S5 G900A Root then update? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

Hello, I have an AT&T S5 and I am confused on what I need to do to updated the OS on the phone. Do I root it then install new OS?
Can I do this;
How to Root ANY Samsung Galaxy S5 Variant (Even AT&T & Verizon) in 20 Seconds Flat
With a root bounty of over $18,000 up for the taking, developers were highly motivated to get the AT&T and Verizon Wireless variants of the Samsung Galaxy S5 rooted. Legendary hacker George Hotz, aka Geohot, has won the race and can now step up to claim his prize.

Then where do I get the Android 10 OS files? Thanks

Lmfao that's root for KitKat

Do Not update to Android 10. It will screw up that phone...
Just be aware of your older OS's vulnerabilities.
Adjust your setup and usage accordingly.

any root for att s5 mini?

are there any root files or techniques for the ATT variant of the s5 mini ?
Wow. Hard to believe no one can or wants to do this with the SM-G800A's locked bootloader since it came out last year.

Root for s5 g900a questions

I am new to rooting and have no idea about it.
I have a galaxy s5 at&t 5.1.1 lollipop, and im trying to figure out if there is rooting for it. I tried kingroot and it some days there will be a strategy and some days there isnt.
I found out about systemless root and i have no idea if it works with my version, and i went into recovery mode or whatever its called and i had no idea what to do there....if there is a root or anything out there or lead me to the right direction that would be great thanks.
As far as I have found there is no root or downgrade available for the at&t variant of the s5 (g900a) running 5.1 plenty of us are waiting to update to it, and even more are in your position being stuck there.
Is it worth it to get a new s5 running 4.4.4 ?
Asking opinions here of the group. I can buy a mint condition g900a that still has kitkat 4.4.4 on it so I assume it can still be rooted. Is this worth buying or not?

It can still be rooted.
Correct, however if you can find a g900t in the same range piecewise it would be a better investment

If you had taken the time to actually search (you don't even need the search function), you would have learned the easy way rather than making 3 threads all asking how to root an AT&T that:
SM-G900A running JellyBean (5.1) and MarshMallow (6.0.1) can not be rooted.
Stop creating umpteen threads asking the same damned thing or the mods will end up banning you for breaking the rules.

I don't think that's completely right. At the moment 5.1.1 Lollipop is rooted if you are PA2 or under. Marshmallow remains unrooted but it is possible to downgrade to 5.1.1 PA2 for root.
5.1

AT&T N920A Root?

Hi, so I recently got a Note 5 and I'm coming from a nexus 5 which was easy to root. Now I have a N920A and I'm reading that there's no root for this device. Is that true? I'm a complete noob to Samsung devices and I love the power of root so I'm disassappointed that it cannot be rooted. Has anyone found a way to get full root? If so, can you please link the thread? Also, on a side note, how can I manually update the Android 7.0 from 6.0.1 on the N920A model without bootlegging? Thanks everyone.

I imagine you are on the latest Nougat since we can't stop the upgrade/update... Rooting was only available on older versions like 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The S4. I figure it's a better device to start with than bricking my S6 Edge. Lol. I can't free up the bootloader on the S4 though I got it rooted but bootloader isnt unlocked
Verizon locks the bootloader on their phones
