I haven't received Android 11 via OTA in my country but when i connect my mobile with PC via Smart Switch then it shows Android 11 Update. Which method is better? Should i wait for an OTA release or go for Smart Switch method?
Is Android 11 out for your model for sure? Maybe smart switch is just confused?
I once had a Samsung J2, bought new, which could not find an OTA update. I decided to update it via Smart Switch. After the reboot it started in the purest Chinese language, no google services, no google play, only Chinese apps. I wasted a few hours on Chinese forums until I found an English and google integrated ROM version that I flashed with Odin and bye-bye warranty ...
So my advice is to wait for OTA update!
I updated via Smart Switch and yeah it's android 11 because i confirmed PDA and CSC from SamMobile firmware section before updating it. Everything is working fine and i love One UI 3.0

Hi, I've got a galaxy note here in the Philippines, I bought it from a store who seems to have gotten the unit from another country, because I'm not getting the XXLA# updates, I'm still stuck at the KK5 update which I checked isn't for the philippines.
And since last week there's been and LA# OTA update for my friend's galaxy note which was purchased at a local samsung store here in the philippines, which i'm not getting on mine.
My question is if I manually update via Odin to the same firmware("philippine" firmware) as my friend's note. Will I still be able to get future OTA updates?
And if I do which updates will I be getting in the future, will i get the one he gets too, or will it still be from whatever country my unit came from.
Sorry for the long post. Thanks!
I think you can get future update using odin without losing root. If you go with OTA update in the future, but you will loose root.

If you don't mind wiping your device (and backing up/restoring etc), you could change your CSC code to another region which is getting the updates sooner for example DBT. Search the forums on how to change it, and if you have done this after flashing the latest LA# stock ROM from your chosen region, you should receive all the latest updates OTA or via kies. If your csc doesn't match the stock rom region then lies won't update.

I've actually read a some about changing the csc of my device after putting up this post Sadly though when I checked my csc, I only have XEU.
So if I understand correctly, official OTA/Kies updates will be provided to your phone as long as you have an official rom with it's matching csc am I correct? And that the serial of the phone or any other data doesn't matter.
I had a uk unlocked note on XEU .. I couldnt change the CSC
I took the plunge because I was sick of the LA4 wait for the UK Version XEU
I flashed German LA4 with odin
My phone is now faster .... better keyboard and best of all I now have access to all the CSC's ..
If you flash an official firmware it doesnt affect the binary count ... I dont think it voids your warranty either because your flashing official samsung software
Here is a guide for flashing
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
All you do is download odin , download LA4 from german note (all shown on page)
extract the LA4 kernal .... open up odin , click on pda and click on where you saved the file
Put your note into download mode (power , home and volume down) ....
click volume up
Then connect your phone to the usb cable ...... you will get a yellow confirmation on odin and click start .. within 5 mins you have new flashed version .. it doesnt wipe your handset all settings are kept
Plus you will then be able to change your csc to which ever country gets the next update (usually germany)
Good luck well worth the plunge ..
As you handset is XEU you will retain english settings

Hey guys.
I bought my phone from AT&T retail shop in the US last year. But unfortunately I had to move back to my home country. Ever since the August 2019 Security Patch, I have yet to get any update. The AT&T website indicates that my phone is due to get an update in December 2019 but I have yet to get it.
Is there a way I can resolve this. Whenever I check for updates, it indicates that my phone is up to date. This happens also when I use Smart Switch application.
Samsung S10, Snapdragon 855
Model: G973U
Baseband Version: G973USQS2ASGK
Thanks in advance.
August? You are like 4 or 5 updates behind! Android 10 is out for the S10 now. You're probably going to have to flash the latest firmware using the patched version of Odin floating around the forum here.

Unfortunately since August. But thank you for this insight..I have been searching for days on what I should do. Though I would like to know when I do flash using Odin, will I start getting updates or do I need to update manually every time.
Also if there is any other way of solving this problem without having to flash my phone I am willing to give it a shot.
Flash whenever you want, but it will reset your phone unless CSC_home is used. You might get updates after flashing with Odin as long as your SIM card matches the firmware (i.e. T-mobile firmware and SIM), but then again you might be stuck using Odin to update every time.
I need to go back because full screen immersive mode wont work in android 10.how do I get back? I'm using uk unlocked note 9.not rooted
Download latest Pie firmware for your Note model and use Odin to install..
Is it easy?are you sure it will work I'm on offical uk android 10 jan patch ota
Hi, did you manage to get fullscreen working or did you end up reverting back to android 9?
I'm trying to find out if immersive mode works in the latest Android 10. I use fullscreen all the time and don't want to lose the feature.
Hi, I was reading that a lot of people are receiving the Android 10 software update on their phones. I want to know if it still on Beta or if there is a stable relase. I have my mi 9 lite with MIUI 11.3.4.0 with Android 9. When I could get the Android 10 version?
Hey, i got the update recently but not through OTA. I choosed to install it my way with twrp.
You can do the same.
I'm actually on a EU Android Q rom update and have to say that everything is running the way it should actually.
But i'm not also an intensive user. So I can't tell if you will not encounter any bug.
Afaik it's stable enough at least for my daily use.
If you want android 10 download the update manually and install it through updater app. I suggest to wait for the release when it be on the official site. android 10 is still drains battery much more than android 9. Here is the recovery update: https://bigota.d.miui.com/V11.0.1.0.QFCMIXM/miui_PYXISGlobal_V11.0.1.0.QFCMIXM_212c62202d_10.0.zip
I installed Android 10 OTA but now a few apps that worked on Android 9 isn't working. Or are very slooow.
I.E. stock camera. When I take picture, nothing happened. It didn't took the picture or saved it.
Five minutes later i tried again and then photos showed up when I opened cam again.
ES explorer is very slow.
Parallel space keeps crashing.
And the worst of all...ADS. MSA is off, recomended aps also and Xiaomi apps and browser full of ads. I have installed blokada and DNS 66.
I got WhatsApp video call and the phone didn't ring, no notification. I saw missed call when I opened WhatsApp chat.
Any advice/help?
I don't think that this is stable release.

I've already received the update via OTA and installed it. I didn't want to put my phone in risk by forcing an update

Congarts. But be sure that downloading update and use updater app to update the downloaded file ain't risky at all, cos If it's not official the updater app won't accept it.
Hi,
I am stuck on android 11 with oneui 3.1. my current version have the security patch from november 2021...
I am up to date according to the phone (OTA)
My current version is RP1A.200720.012.G781USQS6DUJ4
And the service provider version is SAOMC\_SM-G981U\_OYN\_XAA\_QQ\_0006 XAA/XAA/ATT
Does anyone have any idea how I can update my phone ?
phone AT&T if you and the phone are still in the states.
alternatively you can download the latest update and flash it yourself. in that situation though such a big jump would be best starting over and downloading your apps from scratch or at least wipe your cache.
But I'm french and bought it in france (new, not second hand). I never went in the us, and I'm not planning to...
Is there another way? Maybe using a vpn?
I might be willing to flash an update manually but I would like to have ota update in the future...
Edit: Also I have no idea which version to flash manually
