Is Note charger same as Galaxy S2 charger?

Hi,
Getting an EU version of the Note, so I need to buy a Uk charger, is the charger for the Note and Galaxy S2 compatible? Thinking buying a 3rd party Galaxy S2 charger on ebay.

I suspect any 5v microusb charger delivering over 0.5A will be fine.
Expansys sent me a standard HTC one (5v 1A) with my german note and I am in the UK.

I can't answer the question directly, but that big screen, fast processor and larger battery are going to take a bit more juice than your average phone, including the S2. When it comes to mains chargers that may not be a big deal, unless you leave the phone active while charging, but might become an important consideration if trying to use the phone for satnav in the car, for example.
At the moment I'm using an Orange San Francisco. That has a 3.5" OLED screen and a 600MHz single core processor, so hardly an energy guzzler. The supplied charger is rated at .7A. In the car, when using satnav, my generic USB car charger cannot quite keep pace with the energy demands of that little phone and the battery level actually drops slowly while connected to power in the car. I'm definitely going to be looking for something more robust for the Note.

Note charger is 1 amp, Nexus S .7 amp, Note charges fine off the .7 amp charger.

I assume a standard Samsung GS charger would do, the output on it is 0.7A?

Surprise, my car charger was not good enough for the S2 while using nav software, but the Note charges nicely.

You not only need a charger that can deliver more oomph, but also a lead or charger, possibly modified, that will allow the phone to draw that current. I have 1A USB chargers for the car but a regular data/charging lead only permits the phone to charge at the standard USB maximum current of 0.5A. I had to open up one of my chargers and solder the two centre pins together. Shorting those two pins signals to the phone that it can draw the full "mains" current rather than the 0.5A USB maximum.
I haven't yet charged the Note in the car, but on my previous phone the charging status would show "Charging (USB)" prior to the mod and once modded it would show "charging (AC)", which is what you need to keep the phone charged and charging while in use rather than slowly depleting.

I have used the 2 amp charger of my galaxy tab 10.1.
I have the impression this charges my note noticably fatster.

1 amp is good..same as the GS2, i believe... so , yes- the GS2 charger should work on the Note

I can confirm that SGS2 charger works on note. However charging is slow ( its 0.7 A )
However the note charger ( 1.0 A) charges faster
dont have a 2 A charger to test but I would say that it would be the same speed as 1 A charger.
If we want faster charging, we will need the kernel to modified.
The downside would be shorter battery life.

Thing is would the USB cable that comes with the note (designed for computers) be suitable in carrying 1000mAh?
I heard that USB cables that come with phones are 0.5mAh so it won't make use of the 1000mAh...
Can anyone confirm this? If so then it's better to buy an out and out 1000mAh plus wall charger or a worldwide travel adapter.

That's also what I want to know.
There is no reason why it wouldn't work. It's just like going on holiday... US plugs to Euro/UK etc
So that's the route I will end up taking. But I may purchase an out and out 1000mAh wall plug anyway... even a 2000mAh...

I am 20000000% sure it can such a low current.
( Just think , would samsung bundle a cable that does not support the charger )

strange... my SGS2 came with a 1 amp ... i'm not complaining

yes it will work fine, because the charger accepts 100-220vac 50/60Hz

The Samsung power adaptor that comes with the Note is a Universal one (110 Volts - 240 Volts) and is rated at 5 Volts 1 Amp output.
If you need an alternative for some reason (or a spare).........
Personally, I am using a generic iPad mains adaptor with dual USB sockets. The device was made in China and has a total current output of up to 2 Amps. It is a also a worldwide model. I think it charges faster than the Samsung charger.
It also charges the Note when using the MHL>HDMI output. I have read some postings that the Note very slowly loses charge when the MHL>HDMI adaptor (which has to be externally powered) is in use. With this 2A adaptor, it continues to charge.
You could also try the Genuine iPad adaptor that also works worldwide and delivers a genuine 1 Amp rather than some of the cheapie models that struggle to supply that current.

Charger Behaviour for Nexus 7 on Griffin Dual USB PowerJolt

I have this Griffin Dual USB PowerJolt Car Charger and its been working perfectly on all my devices, Playbook, Blackberry 9900, Samsung Galaxy S3, iPhone 3G, iPad 2 and many others but for some reason, this charger just don't want to work with my Nexus 7. I don't know why its so picky and wondering if you guys could help me identify the problem and preferably with a good working solution.
I tried opening it up and follow the advice from http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-m...m_ciu_pdp_images_0?ie=UTF8&index=0&isremote=0. Both pins are already been soldered together but the Nexus still isn't charging!!
This makes me wonder where's the USB standard? How are some device / chargers so picky? What did the manufacturers do to prevent charging on other devices or charging through a non compatible charger?

Thanks a lot. I did read up all the posting regarding the USB charging issue on the N7 but I still can't find the answers. I read about people having the Griffin PowerJolt and not able to charge their device.
After downloading the Battery Monitor Widget and plugging to my Griffin PowerJolt (short D+, D-), the device is charging (estimate: 384mA) but still not showing as charging. It shows Discharging and Unplugged. I don't think its the USB cable since the cable works on my PC.
So what causes this issue?

It doesn't matter why, just that your Griffin does not do a good job of charging. If you want more either buy oem or any charger designed to work with Samsung, those devices should work better.

I guess I still blame on the N7 for being so "picky" since the Griffin USB charger charges ALL devices, including iPad, Playbook, Samsung S3, iPhone and Blackberry but just not N7.

Yep, the Nexus 7 is picky. No question about it. But your chargert *does* charge your Nexus 7, the Nexus just doesn't indicate it's charging.
Personally, I bought two KMASHI chargers from Amazon. It's a 5V 2A charger and it works great. Charges at greater than 1Ah and the N7 indicates it's charging. Won't charge an iPad but it works for me. The one I bought is http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008XQYH1G but it shows as unavailable now. I suspect the other KMASHI chargers will work the same, though.

It charges it but its slow. Being rated at 1A, its can only charge at 300mA+ so its rather disappointing plus the charging isn't consistent. Sometimes when I plug in, it will charge, sometimes not so its another disappointment. But I guess I quickly adapt it and don't bother too much now.
I can still use my in car Head Unit with a build in USB port. At least I am getting 400mA+ and it shows as charging so I am ok

Ive been recommending this Sprint 2A dual usb charger to everyone. Its a OEM charger so you can expect a high quality product that works as it should and it puts out the required juice to rapidly charge the N7. It also has the added benefit of doubling as a wall charger. Hey All.. I looked forever to find a solution. The Targus 2A car charger has a small (3") adapter cable that comes with it purportedly for Galaxy Tab. That little cable with the data wires shorted on the device end allows the N7 to be charged from ANY 2A car charger. I'm using the adapter with a Scosche dual 2.1 Amp Car Charger

Edit: I just built a usb cable with the data wires shorted on the Nexus end (cut, strip, short micro usb end green and white, remake connections red to red and black to black, insulate splices individually, wrap all in electrical tape or heat shrink for strength and beauty) and it works with all chargers. Took about 20 minutes.

Can someone confirm details on Note 5 and Wireless Base

I purchased the official Samsung Wireless base (white) and I have a Note 5 (white). Anyways the base didn't quite workout with the case I have on my Note 5. I returened the Samsung Wireless base, though I might have confused the Adapter and Cable. Anyways can someone confirm this for me please.
Does the Wireless base come with a normal Samung wall charger or Fast Charging?
Does the Note 5 come with a thin white USB cable or a thick white USB cable?
I was disappointed it didn't work and didn't pay too much attention on what charger and USB cable I got to repackage the Wireless Charger.

It depends which wireless charging pad you purchased (although i don't think you could have purchased a fast charge pad yet because white is still showing as coming soon on their website).
In that case you probably bought the older style pad, which does not have a fast charging rate, and uses a normal wall adapter (not fast charging). I believe the cables are all thin...
Most likely your case is too thick to allow wireless charging, from what you say.

Actually it worked fine the first time, but then for some reason the other times it would charge for some minutes and then start blinking and disconnect. I tried it on and off, and it didn't make a difference. I said screw it, doesn't work fine, and don't want that happening at night without me noticing and then realizing in the morning it didn't charge.
I have Samsung chargers and cables stored everywhere, so I might have gotten the wrong cable for that Samsung Wireless Pad (the circular one with LED coloring). I think I confirmed the charger I kept is the Samsung Fast Charger and the thin USB cable that states 5.3v @ 2.0A and 9.0V @ 1.67 which I think is the original as the thicker one don't think would fit on the slot on the Note 5 box.
I think I sent them one that came with another Samsung phone, the one that says Verizon on the sticker tabs, hope they don't find out .

Question Compatible 15w wireless chargers?

I've noticed Samsung S21 ultra supports 15w wireless charging - I was just wondering if all 15w wireless chargers were compatible? Or whether they specifically have to support "Samsung fast charge 2.0" - like the official chargers?
Wondering what others have bought? Let me know! Thanks!

While generic 15w chargers will work, there are other factors that needs to be considered. Such as what kind of brick you are using with the charger and things like how thick the case you are using.
Sammy only have one 15w charger and that is OG stand. The other sammy fast wireless charger is 9w (input still requires 15w though)
Can't comment whether which 15w is reliable or not as they are 3rd party and varies from company to company.

A fair point. I guess if you use a QC 3.0 brick with at least 15w output - with a 15w wireless charging pad it should theoretically work then?
Be interesting to see which ones people find works for them!

Probably works but wireless charging is inefficient and needlessly raises the battery temp which is detrimental to its longevity in the long run.

An 8 W Samsung wireless charger does not heat up the S21 ultra more than the 15 W charger I have (this cames with my Note 9). I would think a 25 Watt charger would heat it up more. The reason I bought the wireless charger was for my Note 9 and now the S21 ultra is that my Note 9, despite considerable babying, is showing some issues with the socket (it often will show cable charging instead of fast charging and despite changing cables, cleaning out the socket with compressed air and a toothbrush etc). So yes, in general you are correct but socket wear must not be discounted.

I hear what you're saying about the port. I do a lot of partial midrange charges so 3-4 times a day isn't uncommon.
The biggest thing is not to hit/drop it when a cable is connected.
Battery or port assembly the phone needs to come apart...

I can't seem to find specs on their site now, but when I bought mine they claimed they were 15w. I only bought them for how they look. I personally don't care how fast they charge, I prefer slow charging for better battey life, I'll use wired chaging when I need something faster. I have fast wireless charging disabled on my phone. But I just checked it, if I enable it, it does say "fast wieless charging" on the sceen when I place it on the pad, and the time to full charge is a little quicker than with fast wireless charging disabled. Still not as fast as wired though.

So the best way to check this is to download Ampere!
Grab it from Google play store, install it, and then open it while you are charging the phone on different wireless pads.
You work out the Watts by using;
Amps x Voltage

Looking for a wireless car charger

Hello! I'm looking for a wireless car charger for my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 ultra. My Baseus charger (on the screenshot) broke after only a year of usage.
It has 10w output and so when the navigation is on it only helps keep the charge.
Sometimes Xiaomi 20w car charger is recommended but according to reviews it still chargers Note 20 Ultra with 10 watts, 20w is only for Xiaomi charging protocols.
Can you advise me a charger that is compatible with and can charge the device with more than 10w?

Just look in Amazon, there's a lot of them that offer different watts for charging, not expensive either unless you go with name brand

I am looking for one as well. I have two scosche magicmount chargers that are fast charge. The 9v 1.67A or roughly 20 watts, but these will only charge the new note 20 ultra at 10w. From what I can tell they start off fast charging then the phone stops them and only allows the 10w. I took one of these apart along with a Samsung branded fast charger, the biggest difference I saw right away was the samsung charger had dual coils. So I think that may be the difference the phone recognizes because the voltage and amperage are the same.
I'd like to find one that has the same or similar magnetic mounting system. Its mostly a matter of convenience but also I have used clap ones before, not all were wireless chargers but the manual one often broke on me and the one automatic one I have has a touch button on the side that is very sensitive, so it often releases when I don't mean for it too.

How has this Xiaomi charger fared? And how fast does it charge the N20 Ultra? The one I have doesn't charge the N20, just keeps it at a constant level but the same charger does charge an S7 and a Note 9 much faster (so probably coming up against the Sammie 'lets annoy customers by making them buy only Sammie wireless chargers' issue!). I have tried moving the phone up/down a bit to see if that's the issue but no luck.
So, looking to get something that charges faster and will get this one if it does so. Anyone else have the Xiaomi charger and is happy with it?

I am still happy with it, it charges my s23 ultra fast, the screen says fast wireless charging so, it is still good.
