Hope is ok to open new thread for 2nd question...
When installing LineageOS for the 1st time on that device, would you install TWRP in the 1st place or would you 1st install LineageOS and later TWRP?

After installing LineageOS, it booted fine. So I started TWRP and flashed copy-partitions.
After reboot, it installed an OTA. And now it cannot boot to the new OS.
The X4 recovered and finally booted the old LineageOS.
What went wrong?
The answer is simple: the last OTA capable LineageOS release is 20191022. All later ones fail, look here.
Hello everybody,
I'm little outdated on Android things, so please excuse my stupid questions. But I want to be sure my process is OK.
I was on LOS 16.1 / TWRP / superSU and updated to 17.1 / LOS recovery / Magisk. After a LOS Update I noticed that I have no more root. I wanted to install Magisk root again via recovery and noticed I can't do that from LOS recovery. Is that normal?
To get back root my plan is to flash again TWRP (https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261695823), so I am again able to flash the magisk zip. Will this process keep my data an ROM as it is before? Is there any disadvantage? LOS recommends the LOS recovery. That's because I installed it...
Thanks a lot for your help!

Hello and thanks for your answer. Yes, it's OEM unlocked and unlocked boot loader. It's encrypted. But encryption shouldn't be a problem for that.
Thanks, Muralidharc22. All done!
Yesterday’s Lineage 17.1 nightly 29/05 did not have working telephony. No problem, install todays nightly, non booter! I am in a boot loop to Lineage Recovery with factory reset looking mighty attractive right now! GApps, Magisk & BusyBox...
What are my options?
EDIT:
I followed this guide to flash 17.1 LineageOS & GApps on Lake:
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/lake/install
I then separately (after first boot) followed step 5 of this guide to flash Magisk:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/how-to/guide-installing-lineage-t4075955
However am I missing a step for the Moto G7 Plus. I thought A/B booting was supposed to avoid this very scenario. In future I will keep a Nandroid backup, which will mean running TWRP insteada Lineage Recovery. Resetting LineageOS then booting into it minus Magisk & GApps I then flashed GApps from SD card but this resulted in all manner of wonkieness. Any help gratefully received.
Hello,
I am new to the world of custom ROMs, I have a huawei mediapad T5. I followed the guide and successfully rooted my device. then I installed TWRP from this link:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?do=showpost&p=76362629
I struggled to flash lineageos 16 on my device, after couple of hours, I found the installation guide from openkirin, that mentioned they don't support TWRP. but as I had already flashed my device with TWRP, I had no backup for stock recovery image. I tried to flash it anyway as mentioned in the openkirin site.
but now it stuck at TWRP screen. I am not sure how can I remove twrp completely from my mediapad t5.
After messing around I managed to boot into eRecovery from huawei, where I got option to download the stock firmware. that saved my day.
But I really want to flash it with LineageOS 16. I am not sure what can be done about twrp. Is there any way to remove it from my Mediapad, or is there any guide to install Open Kirin's LineageOS image onto my device along with TWRP?
Please let me know.

I managed to install Lineage OS onto my Mediapad T5. But I am afraid, I didn't like it much. It is not optimized for the tablet. There're unnecessary apps like Phone App, Messaging App etc. I only got Wifi version. Plus it has issues with Audio Output.
I am reverting back to stock ROM for now, Until better ROM is available from OpenKirin.

Got old S5 KLTE phone, ran 16.1, decided to update.
Flashed lineage-18.1-20210502-nightly-klte-signed.zip and now after long boot up animation it reboots straight into TWRP.
How do i get out of this loop ?
Make a backup, update TWRP, wipe everything, reflash LineageOS zip file and mindthegapps (optionally, if you need google services).
If you need further help, refer to the topic in the Unifed development subforum.
