Phone is working, display broken - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

Hello,
The display on my K20 pro is broken, but the device still works (receives calls and notifications).
According to the service lab the battery got swollen and killed the panel from the inside.
It will take 2-3 for replacements to arrive from China.
1. During this time is there a way for me to screen cast my phone somewhere using ADB commands?
I have a lot of important things on the phone I need access to (I'm not using any cloud services by choice)
and can't wait 2-3 weeks...
2. Does anyone know a legit replacement part store with EU stock that get here in 4-5 days?

I found this:
Mirror Android screen with ADB connection wirelessly | MetaHackers.pro
Most of the time, when developer need to showcase their android apps, or mirroring their Android phone onto a screen, they usually use third party apps to do that. Did you know that you can mirror your android phone in your linux desktop through wireless ADB without relying on any
metahackers.pro
Surely that means there must be an easier way to do it over USB?
I will give it a try anyway.

[Q] Screen (blinks, flashes) turns on automatically

Hi, I looked for other threads in which someone else faced the same problem, but I have not found any answer nor good solution.
The problem is that the screen of my S3 MINI turns on automatically.
I changed the ROM twice (2 different ones, CM 10 and 11), so I don't think the reason is a single "defective" app: I believe in another explanation, according to which the reason would be a broken pin inside the microUSB port of the smartphone.
That pin let turn the screen on like if it was put /unput in charge.
The Question: is there a ROM / KERNEL / APP that prevent the screen from making this error?
How much is hard to edit a rom/kernel in order to avoid that the screen lightness wolud depend from that pins?
And if the reason is a defective app, has someone ever discovered which one is?
I'm afraid it's a way to screw the consumer: this automatic and uncontrollable activity of the display destroys the battery life. It's like if the smartphone is broken: you should change it.
I cannot accept that a 440€ smartphone acts in this way. I'll never buy a Samsung product.
I won't talk about the home button broken (could someone give me an advice on which app that simulates the virtual buttons is better?).
Thank to you all!
Pietro C.
UPDATE 28/12/2014 h14:34 ITA
I did a screenshot and I also photographed with a camera the display while it was showing the CPU activity. I noticed something (an app? a opened file? a function?) that appears only when the display turns on automatically. Some green words. I'm going to upload photos.
UPDATE 16:30
Cannot upload photos. Here are the scripts that appears on my phone:

UPDATE 03.01.2015
I fixed the issue at the moment. I installed CM 11-20140823 after wiping and formatting data.
I installed the lowest number of Google Apps (here I chose Nano Modular Package: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44417509#post44417509 ).
I'm quite sure it's a issue caused by a unidentified google app, because when the phone was "clean", the screen kept turned off ALWAYS, unless I pressed the accension button.
Now that I installed ONLY Google Play and Google Services, the screen is ok.
So I will download only the most useful Google Apps, hoping that won't find the one infected (if I'm right about the cause of the automatic flash of the screen).
I also discussed about this issue here , and I discovered that many people are searching for a solution.
Maybe someone could confirm or contradict my theory.

System stops responding when charging

I am having an odd issue. Every night I put my watch on the charger when I go to bed and in the morning it has an error and is frozen. Something about the system is not responding and a yes / no. ( I assume it is asking if I want to wait or restart the process). Sometimes I can press "no" and it comes back, sometimes it just comes back without having to do anything and other times I have to shut it off (hold the button in till it shuts down). About 20% of the time when I manually force it to restart, it appears to be reinstalling the apps. It acts like it had an update when I am sure there was not. Once is a while it gets stuck during the day, but I only see it about twice a month at most. It could be happening more than that, but I see it pretty rarely.
There are at least 2 different processes which have a problem, sometimes I fix one and I see the other about 10 minutes later. I think one is "android" or "system", but neither look like an app I installed.
The watch is stock. I will uninstall some of the few apps I have, but I have yet to find a way to have an app on my phone but not on my watch. Just because i want an app on my phone does not mean I want it in my watch and is it causes problems on my watch, it would be nice to be able to remove it from my watch but still have it on my phone.
Some things Google does are just silly.
Factory reset the watch. You may need to connect via adb and wipe it completely to start fresh.
You can block certain apps on the watch. This is controlled from the AW app on your phone.
If it continues to fail you should check out the LeeDroid Urbane port. It comes with an upgraded kernel which supports WiFi. I am on the 1.0 version and it works flawlessly plus up to 3 days battery life on a charge.
You will need the drivers from the Android SDK tools to communicate ur PC to the watch.

I will give the factory reset a try over the weekend, but could you explain where in the wear app you can remove or control what is installed on the watch? I can only find options to disable particular actions or notifications, nothing that removes apps without removing it from my phone. For example, I have amazon shopping and Duolingo on my phone, but I don't need the apps, or links to the apps on my phone, but there is nothing on wear or in the apps which controls what is on the phone except notifications.

Android Auto connectivity workaround that works!

Workaround that works 100% of the time for those having trouble connecting.
Unlock phone and turn on car or head unit. Note you should have android auto installed already before this will work. Plug in the cable to your phone and you will hear the link sound and the screen on your phone will flash off for just a second. As quickly as possible once the screen goes black on your phone uncable the phone and reconnect it. I know this sounds janky, but it really works. You can tell it is working by the screen on your head unit going black in the background and you will see the android auto icon sI have tried all suggested fixes and this is the only one that works 100% of the time. It also does not take over the telephone's display so you can navigate to other apps and still have android auto running. It is quick and gives you the best of both worlds. I almost returned my 2016 gti due to the frustration from this issue, but now it is no big deal.
Hope this helps guys and gals.
No. For what I read , the only API available for 3rd parties are to send messages and music, and that, using google interface. No other developer can do anything with AA.

Need to disable ALL of the battery optimization function on a pixel 4xl Android 11

Hi, I need to completely remove or disable battery optimization on a pixel 4xl. Something has changed on one of the updates, and now when I'm using any map program like google maps, or lyft driver, or uber driver and lay my phone on the wireless charger in the car, something goes to sleep and navigation stops working within 10 seconds. If I pick the phone up and shake it, navigation starts working again. If I hold the phone and it is moving around a little constantly, it keeps working.
I have disabled battery optimization on google maps, uber, lyft, carrier location services, and nothing helps. I need to disable the entire fscking thing because battery life is irrelevant to me ifI can't use it to work.
Looking for any assistance with ideas of how to fix this, whether it be rooting and adding something that will let me disable it, or just going with a completely different rom altogether. I'm happy with the current capabilities of the phone, minus the factthis singular thing is fscking up and it used to not do this.
TIA
The test...
Developer options >standby apps
If all power management is disabled, all buckets will show as active. If any other state is assigned to any of them power management is active.

The problem is caused by one of your installed app settings that you fscked with. You can try resetting app preferences under Settings>>Reset options. If this doesn't work just reset the phone and be done with it. Best way to do this is flashing a FULL image at the beginning of the month if you are unlocked. Otherwise do a FDR from Recovery. You talked about rooting so your phone must at least be bootloader unlockable. In lieu of FDR, just unlock the bootloader which will wipe the phone (you don't have to root) so in the future you can flash full images. MANY tutorials and guides on how to unlock the phone.

Question Has anyone had trouble with Android Auto

I've found that my phone has *the most annoying bug* with Android Auto - AA will work absolutely fine when you connect the phone, but then freezes / stops responding as soon as the phone's screen timeout expires and the phone auto-locks.
AA doesn't freeze, when using the same cable and same car, if I swap the phone to being my OnePlus 8 Pro - which suggests this is definitely a Find X3 Pro issue
(I'm on the 15 firmware, and at the moment can't get it to update, no matter what I do)
@stuclark
I'm on a UK unlocked device and mine won't update either . Still on A15.
That said I tested AA for 2 X 30min trips ( WFH still ) and did NOT have this bug .
I have seen it mentioned in Oppo advert threads on Facebook , they responded each time saying they were aware and working on it . So far I do not put much faith in their updates though.

Thanks for the reply - I guess we'll wait to see what the firmware update brings (I've tried uninstalling and re-installing AA, but that doesn't downgrade me to an older version I can use). I'll have a go on facebook and the ColorOS forums
@stuclark . Probably worth opening ticket on chat / Twitter DM with them so they are aware. The more the better.
Not surprisingly, the answer from Oppo is:
It's an Android Auto bug. It will be fixed when they release a new version. Until then, set the screen to stay on whilst the phone is charging (in developer options)
Yup. Welcome to Oppo.
Seems the bug has been present for the year the X2 has been out. So dont hold your breath on a fix.
For me it worked to shut down the always on display function

Try turning off always on display, worked for me.
Good evening I live in France and I test Android auto because some of you have problems with the application and I wanted to know if it was the same with my X3 pro. I use the app for over an hour and don't notice any worries. Good luck to all
P.S: I'm under the latest oppo update with the A17

Thanks for your answer - Android Auto does indeed seem better under A17 than the previous (UK certainly) A15 release.
It also helps to turn off third party navigation apps, such as Sygic or Waze - these seem to exacerbate the Android Auto issues with this phone (but work perfectly on other devices)
Images on the lock screen, crash the Android Auto. It is an OS problem. Here is what to do, till the problem is solved :
-Go to Settings, Security, Smart Lock and and your car a trusted device. That way you have your phone unlocked while driving and fingerprint disappears.
(You can also remove fingerprint from lock screen by going to Settings, Passwords & Biometrics, Fingerprint, Screen-off unlock and select off, but then you have to wake up your phone before being able to use fingerprint)
-Go to Settings, ..Always-On Display, Always-On Display and disable it. (You can also select Always-On Display with battery saver, which turns off image after some seconds, but on those seconds, the Andriod Auto is crashed)
