I can't see a forum for the Samsung Gear Active 2, so I am writing this here (hope its okay). I have Gear Active 2 from Samsung and about a month I got the software update which I thought would include the long waited ECG option. However once I installed the Tizen update all that it did was to add fall dectection, and some changed menus.
So my question is, is the ECG option in the latest Tizen update blocked in some areas of the world? If yes can it be unlocked with having to hard and software reset my phone?
Do you have a samsung phone? if not https://www.xda-developers.com/enab...h-3-watch-active-2-paired-non-samsung-phones/

Friend updated this morning but still has the old gear manager, the one without more notifications, although it says it has the 1.5.120601. Any idea why? Does he have to flash the latest update for the gear watch, ....UAMK7 for it to be utilized? I did a few weeks ago, and all works great for me, his, not so good, nothing in fact, and all set up as mine is. We are in U.S.
Any of the 1.5 versions of GM along with MK7 allow the display of additional notifications. The first version of GM 1.5 caused problems with Exchange (only on host devices with a U.S. CSC) where body text in e-mail would be blocked. The excitement about the latest 1.5 version is that the Exchange limitation has been removed. In other words using any version GM 1.5 and MK7 should allow the selection of additional notification options. There have always been multiple point numbers of a single version of GM. My N10.1-14 had/has a different version of GM than my N3 (one's a U.S. CSC, the other's Latin America). Both were released on November 15th and both blocked Exchange body text when loaded on my N3.

Ok so I just acquired an S6 (AT&T, OEM/not rooted) and I know that 7.0 is rolling out for it and after some investigating it seems that the only way I'll be able to update it to 7.0 from 6.0.1 is if my baseband is at a certain version, which it is not. There are 3 listed updates for this phone on the At&T site that I don't seem to have (SPL Nov 1, SPL Dec 1 & SPL Jan 1) and I'm wondering how I can apply these updates and at least have my phone up to date. I've tried checking OTA updates and also installing SmartSwitch and it says that my phone is currently updated and doesn't offer any patches. Any help is appreciated!
Here's a screenshot of where I'm at now-

No OTA updates if it's not on the AT&T network, sadly. I have an AT&T S6 on Cricket and I get my updates by going to a Best Buy with a Samsung Experience Center inside. They can update it for you. If that's an option based on where you live you can wait a couple weeks, they didn't have the Nougat update yet when I checked yesterday. Otherwise, since it's a new phone and presumably you don't have any data on it to lose, you can update manually. See this thread to start:

Thanks for the tips. I'm on cricket actually so going into a Best buy might be the best option when they get it. Do you have to pay them to do it? Will i get my phone back right away or do I need to leave it with them for a while ? Side question for you - do you use the hotspot on the s6? That's something else I'm trying to get working/enabled.
It's free. I've done it three times and it's been a breeze. You don't leave your phone, you just wait around for the updates to install. Depending on how many updates you are behind it can take a while, but there are plenty of ways to kill time at Best Buy. You can check online which ones have the Samsung Experience Center inside.
As for hotspot, I never use it.

Came accross this FAQ that states;
"Can I use my Samsung Gear VR with an unlocked phone?
To make sure you can download required software updates, your Samsung Android phone needs to be connected to a mobile carrier for it to work with your Samsung Gear VR.
Note: If you try to use an unlocked phone with your Gear VR, you may come across problems that we won’t be able to fix or it may not work at all."
Are they saying we cant use unlocked models period, or just that we need a connection to a carrier?
Thanks
Unlocked devices will work on the GearVR without any issues. Just as long as the Gear VR supports the use of that device.
Hi guys, I finally decided to flash my Canadian Note 9 (SM-N960W) with Android 10. I now have an unbranded XAA CSC American Note 9 (SM-N960U) and almost everything is working perfectly, including WiFi Calling and VoLTE, but I have that one and only problem that is bothering me:
Every single time I try to open "Security" under "Device Care", the sreen goes black and the phone become unresponsive. Security status is "Deactivated" but I didn't disable it so I'm not so sure what's happening here.
I tried to download and install "Samsung Device Security" from XDA but it won't install. For some reason it's missing from my phone.
Any idea what's going on?
If that is the only issue then all is golden. Security that is not enabled refers to a not an active bundled antivirus solution which as you know is totally unnecessary. It does not refer to Samsung device security.
Hi, i have an esim but im trying to install it on my samsung galaxy watch 5 LTE, is there anyway that i can install it manually without a phone, or a way to bypass using the wearable app?
