Yeah, in general I've seen that the letters after the model number (c6906) don't mean too much about the hardware, but there are some exceptions.
And there seem to be almost no Sony devices without FM radio; in this case I hope/presume it's just a software omission, though I've never seen no FM app (or no usable FM hardware) on Sony devices in several years now.
Hello, how can I enable volte on my N920I? My carrier supports voice over lte but there is no option in settings. I'm in stock Marshmallow and rooted. If anyone knows how it would be appreciated thanks.
It's coded Into the base. You need to find a custom Rom. From t-mobile or whodver supports it.

Oh, okay. Thanks for that.
I have an LG L90 D415 from t-mobile that I use with a carrier here in Canada. It is rooted. NextRadio app didn't work.
My question is does spirit fm work on this device?
edit: nm it doesn't

Can confirm this as working on my VS988 running the latest 12B software.
Be sure to get the second version of the FM Radio listed in the thread that OP has linked. The user says he re-signed this version (as the first was corrupted) and it seems to work pretty well! True FM also; I tested by disabling data and wifi (of course headphones are required to use as antennae).
I hope we can get this forum more active! I feel like the Verizon G6 owners are few and far between...
Just loaded the radio app after I installed Oreo, works like a charm

Hi, VS988 user too here.. I'm from Indonesia.
It sucks when i realize that this version of LG can not unlock the bootloader.
Will there be any possibilities that someone will crack this version?
I installed the same apk and it's working 100%

Hi
I wanted to check with the image if the FM radio of the Zenfone 8 works with a ROM image for a non-EU country. So find out if the FM radio in the Zenfones for the EU is disabled by hardware or software (because I have not found a "definitive" statement on the net regarding this issue and my assumption was that the FM Radio was disabled by Software only)
But if the image for US and Europe is the same and the FM radio works in the USA but not in the EU then it is probably really disabled by hardware.

Bernd

Hi

Ah, that makes sense.
I assume the code for that decision is in the part of the ROM that is not OpenSource - correct?

Just tested with a SIM Card from a provider in UK : It does not work; neither with original Android 12 nor with OmniROM
Or is the FM Radio also disabled for Great Britain?

Just tested with a SIM card from a provider in the US (but again from within Germany) : FM Radio does not work using this card also neither with the Original Android 12 nor with OmniROM.
So I guess FM Radio yes or no is not dependent on the SIM card used -- probably it's enabled based on the Carrier used but that's something I can not test.

Bernd

I highly doubt if it's dependent on sim card or carrier. My zenfone supports FM and even if I don't have sim card and any cellular network, FM radio still works.
I guess it's simple disabled in the hardware.

hmm, may I ask in which country did you buy your zenfone? And do you use the international version of the ASUS ROM ?
I'm not sure how difficult it is to build Zenfones with and without FM enabled in the Hardware but I still hope it's only a software restriction

Bernd
Mine is from Hong Kong. Firmware is ww.
