Suspicious apps 0 byte size - Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Questions & Answers

Hello, first thread on here. Didn't see anything that covered this, so sorry if its a duplicate. So 2 issues now and both of them are a little concerning. First Got a verizon samsung s20 fe just over a week ago. Before the system update #2 was installed or even poped up on my screen yelling at me I did the usual removal of bloat ware. While scrolling through the app list found about 15 apps give or take that were very unusual. some there were multiple of the same thing (name circular, 0byte file size on internal, no permissions requested and nothing under the all permissions tab, etc. I'll put a screen shot of the list of all of them) and I have yet to be able to find anything on this anywhere and now that I have sys. Update 2 installed I've noticed even more and other odd things in my app list. Such as when I disabled some useless apps I would never and have never used ever or anything close, it revealed (added them to the app list) other apps that were not there before. after system update 2 smart lock settings would open up a blank white page on chrome, now it has completely disappeared from all settings catagories. And literally while i am typing this and went to the app list to get screen shots, even more apps have appeared and some have even changed their permissions and restored some of their permissions, backround data,, backround battery use etc.
So essentially my phone has decided its going to do whatever the [email protected]$# it wants since the update after I've already gone once and went over permission and everything else for everything. To account for stupid $#!* that comes with a system update.
Any info on any of this and advice would greatly be appreciated.
P.s. the grey apps in the app drawer screen shot are the only things I've installed and I only added wish, pocket morties, insta, and snap over the past couple of days. And they haven't added anything besides their respective apps to the drawer. Most duplicate 0b apps were there prior, after system update 2even more appeared along with other strange thing starting to happen, or they revealed after bloatware and useless apps were removed or disabled.

Oh and also. For a new phone with 3 or 4 apps that I installed after removing all sorts of bloat etc. I still have 443 app in the app list after I click show system apps.

[Q] Mystery "streaming media" app using data

Hey all,
Droid 3 using Minimoto 1.7 (Safestrap install) here. I've been using the phone as normal for almost a year before this happened -

}
Can anyone help me figure out what this "streaming media" app is? I was using the internet as normal one day and suddenly I noticed it had gulped 100MB in a very short time. At that point I thought it might have been the Youtube app (which Advanced Task Killer reported was running in the background) streaming crap so I deinstalled the app (also turned off 'allow apps from unknown sources'), rebooted the phone, and very carefully browsed for a bit while checking the data usage frequently. Suddenly it had taken another 130 MB.
I only have 500MB per month which is my only non-work internet access and I watch it like a hawk. This "thing" has now eaten half of that. Extremely annoyed!
Right now the only thing I have installed that might be considered "streaming media" is Soundcloud, which I haven't even run in a couple months. I'm getting worried about malware, etc. as I have no idea what this is nor what it's doing. I've never seen that show up in the data logger before. BTW the data logging app is My Data Manager but I have confirmed the extra data use appears on my bill, i.e. it is 'real' data and not just a bug in the app. I have "auto update apps" turned off in the Play Store and the "system updates" screen comes up blank (didn't think Minimoto would 'pull in' updates anyway?)
Also, I put my SIM card back in my old phone (HTC Dream running Android 1.5) and it works just as it always did with no unexplained data. At this point I don't want to get the Droid online at all for fear that it would gobble up the rest of my data and go over. (I thought of running something like Avast or Malwarebytes but it seems they are only legitimately available from the play store which means the phone must be online - argh!)
Any help appreciated - thanks in advance!

Blue Charging Screen That I Can't Get Rid Of

Something installed a screen that appears whenever I'm charging my phone.

I've searched my apps, I've changed my daydream settings, I've changed my timeout settings. Nothing. This still appears. I think an app called Glance Plus added it. I uninstalled it but this screen is still here.
I'm effing MAD.
Any tips on getting rid of it?

Which app caused it? A battery app?
Battery doctor by any chance?
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA-Developers mobile app
It returned. BUT I FOUND OUT WHAT IT IS!
An app called ES App Locker by ES Global. The same company that made ES File Explorer (I actually have the pro version that I am now uninstalling because of this!). They just updated the app, and the update added a fake lock screen that shows ads and also adds a folder called "dianxin" to your file library. The banner ads are stored in that folder and it can grow quite large. This isn't cool at all. I uninstalled the app and everything is back to normal. Spread the word that ES is adding adware to their stuff.
There was discussion about ES File Explorer months ago on the portal. Where have you been?
I'm just kidding.
ES works nicely, but the adware is why I only install for a single purpose, file cleaner works very well rooted. I use it n uninstall it. Definitely jams up a device

Found a way to actually open up some of the Evenwell apps using secret codes

I've spent a great deal of time trying to assess what these Evenwell apps do and have managed to open up a few using secret codes taken from the apps manifest.
1) Use this code on your phone dialler - *#"#3277#*#* it's for Stability Monitor app. This app from the looks of it is designed to send Nokia/Evenwell log reports from ANR crashes, boot reports amongst other things. By opening up the Stability Monitor app, you can actually choose to send yourself all the reports instead of them being uploaded to a server by periodically having zip files saved on your SD card! Very useful indeed.
2) *#*#666#*#* - EMM app. Yes one of the most hated of Evenwell apps that stays running constantly unless you're prepared to use ADB commands. You can manually set up CPU, GPU and DRAM Governors as if you have a rooted phone! You can either switch them off entirely or have them in use at your options. The option2s are switch off, default, screen or heavy app. There are even options for when force stop apps occur and something called dropcache.
You can also see all current app processes and even what EMM considers to be whitelisted apps. Surprisingly it doesn't consider Google Play Services to be whitelisted which answers my own question about why I would get popups to say the app stopped. There is even a way to manually add an app to the whitelist but I have not been successful with this yet as I am not as technically gifted as most people in here.
I will see about uploading some images to the net so I can post here of actual screenshots as I have not made 10 posts yet here so I cannot upload direct from my phone.
There are a few others I've discovered I can open and will update here as soon as I work out what each app does and what you can do on them when you open them up.
I would appreciate some technical assistance with regards to the EMM app as so far by making my own amendments, all I've done is heat my phone up so high I struggle to pick it up! If anyone can test out the CPU, GPU & DRAM Governor options to see which are the best, please update here.
*EDIT* Here's a link to the album I created here to post screenshots -

Suspicious apps 0 byte size and more

Think I posted this in the wrong forum page earlier. I posted it in questions, I wasn't sure because there is more to it than just apps. So sorry for the dupe.

Also. For a new phone that bloat ware/other useless things etc. Have been removed as much as possible without root, I still have 443 apps if I click show system apps.
Just a bump to show im still here waiting for some sort of reply. But really what happened to xda? You use to get answers for basically anything within 5 days max or atleast a comment or 2 asking for more info or w.e but now all you get is views?!?!?!?!
Dude, nobody owes you a reply! What do you want from people?! If people want to reply to you, they will! If they don't, tough luck! Maybe people don't feel like trying to sort through your wall of incomprehensible rants?
Yes, there are a ton of apps on your phone! That's how Samsung does things. Nothing you can do about it.

Unknown application

When acessing the application list that can be put into deep sleep (Battery and device care menu) , at the bottom of the list there is an application which contains 2 chinese symbols followed by 1 (see pic below)

. The application isn't however listed in normal app list, even if I am selecting to be displayed also the system apps. What is about, please ?
Translates to "Starry 1"...Where did you buy your device? If it's from a Chinese seller it's possible it's been loaded with China specific firmware which I would expect to include various monitoring and reporting apps.
It was bought from the one of the official shops of Orange - mobile phone company. How can i get rid of it ?

there are apps on PS that help you obtain the full package name of installed apps. with the package name you can use ADB to disable it.
Tried with some suggested apps, but unfortunately this app is not listed at all. As specified in my first post this weird app is listed only when accessing the menu "Battery and Device Care -> Battery -> Background usage limits" where I can select the apps that can be put into (deep) sleep. But if am accessing the menu "Settings -> Apps" it is not listed even if I am selecting to be dislayed also the system apps. Very strange....
you could also flash unlocked firmware too the phone. using the home_csc file will keep your own apps and data intact.
or you could phone up Orange and ask to be put thru to their technical department. maybe you can email them a link to this thread. they might enjoy the mystery detective quest.
The application is not using any permissions whatsoever. So for now I put it in deep sleep hoping that it does nothing. Will keep searching the net for some more info about it
