Hey guys,
So I need to unlock my Focus S and went to fastgsm.com, and there are two methods, one by USB and one via IMEI. Can anyone tell me what the difference is? I'm in the USA btw. Thanks!

USB can be quicker and cheaper but more trouble sum to get working if it is possible at all (not all models work)
IMEI can take a while to come through and generally costs more, but is a lot easier to get working.
My phones yet to arrive so I cant say for sure what does and doesn't work, but after spending an hour or so researching unlocking via cable. it doesn't appear to be possible, in that the i937 isn't on any of the supported cable unlock lists..
I unlocked via USB and it worked fine. It's not working in Windows 8 though!
Also, in the event that the USB unlock doesn't work, the network unlock tool is actually displayed within the app, that you can then enter in the phone manually.

could you drop some details of where you did it?
still cant find any cable unlock sites that say they support the i937
FastGSM.com worked fine for me.

Are you using Windows 8 by chance? It didn't work on W8 for me. The program actually displays the unlock code during the process. It's like "network code" or something in the dialog. You can simply enter that into your phone.

yeah it can be SIM unlocked via IMEI and if you don't update it (apparently) via USB cable as well.
One more question . Any other specific advantage on buying a unlocked device apart from price?

Even being unlocked the chances are with the Focus S it will still be branded so the only difference buying unlocked against locked, is that its usually more expensive to buy an unlocked device, however unless you fail do to your research you will find that the price is usually about the same anyway, sometimes marginally more expensive, I suppose you could call it the "hassle tax"
My Experience with UNLOCKing Samsung Focus S i937
...this is is the worst to unlock. I went through 3 ebay sellers (range .99 to $25). No one could find a unlock code (but refunded my money...after complaining). I went to local 3rd party mobile phone shop...they couldn't find a unlock code.
I then went to FastGSM and selected USB unlock...since IMEI way hasn't worked. I paid, downloaded client...client connected..but didn't do anything.. I left it there for 30 mins. Contacted FastGSM, they referred me to online tutorial..which i followed to the "T". Still didn't work. So I deiced to hard reset my phone...still didn't work...i decided to update it to the latest version through Zune( DON'T DO THIS! without making a Backup first!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=13795711).. Then I found this thread...member "64GUNSHIP" stated that usb client doesn't work with Windows 8 ( which is what I was using). So I used another computer with Windows 7. The usb client works!!! I got unlock code...but somehow the "SIM Unlock Screen" didn't show up any more with or without a SIM card. [Unaware to me, the client somehow unlocked my phone without me entering the code]
So the entire time I was trying to figure out did the Zune update kill the Sim unlock menu, I tried the #7465625*638*CODE#. I even restored to a previous ROM Backup. The issue is that I was using an OLD OLD OLD Sim card from a different carrier that the phone didn't recognize. Once I put in a working Tmobile SIM ...everything worked great!
My current phone is LG G4 and in case of this phone it was easy to find all tutorials and do everything in just a few minutes, in case of P9 the task is harder since 'tutorials' are all over the place, so I've decided to make a forum post about it and ask you guys few questions, I'll grab the phone in question later today or tommorow (Issues at provider's end, so I have to wait till they fix it), so I'm gathering all the information and tutorials so I'll be ready to work with this phone as soon as I get it:
1. What is the difference between obtaining/unlocking the P9 through (free) huawei website and the (paid) DC unlocker?
If I use DC unlocker, will it still make a record in Huawei database or it uses own-generated codes?
2. I do plan to debrand, unlock, TWRP, root (via Magisk) and install systemless Xposed. What would be the latest Open Europe FW that will work with full systemless setup? Can you link me threads/files that I could use to achieve this?
EDIT: I just found out that systemless xposed does not pass safetynet. In that case I'd use regular xposed + rootswitch.
Thanks.
bumping after 24hours and also answering my own (first) question. I talked with support and they use their own generated codes, so there are no traces of my phone being unlocked in Huawei database. The only way of checking it would be checking the device itself.
I'm too much of a newbie to answer your questions in entirety but regarding your first question. I did not think there was any difference EXCEPT that I tried for 2-3 days to get an unlock code through the Huawei website and finally just got fed up with the error codes. So I went to DC Unlocker and got one within 10 minutes. I saw on other threads that Huawei's web site is frequently down and unlock codes are sometimes hard to obtain. So, to me, it was just a matter of convenience. Try Huawei first and if you have trouble just pay the $ for DC-Unlocker. Good to know about the Huawei database because I presume that the unlock code that I received from DC-Unlocker will no longer work a second time (since I have since gone back to stock Marshmallow).
At the time of unlocking/relocking by using ADB/Fastboot, no Internet ad no on-line database is involved:
-You can disconnect PC from LAN/WLAN
-ADB reboots phone to the Fastboot mode
-In Fastboot mode phone is not connected to any network
Fastboot just validates if your code matches IMEI/Device ID of your phone
Keep the code safe, you may need it several times - I already used it three times.
Finally, I didn't pay a cent for the unlocking code, go to Huawei Web site (from PC or force Desktop mode in your mobile browser), provide the required info and get the code immediately - buying DC Unlocker could not be any easier or faster.
It was half a year ago, I recall that EU countries (nor USA, Australia, etc) were oferred, I chose Hong Kong or Singapure since they were available and with English language.
You must only provide an e-mail address about yourself, who cares about your real residence.
Btw, I have two Huawei IDs, one from that Hong Kong (for unlocking) and another registered for my real home country, with two different e-mail addresses but for the same phone
I can login to Huawei ID application on the phone, wiith one or another account, no problem
I dont see any need or advantage in paying to DC Unlocker, but everybody can decide for himself/herself
PS If you are concerned about bringing phone to the Huawei service - they immediately see if Bootloader is unlocked (reboot the phone and read the warranty that your phone is not safe - you can get rid off only if you relock the Bootloader but that will hard-reset the phone again) , they can even inspect if Bootloader was unlocked and relocked, they don't rely on a DB
Thanks for your answer. In the end, i just used dc unlocker and now my phone is working as I intended
The only thing I didn't do was reflashing with another FW, since it looked like unmodified/not-branded FW already (despite getting it from the carrier)
Regarding unlock code source - my point was, even if I relock bootloader and there will be no boot message about that & bootloader will report LOCKED status, they MIGHT check in the db for imei match. And that's what I wanted to avoid. (mentioning this just because DC unlocker can LOCK bootloader, not RE-LOCK.)
Hey there.
So the other day I bought a broken Huawei P9 for really cheap. I repaired it and now that it boots, it is locked by the previous owner (by 'locked' I mean it has a pin code/fingerprint). They guy I bought it from claims that he found it in a store. So no one knows the pin code to unlock it.
I tried to wipe everything by accessing the recovery. In the recovery, there is the option to download and check the recovery but when I select it, I get a fail message. Bootloader is locked I believe. So what can I do?
I downloaded HCU-Client but the phone wont be detected by the software. I installed HiSuite for the drivers. Is there anything I can do to wipe the phone or at least make HCU client recognise it?
Thanks in advance
Hi all,
i have spent a couple of days and do not find any solution. Issue: My phone is locked. See attached photo. Why? I bought this phone in Jan 2020 in ebay. The seller didn´t remove his Mi account and I used the phone with his account. I still own the invoice and the packing box etc with IMEI informations. Last week i tried to make a hard reset via recovery mode because i have had an virus on phone. No the device ist locked because i don´t have the Mi Password.
Data:
IMEIs:
863384044067159
863384044067167
Unlock code: YT947Y063103
What I have tested so far:
- contact [email protected] -> only standard email, please use password reset function
-> I also tried the identity function with all data from the seller (including old email etc.), but request was rejected multiple times
- different unlock tools MAD_Unlock_Tool_v1.0, MI UNLOCKER ALL in 1, MiAccountUnlock-Tool, ... -> no function
- Account unlock tool shows the following information:
Detecting DEVICE INTERFACE Ok
Loading INFORMATION Ok
● Brand - olive_eea_global
● Version - 10
● Miui Version - V11.0.3.0.QCNEUXM
● Branch - F
● Language - de
● Region - DE
● Carrier - unknown
- Unfortunately, I cannot boot in fastboot mode. I think this is related to one failed attempt in unlock tool
Vol down + power on never results in fastboot mode. Recovery mode is still possible
- I tried to contact the seller. He is still responsible on his old phone number, used for mi account. But, he has no access to sim card, because is unable to reset password. I don´t know why, honestly
- Different glitch/bug videos in youtube for unlock bypass -> there are all fake
- TWRP install (fastboot mode was possible yesterday) -> not possible because bootloader is locked
What can I do? I have all the official documents (invoice, box, ...) but there is no possible way to use this phone again. Any suggestions? I can provide invoice photos in private chat. Phone is not stolen! I am the owner of this phone.
Updates: I am still struggling.
There is a nearly similar post on XDA, but the person has never got feedback.
Need a way to remove mi account lock on my own device cause Xiaomi won't help

This tool did not work for me. One idea from my side. Would it be helpful to downgrade the OS for bypass function? Any suggestions? Process should be possible in MiFlash.

did you figure out how to unlock the bootloader?

Hello Developers!
I have found an easy way to unlock the bootloader of our Huawei Nova 2 Plus. No need to use Testpoint or pay for software to unlock. it is an Python Script which would brute force the code through the IMEI number you have entered
IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE THE PHONE IS CONNECTED TO ADB OR THIS TOOL WILL NOT WORK AS IT WILL RESTART INTO FASTBOOT AND TRY ALL THE CODES IT GENERATED!!!!!!!.
THIS TOOL WORKS FOR Linux and Windows. the guide is for windows but the script would work for linux completely fine.
REQUIREMENTS
Download The Tool from the thread
Install Python From Microsoft Store Or The Python Website
Run Powershell as Admin
Run the Command:- python unlock.py
Enter Your IMEI Number
MAKE SURE YOUR PHONE IS CONNECTED TO ADB!!!!!
Wait for the code to be found
If your phone reboot into EMUI reboot back into bootloader mode and the tool will start the bootloader unlocking process
The Phone May Reboot Several Times.
If you get an warning about unlocking the bootloader you have succeeded to unlock the bootloader
Special Thanks To KASHIFALIKHAN For the tool . the download will be down below

Hello,
I have a chinese Honor 9x (bought from alieExpress). I currently have the HarmonyOS installed that doesn't allow me to run any google-apps, so I'm trying to unlock the bootloader. Out of desperation I tried to use this program to try bruteforce the unlock code. However as I start running it (USB debug enabled and all in options), after the first reboot it arrives in fastboot mode (as I believe should be expected), but then it gives the error that no devices have been found, and therefore remains hanging at 10% / first code tried.
I have a feeling that somehow after the reboot the usb debugging/OEM mode is not on anymore and therefore the python program doesn't identify the phone. I feel this has to do with the setting "enable OEM mode" not being available in any of the settings in my phone (probably a little chinese easter egg to make all this more difficult?). I don't really know how to tackle this issue tho, any advice is appreciated.

Have you installed Hisuite drivers? And check device manager when you boot into fastboot if it shows Android bootloader interface then you're good to go if not then try installing Hisuite drivers

Since you could enter the bootloader when you first trying, I'm guess it might be the Harmony OS. You can try use Hisuite to roll back your HarmonyOS to EMUI, then try to unlock the bootloader. Most of modified Android OS removed the OEM mode to make you have a hard time on unlock bootloader. These will be really easy if you use some phones like Google's Pixel.
I have an old Huawei Nova 3i and it's updated into the Harmony OS, which is not what I want, I'd like to have a more cleaner OS that not with so much preinstalled apps. Then I roll back to EMUI as the first step to install other ROM, and that script it's working now. It's still trying get the password so I can't say it worked or some thing else.
And alter is that, if you just want install some google-apps, you may just roll back to EMUI, it should worked fine. And I'm not really suggest you have any phone from Huawei now since they really push their Harmony OS as a thing (at least, in China) and not really friendly towards people not in China (since lots of popular apps' depended G-apps). I'm annoyed even I'm Chinese though.
