Hello all
I am facing a problem with Wifi hotspot. When I am turning the Wifi hotspot ON with security set as WPA2-Personal,
the phone isn't detected by TP Link USB wifi adapter. But as soon as I remove the security, the phone gets detected.
One strange thing I noticed is that when the phone is connected to some other Wifi, the phone gets detected
by TP-Link USB Wifi adapter.
Please note that I have already set settings put global tether_dun_required 0.
Please help me fix this issue.
Specs :
Redmi 9 Prime
MIUI Global 11.0.6 Stable
Android 10.

Hello,
I have Redmi 4X phone and sharing internet connection (wifi tethering) is not working.
I can connect to wifi network created by phone, I can ping phone IP address. I do not have outside (internet) connection. I cannot ping any IP address from internet.
I have rooted phone (SuperSU), the newest MIUI Global 8.2 Stable (8.2.9.0 MAMMIEA) ROM, Android version 6.0.1 MMB29M.
Can someone help me?
Thanks in advance!

Hello forum members.
I want to share with You My Mi5 Pro WiFi problems, hoping someone can give advice so i can use my Mi5 Pro again.
The phone's WiFi has some issues:
It scan and display all networks, but can't connect to 2.4GHz networks.
It connects and work fine with some 5GHz networks. Also connect and work fine with 5GHz hotspot networks.
Bluetooth is working fine.
MiDrop can scan, but can't connect and transfer.
Hotspot is working only on 5GHz mode. On 2.4GHz can't share or connect to other.*
What I have tried to solve the issues:
Reset the phone.
Update the phone.
Flash other MIUI.
Unlock and flash other Android.
Rooted the phone and changed the WiFi MAC address (on MIUI).
Erased and flashed the modem (NON-HLOS.bin)(on MIUI).
No changes after all my attempts.*
And also, after all My attempts, I have noticed something. When I try to connect to 2.4GHz network (unsuccessful of course) and leave the WiFi on or off (the WiFi is not connected) , the phone's battery is draining very fast. If I connect to 5GHz network (successfully), and after that turn off the WiFi,**the battery is not draining fast.
If someone have any advice, or something I can check or share more info, I'm here and waiting.*
Thanks.
PS:Correction, 5GHz is not working with any router. More specifically, it's not working with most routers.
Maybe it's hardware problem. WIFI antenas disconnected?
Maybe, bit i hope it's software.
When i remove the antennas there is no wi-fi networks even detected, or only the closest ones are shown very weakly.
My brand new Realme X2 Pro is not detecting my 5Ghz wifi routers. I tried with another realme model also and that also doesn't detects this 5Ghz Wifi router. I tried searching with various other brands phones like Apple, OnePlus and Redmi which shows up my 5Ghz router without any issues. Seems like it's a software problem. Please look into the issue very seriously as many industrial Wifi Routers work in this 5Ghz band.
You are on custom ROM or on realme UI ? What channel your router set to. Which country you use your phone . When I am on custom ROM I can not see routers that have channel over 64 but on realme UI I can .
No problems here and I'm only connected to my 5ghz band,
On EU model with latest RUI update
i hava same issue with you. And i fix it with this severals way:
1. Turn on air plane mode
2. change your phone region to Singapore
3. restart your phone
4. then try to connect to 5Ghz wifi
CAN'T CONNECT TO WIFI ON PIXEL EXPEIENCE PLUS!!
