Hello ,
After last update v12 of my mi9 lite i noticed some problems , like i can't save contacts to my gmail or sim card or anything the save buttom is grey(unreachable).
Also when i open call app i don't find my contacts or favorites people and when someone calls me it just shows number without name , the only solution is to restart my phone everytime .
Is anybody facing same problems ?
should i reset phone and lose everything or can i reset and keep my pictures and apps ?
What's best app for recording calls ? i use Cube ACR but it closes sometimes it's not reliable .

This is something which I had faced on my XDA IIs. If you go to messages you would actualy see three accounts / services ( Outlook, MMS and SMS ). Can you view all of them or just OUtlook and MMS . IF you dont see sms , do a hard reset and see if it appears and if it doesnt load a fresh rom .
Incase you see SMS , there is no reason why u should not be getting the SMS.

I have this problem that the contact name & picture does not show on my phone incoming calls, call logs etc. I have contact pictures for all my contacts in google, i can see them in the contacts , but the call logs and incoming call does not display the picture
i also notice in the call log it doesnt even show the contact name, just shows the phone number with "unsaved" written below.
when I add a contact to the PHONE contacts and not google then it shows name and picture, but my google contacts dont show. This is so strange as it worked before but suddenly now past few days it doesnt work
I have rooted the phone and used Titanium backup to disable a lot of applications after referring to the safe to remove list, I am familiar with that as i did the same on my S2 i had before.
anyone with any ideas on this please help.

Clear the Contacts and Contacts Storage data (under Applications Manager>All) and resync. that should solve it.
Failing that reboot in to recovery and clear both cache's.

I have a strange problem. When I receive a call from people stored in phone Contacts sometimes I can see the name who is calling, many times there is only phone number and no name!? All those calls are from people stored in Contacts.
All contacts was stored to the phonebook at one time by sync with my Gmail.
I look and tried everything in Options but I still have no solution.
I even tried to erase some contacts and added them back again and it s still the same.
Please help me!!!

Use other dialer (download any dialer from google store) . I had the same problem and this helped
I also had the same problem, I added the same number prefixed +44 as a secondary contact and that fixed it. And then I got a new dialer.
The problem maybe is with the duplicacy of contacts. If a no. is added twice then, no name is shown.. Also make sure contacts to display option has phone memory has phone memory selected and all contacts are also copied in phone memory & no duplicate contacts..

Go to setting -> Contact Storage : Clear Cache, Clear data
In Lenovo K3 note, "clear cache" & "clear data" are in DISABLE state in CONTACT STORAGE.
Can you tell me how to proceed further?

SOLVED !!!
I was also facing such hanging problem ! sometimes all contacts tab in WhatsApp used to load very slow!
I checked on many forums,
I had a Chat with Lenovo Support team, they suggested to do a factory reset,
I have also been to authorised service center, even they suggested to do a factory reset
But before doing a factory reset I thought to clear all data for Whatsapp (that reset my whatsapp) and since then I am not facing such issue !!
After Whatsapp reset, its about 5 days I am using my phone but no hang issue
1.
'Backup chats' from whatsapp setting
2.
Settings > apps > whatsapp > Clear Data
(this resets whatsapp, like new installation)
3.
uninstall whatsapp
4.
restart phone, and reinstall whatsapp from google play store
5.
run and sign in to whatsapp, It prompts to restore chat from backup, you can restore if you wish to (I restored)
6.
bang ! done, check yours...

My all Contacts/account SYNC is ON

I Flashed few days ago stocky rom 5.0.1 and now i noticed that i can´t send any pictures using whatsapp, also whatsapp backup is imposible to do
Every time i try to do back up it fails even in phone or drive.
When i try to send pic using whatspp it fails and there is a pop up thet media not found.
I notice also that i cannot send sms messages to new number, only old sms topics are usable.
I tried to use my old rom which was cm 12.1 and everythig works.
What next??
Edit: i noticed that new sms message is impossible to send numbers with country code .. normal numbers whitout country codes works fine.
I would take a look at your APN settings, I was having a similar issue and found an updated APN to use, and that fixed it.
Are your images stored on the phone or an SD card? Maybe try the other one?
Hi. I have the S21 ultra Exynos international version (France). I change it or the indonesian ROM in order to have call recording. Nevertheless I have a huge problem with my contact file. The phone messes up all my contacts. I tried several times using my contacts backup files : always the same result : it's a mess. Never be able to find all my contacts : both side mess up : Google (via pc synchronisation) or S21 ultra via Samsung account. Any idea to solve this ?
By the past I had an Oppo find 7 and I had the same problem (due to the Chinese contacts format?). I dont remember how I procedded in order to fix that.

Facts : once synchronised with my google account, all contacts have been "converted" in phone numbres i.e. I had lot of phone numbres of my contacts even in my sms and whatsapp recovered messages. In order to find a nam I had to search it within my contacts (samsung) application, edit it and then pass the call. In the same time when I took a look within the google contacts application I have the same problem, plus the fact that the number of my contacts is not the same as per the Samsung dialer/contacts application. Once I'm editing a contact and putting it in the "correct" form i.e. name then number(s) etc, there is not synchronisation withh my google account. Once i deleted all records from the Samsung contact application and imported my contacts via a vcard file (previously saved via pc through google contacts) I had the same result i.e. lots of numbers instead of names and some "correct" contacts. Synchronising with google does not provide a clean result and some contacts are missing. So i thing thtat there is a wrong mapping between google and my S21 ultra. I tried to make another import from my saved vcard to s21ultra and this time I declared to save all those contacts into my phone. I had the same result : lot of phone numbers and some "clean" records.

What is the problem exactly? You mention you have a problem, but not what the problem is.
You can also manage your contacts from contacts.google.com and sort/edit the information from there before syncing it to your phone.

What do you mean by "it's a mess" ? That could be anything. Do you mean duplicates? Or unintelligible characters? Or missing numbers?
Could you at least describe the issue in detail? I'm not sure anyone will be able to help you fix something unless they can understand what is broken...
