had used the device plugged in for most of 10 days and the battery cycle count increased by 1. Baikal OS since A12 at least included this feature OOTB. Root wasn't necessary but SELinux was Permissive. I don't know which is a greater vulnerability from security POV.

That’s our possibility…
I didn’t try it yet
One F1 user had good things to say about a third-part battery bought from eBAY UK.... I kinda regret not buying a 2nd replacement battery when they were being sold dirt cheap by Xiaomi India mid-last year. Some months later spare parts incl. the battery have been permanently discontinued.
