Can anyone share a link on how to root the Note 8 Duos w/ Android Pie OS? TIA
No sure if anybody has figure out how to do so yet.
I have an unlocked Note 9, and I'd like to update to the official Android Pie but it looks like it won't be released until all the carriers have released their updates? Is that accurate?
Also, I do have AT&T service but I also have the Samsung Upgrade program, so if I flash the AT&T ROM for Android Pie onto my Unlocked Note 9, would my device no longer be eligible for an upgrade?
Does anyone have experience with this?
Thanks!
The android pie update for the Samsung galaxy m20 just dropped. Has anyone been able to root it? Would the rooting method for android oreo work with pie too?
I just got the Galaxy Note 9 (SM-N960F/DS) and it's still on Android 8.1.0, security patch level December 1, 2018.
It won't update OTA, nor via Smart Switch.
The build number is M1AJQ.N960FXXS2ARL4, CSC is N960FOXM2ARK2
Is there a way to update it to at least Android 9.0?
Thanks in advance.

I do not know what you mean by genuine, it's original and unlocked.
How do I update it via ODIN if the firmware for this model hasn't been released yet?
Can I use any firmware to do it?

Man, the firmware for that phone with Pie has been release about a year ago..
Just because you didn´t get the OTA does not mean it hasn´t been released.
Just do a search here
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-note9/firmware/#SM-N960F
for your country code to get the latest
Also search the forum for the latest ODIN version, and you must know if your phone has a SnapDragon CPU or an Exynos CPU if you would like to install custom roms and/or TWRP recovery
Go for it..
OP your so lucky to be on oreo I'm jealous
Better to Stay on Oreo That Update it to Pie/10

Waw.. How lucky you are.
i think better you stay in Oreo that updated it to Android 9 (Pie) Or Android 10.
IMHO, true Power of Galaxy Note 9 is on Oreo. The Multitasking menu is far usable in Oreo than Pie. The Pro Video mode is basically available on Oreo. also, you can slide the Shutter button to Zoom-in/out. Thats only on Note 9's Oreo.
Believe me, you'll regret it once you've successfully update to Pie. CMIIW
Can safely say that Android 10 OneUI 2.1 is the best software for the Note9.

When I play Asphalt 9 it gets really hot but I'm not a gamer so that's a rare event for me xd That said that's the only game which really heats up my phone so much, others make it normally warmer.
Otherwise i haven't seen any issues at all the last 4 months since I bought the phone, Exynos version as well. I'm on OneUI 2.1 since 1 month ago. I never had the famous screen tint issue that others were reporting.
Mine was stuck on Oreo too. Always said that my device was up to date every time I would check... I downloaded android 10 from some where and used patched od to install it. Had to do a lot of updating of apps when it booted up but that's how it is.

Hello,
I would really like to get Samsung experience Oreo 8 on my Note 9.
I am aware of binary versions and that a simple software flash is not possible.
But in the S9 community i saw this:
[ROM] [S9+] Downgrade S9+ to Android 8.0.0 [G965FXXU1ARB3]
It's common knowledge that if Samsung releases an update, it will make the performance of our cellphones slow and the quality of the camera drops drastically, you miss the performance and quality of your camera back to the way it was when you...
forum.xda-developers.com
It's a stock android 8.0 custom rom for the phone, allowing for a downgrade even with a newer binary.
So, is something like this avaliable for the Note 9?
