Packaging was great, just like you would see at department stores so nothing too special not cheap either. It was packaged in a clear plastic package that had a molding that held the product in place.
Fit is great as well it has the proper cutouts that are big enough I would say the biggest usb c chargers and headphone jacks. There are 2 1cm x 0.5 cm cutouts on the bottom that isolate the charge, headphone jack and microphone. Like I said very big and easy to access and I highly doubt they will compromise on protection. The only small hiccup with this case will be that the back camera and fingerprint sensor's are not aligned exactly in the center of the cutout. The cutouts for each of these allows for about 2 mm of space surrounding the camera and fingerprint sensor and the camera bump has been accounted for and well protected. Again the only "problem I see is the alignment is not perfect.
The quality of the case is superb and very clear. I was not expecting it to be this clear and am pleasantly surprised. Only thing is that time will tell is whether it will start yellowing or not. But as of right now this case is very clear and don't expect it to turn yellow. Also the material does add some grip to the phone without adding bulk. The case has a barely there type of feel to it and actually makes holding the phone easier.
To end I did receive this case for free in return for an honest review and that is what I have given it. I really do believe this is an outstanding case and cheap at that.
how about the material ? compared to google adopted clear case, is it provide same protection for a drop ?
Do not buy the Pleson case
The Pleson case may be a good case if you get it for free, but I bought it and am not happy with it.
The buttons feel bad with the case on and the edges are sharp all around the case.
This makes the case feel cheap and uncomfortable to use.
I ended up buying a Diztronic case and it works much better. It is molded well and has buttons that feel great.
I would not recommend that anybody buy the Pleson case.
I can't compare to Google case but my case wasn't sharp edged at all. The material slightly squishy but not like a rubber . My go to case is usually a diztronic as well and if I want a matte black I'll go there. I'll agree it's a little more difficult to press the button with this case vs my previous diztronic but it's not horrendous.

I got the case for free also. I found the buttons didn't feel right at first and the rear cutouts weren't aligned so great. Also had the left side front a bit loose.
Turns out I had to take it out of the case and put it back in. I slid it in the case with the top of the phone going in first instead of the bottom like I originally did.
Fits perfectly now, back is aligned properly and the buttons work excellent. I don't know how it got messed up before but that was my experience.

I am using the Spigen Neo Hybrid Crystal - I don't think it does curve per se, but it really does feel good in the hand and it is so thin - it is almost like not having a case at all. The case itself is soft plastic so it is mallable - and in a way it does sort of conform to the shape of the S7Edge, but I don't want to overstate it - with the metal frame around it, the frame itself will keep the soft plastic from curving in until your hand puts pressure on the case, if you know what I mean. The firmness of The steel (or aluminium) frame around the case will cause the back to be flat - but because the case is soft, when you hold it it will sort of conform with the shape of the phone. I love it - excellent case- I have always prefered Spigen Cases over the others. Really nice look and feel.
The other thing I like about it - is it makes it easier to hold the S7Edge and type or do stuff and not have the holding hand interfer by accidentally touching the edge.

does it protect the curved screen enough hows the lip ?
usually buy clear ultra hybrid or ringke fusion both give good protection and clarity for the back
i might also consider UAG they have great cases
Funnily enough, this is what I'm after too. I want a case that has a curve on the back similar to the rear of the phone itself.

I got a little bit different one than this from Spigen and it fits great, adds some grip, does not leave finger prints and is very slim. I can't really feel the curve, but it does feel great in hand. There is a slight lip at the top and the bottom of the case, so if you lay it on a flat surface the screen does not hit the surface. The side edges are exposed and it does not interfere with the use of the edge functions. I do think if the phone fell just right on the edge sides it could hit the ground where there is no protection. Hopefully they will make a tempered glass screen protector soon that will take care of this.

I don't believe it offers much protection for the screen - drop the phone screen down and it is likely to break - (depending on how high you drop it and how it lands of course) I think it does offer some decent protection for the phone - the back and the edges - I wish there was a good option for glass screen protectors but I don't think they have perfected that yet for EDGE..for now I am waiting on a pet type screen protector from Skinomi (I think that is how you spell their name).....

the one you bought looks identical to the one I bought - may be slightly different - I just realized that my case also has a "lip" at the top and bottom of the phone that keeps the screen from touching when placed on it's face. The only difference between yours and mine that I can see is the aluminum is gun metal grey on mine - looks great on the phone....
I got this but not got phone yet so can't comment.
Sorry this

I have 15 cases for this phone right now.
The one I have that fits your description is the Spigen Liquid Crystal.
It is clear and has the same rounded back sides as the phone.

otterbox has a crystal case as well I have the item reviewed but here is the link to the product http://goo.gl/vO0KLw

the problem with the liquid is that it doesn't provide enough protection for the screen
so i ordered the CLEAR ULTRA HYBRID in the end
now i gotta find some good screen protector..
Bah, I've used the crystal on 3 different phones and they have survived drops and usage just fine.
But I'm not one to buy a nice phone and wrap it up like an ugly mummy either.

Both are nice cases, you will be happy with either.
I'll probably get the Samsung clear case. I like to keep the phone thin and not hide it in a case. I know it's a risk as far as protection but I'm very careful with my phone. *knocks on wood* I will get something to put protect my phone when I put it in my golf bag though. lol
Hi
No matter how hard I look for covers, I just can't find any cover to adequately protect both the phone and it's screen sides.
The cases I found so far seems to either adequately protect the phone (Samsung's Protective Stand Cover is the best I found so far but won't adequately protect the sides, what if the surface is not flat?) or questionably adequately protect the screen (wallet type covers like Spigen Wallet S, Samsung official LED Cover and more).
Is there any case that would adequately protect both the phone and its sides?
If not, what would protect it the best?
Maybe I am wrong but I don't think I can rely on screen protectors, they've failed me in the past.
Thanks!
I am doing a search for cases with raised edges. The only decent one I have found so far is Encased Rebel. Don't listen to excuses like "raised edges would decrease edge function". Ask for proof that case edges are indeed raised. The Rebel has edges raised like half a milimeter above the screen. Not much but it is the most I found so far. With a glass screen protector (Whitestone) it is not raised anymore but almost level with the "screen". All the rest I tried leave edges exposed.

This is the first case I saw with raised lips on all edges, It doesn't really look good, is there any other option?
Do you think that wallet cases may do the job?
EDIT: btw, the buttons of the Encased Rebel case aren't good at all.
I haven't found another option yet. Waiting for another case, then I will give up and let the perfect one find me. To me it looks good enough and I don't mind the buttons too much.

i just want to stay in this thread. i would happily give up edge functions to have a lip that protects the screen along the sides. i just wish there was an option that was also considered "slim" not a fan of bulky cases, let alone bulky cases on a phone this large.
I did you guys a favor and ordered every note 8 case I could find that: *did* look like it might protect the edges and *did not* make me cover the glass or various ports.
I tried:
Spigen Tough Armor
Encased Rebel
TILL Knight Armor
WallSkiN Turtle
Zizo Static
Zizo Bolt
- The Encased Rebel is the only one that truly comes up above the edges at all.
- I had read that some of these tougher cases can break the phone just putting them on, so I was SUPER careful applying each of them... and I could see that if one were not careful, some of them would put a LOT of pressure on the phone during installation. Because of the way the hard shell part of this case comes in two pieces, it did not scare me putting the thing on - yet the hard part does stay well attached to the rubbery bit once you have it on right the first time.
- I don't have a problem with the buttons on mine, but I am careful to make sure the case's button bits are properly seated over the actual phone buttons. If you just slap that baby on, you may have a problem.
- The case isn't bulky
- Cordless charging works fine with this case
Last week I dropped my newly "encased" phone hard while running and while the corner of the hardcase broke, the phone was fine... I called that a win for now and just ordered another one.
AS for how it looks - I love purple EXCEPT for this particular color of purple. I tried to order the navy one but it is sold out. I can imagine that either the navy or black would look pretty good, but my husband has the same phone in a black case so ... I'm sticking with the somewhat lame purple for now - in order to keep peace in our little cellular community.
I figure in a few months I'll do another search to see if a different manufacturer has served this obvious need.
Thank you to @notefreak for your recommendation.
Got the N8 last week. I'm still looking for a good case that would give decent protection - not a fan of the tank cases. From the reads so far - the Patchworks have done a good job wrt to the N8.
Get Rhino shield. I have dropped a couple of times and it really protects my phone from all sides.
Search for venoro rugged note 8 case on amazon. This case definitely protects the sides of the note 8 but it makes it bigger. It doesn't go above the screen but it is quite a bit wider at the sides. It is a bit slippery on the back also. When you get it, it seems pretty cheap and seems like it would not go together correctly. When you snap it together with the phone in it is when it feels sturdier. Cheap.
Just take care of your phone and don't user it like a hook for climbing. I recommend the one provided when you buy the phone.

I wouldn't advise wasting your money on the case. Mine came today and I am sending it back. It is three pieces of cheap plastic. Not rubberized in any way. The pieces click together to form a hard shell around the back , top and bottom of the phone... Not the sides.
The back plate is also very thick and does not sit flush against the phone, so it makes a horrible rattling noise when the phone vibrates.
The phone feels better in the hand with the glass back. I'll take my chances with it naked unless something better comes out.

They are ok, but squeeze and air triggers don't work with them. Clearly ASUS didn't take into account having the sides covered by a case, you can tell that because the official case doesn't cover the sides meaning the squeeze function doesn't work with the sides covered.
I would advise to wait for a case that has the sides uncovered unless he doesn't care if that's the case then he can go with your suggestion.
P.S: Even if the case was good i wouldn't pay 60$ for any case period unless it doubles as a power bank 2

Good point. Hopefully, someone will consider those features. I do like how the cheap rubberized cases feel in hand compared to the hard plastic ones.
I was finally able to find a reseller for the ASUS RoG case, but they we asking $90USD for it....WTF, I decided on a 3rd party case, for $20, but
the case "supposedly" works for the airtriggers, but it doesn't. There are openings where the AirTriggers are, but the edges are too sharp, and the material just absorbs your applied pressure, and they never detect.
Instead of making an opening, might be better to add some conductive material, like what they use for winter gloves, and place them on the inside of the case where the triggers are located.
That sounds like a workable option.
Would be almost beneficial if they released 3d printing templates(something the've done in past with rog pc hardware) on rog.asus.com seeing as skinomi isnt the most thrilling alternative
It took me one week to discover my phone actually came with official case (creatively hidden drawer in the box). Within that one week that it's naked, it managed to get noticeable scratches on the left metal frame as well as on the back piece where the Aerodynamic System phrase is written. Looks ugly af now. ?
I hope this helps my detailed review of three of my best cases for the note 20 ultra... For those still on the quest of finding the perfect case.
Mod Edit
Mil drop protection with raised screen/cam protection and a easy to grip/clean surface.
Corner hits and face plants are common in drops; make sure the case you choose can handle a 2-3 foot drop onto concrete. Make sure any case fully protects the spen corner; they will corner hit here
Waterproofing not needed; these phones are well sealed.
These phones absolutely need a case. A good case makes them easier to handle, hold and helps prevent accidentally screen touches yet leaves the curved screen area easy to use.
For the 10+ the Zizo Bolt case is still my favorite. This type of two layer protection works well* and when in it's clip on back there are 3 layers.
*how I carry and occasionally drop it most times. The hard second polycarbonate shell reinforces the semihard urethane inner shell and keeps it in place during impacts.
After a few good corner impacts I replace the case to be on the safe side. It's the spen corner that I really keep a close eye on.
The retired cases still look great... spare parts as it's the urethane lining that could fatigue. Just not worth risking damaging a $1G phone over a $20 case.
I'm tempted to buy a bare case but it's unfortunately expensive.

The Bolt is under $20. My favorite all time case.
Don't let the price fool you...
https://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-Ultra...y=200623&hvtargid=pla-945538896475&psc=1&th=1
The cam protection for the 20 isn't as good as my 10+ but that's because of Samsung's blunder of making the cam array so wide.
If you do get a Bolt either keep the kickstand fully retracted or extended. If the stand is loose in your pocket it can dislodge its retainer pins. Happened once to me but they were in the pocket and I simply reinserted them.
The kickstand also makes a convenient handhold as well as to help keep the phone cool when charging.
I don't recommend using glass protector screens with this case. You might be able to but it may dislodge it when you're inserting the phone into the case.
I use wet apply IQ Shield urethane screen protectors.
I didn't have much faith in this case but after receiving it from Amazon I really enjoy the grippy feeling on the sides, the built-in kickstand and how easy it is to remove the phone if you need to compared to something like an OtterBox defender. The case I am referring to is the SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Case, Rugged Drop Protection Cover - Black which I purchased from Amazon and it's currently $28. I have already dropped it from probably 4 feet directly onto a hard stone floor and all it did was left a small scratch on one corner of the case but the S-Pen did eject which I've noticed happens alot regardless of the case.

Lol, it's so cute; the spen wuves to pop out. You need to be careful not to step on it or leave it behind.
The Bolts I have never looked worse for the wear after drops on concrete.
However when you see the urethane take on a shiny look near a point of impact it means it's been stressed. To error on the side on caution I replace them. The spen corner is the most vulnerable corner and the 10+ loves to fall right there.
Been doing good haven't dropped the phone in months... of course it's only a matter of time.
This is the perfect one for me. UAG Civilian Case. Feels great in hand and has excellent protection. Not too heavy like monarch but still great protection.

It's actually quit thin which makes it less of a handful.
It has enough meat to protect the phone but not overkill. The 10+ is way too slippery with no case.
This case sticks in my hand.
I hold by the bottom corner with my thumb a lot or by the kickstand.
I use the kickstand when charging to help it cool.
It's a cool looking case that doesn't attract dust. Cleans up pretty with a toothbrush and soapy water.
I go with grey or black as red or blue may throw off your screen color perception. Plus the darker color scheme doesn't "advertise" your holding a $1 G phone.

I kinda like the orange part and got it for this color combo You can try the blue version of this case, that has grey color instead of orange
