Am i screwed? - Sony Xperia XZ2 Questions & Answers

Just bought this phone thinking with the roms would help me with volte, and then i saw today that you NEED volte to work in order to even use the roms. Tried oem.sin swapping like someone else stated. volte absolutely refuses to work. Should i just return this phone with tmobiles 3g shutdown coming soon?

Issue with At&t unlocked Moto X 2014. on t-mobile

So i am having issue. I bought a Moto X 2014 and it is clean in terms of imei. Both t-mobile says its clean and at&t says its clean. It is a AT&T variant XT1097 and like i said it is clean in terms of imei. weirdly enough T-mobile wont be picked up on the service, but AT&T will? it basically says
No Service
selected network (T-mobile) unavailable
and when i do try to select a network it says
"cant connect to network right try again later"
has anyone else have this issue with the AT&T moto trying to use it on at&t? and found a solution? if there is any solution ill take it i need all the help i can get lol
i tried reseting it, factory reseting, airplane mode, etc literally almost everything else.
Sorry.....I have similar issue..Did you find the solution? If yes could you share the info for it.

Add the T-Mobile APN.
it's discussed on the ATT thread, basically it's an issue with the lollipop radio used on our update, "fix" is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/att-xt1097-lollipop-discussion-t2951294/page36
Add the APN (as mentioned above)
Download the 4G/LTE switcher app
select WCDMA preferred as network, only HSDPA speeds but it's better than no service ^_^
I had this similar issue and it was driving me absolutely insane, the connection would be weak then it would just disconnect me altogether and then zero service. Most of the time if I were to get a call the radio would switch to HSPAP like normal then after the call it would fail to switch back to LTE then it would just completely drop connection. This is on an unlocked AT&T XT1097 running on the unlimited MetroPCS (T-Mobile) mind you.
Since February 2015 I've been dealing with this bug by using LTE switch to get by, but this got so tedious and it just irked me that I had to go thru all this crap because of poor development. This is a pretty huge bug that should've never been there to begin with. Seriously, how dare you mess with my service Google?
Anyways what I did to fix this completely was just purchase MoFoRoot for $20 (fully worth BTW) and flash the 4.4.4 AT&T modem and now I have zero issues. I used to not connect to the network on a reboot but since flashing the modem I am now able to connect and stay connected without any hassle. The connection is now solid and I can't be happier with this phone. Currently on stock 5.0.2 non-rooted with 4.4.4 modem and zero problems, now I don't need to get another phone.
Using the fast.metropcs.com APN as the T-Mobile APN doesn't allow me to connect. I have solid LTE and HSPA/HSPAP service with it and can't be happier... I take that back, I'd be happier with better indoor coverage.
Thank you makers of MoFoRoot for your lifesaver app, I am happy to have supported your fine work.

WiFi calling interntional

Can anyone help me out please
Problem: WiFi calling not working.
I'm currently overseas in the uae right now and will be year for a whole year. I've tried getting my WiFi calling to work on both LP and MM but no luck. I've tried fresh installs, airplane mode toggle, WiFi tether toggle, WiFi toggle and nothing seems to work.
After I finished setting this aosip 6.0 ROM today, I looked at my quick settings and it showed T-Mobile WiFi calling but immediately after that, I had to reboot the device for a layers theme install. After reboot the WiFi calling was gone. I've tried everything I know possible to get it back but no luck.
Anyone ever experience this or can anyone possibly help me out because T-Mobile has already started hitting me for roaming charges.
Please and thank you
My current ROM
wifi calling doesnt matter about your rom, its about your provider. if your provider does not provide wifi calling(like tmobiles wifi calling), then wifi calling will never work.
It's T-Mobile. And I've check with multiple reps who told me that it's active on my account

tmo usa via intermational? i dont know if that would work..
They told me it would. I've spoken to 6 different reps. They all confirmed that WiFi calling as long as it's calling back to the US is free and unlimited

cool, i had no idea.. now i know
try using google voice instead, I know its boot what you asked about but it's what I used and it has nothing to do with the Rom, it's standalone app
I use T-Mobile Wifi calling in Europe back to the US without issue, but I set it up while still in the US.
Since T-Mobile has a *very* nice international roaming data scheme, I suggest you use Google Voice/Hangouts to avoid incurring roaming charges until you get this fixed,

Dual Sim Galaxy Note 9 SM-N960F/DS Stock Rom Now Supports Verizon VoLTE, Looks Like

I have knox tripped but completely stock SM-N960F/DS that has Verizon VoLTE working perfectly fine !!!
I have an international SM-N960F/DS from ebay a few months ago. I had to install custom rom to get it work with Verizon. Hence Knox tripped.
Today, because of other reason, I decided to flash a stock rom to it. I took N960FXXU3CSF9_N960FOXM3CSF9_XSP which is for Singapore, and flashed to it and turned it completed stock except for tripped Knox. Afterwards, got an OTA update via wifi.
I have a already activated Verizon Sim and a Google Fi data-only sim, and they somehow work fine with stock rom. Verizon sim had VoLTE option, and registered IMS. I can make phone calls, text etc. obviously, there is no wi-fil calling or video calling.
I did have problem right after setting up the phone to get the sim cards to grab on signal and/or get LTE data turned on. took sometime to get them working, but once LTE worked, the VoLTE worked all the time. I did setup the phone without sim, and then put sims in there. in order to get signal, I had to get the phone on in a strong signal area for 30 min or so, and had tried to move sim around different slots or put one sim in first etc. I don't even know what worked at the end, but after an hour or so of different tries, now both sim cards worked well, and I can make phone call and receive phone call via Verizon.
Maybe Samsang finally did something to CSC to allow VoLTE. but if this is true, quite significant, as international Note 9 now works without any modification in at least Verzion if you don't need wifi calling or video calling.
I don't have T-Mobile voice sim card, therefore, I can't get if VoLTE works T-Mobile or AT&T.

Stock rom or similar with VOLTE and WIFI calling enabled?

Hi guys,
Seems like a common problem with Xperia phones in that carrier settings on the stock rom the phone ships with doesn't have VOLTE or WIFI Calling enabled so even if your carrier has provisioned it, you can't enable it via *#*#4636#*#*
Does anyone have a fix or something that can be flashed onto the phone to help?

So this is what it is. I imported my Xperia 1 ii from Clove UK and was using it with Verizon didn't get VOLTE and WIFI calling.
I switched to tmobile didn't get VOLTE and WIFI calling, after some research and googling found out that Google Project Fi will give both WIFI calling and VOLTE.
3 days before I ordered my project Fi sim from Google it arrived last night I inserted it into my phone and Voila I get WIFI calling there is a toggle for that and also I am getting VOLTE.
I WAS paying 85 dollars on T-Mobile magenta plus plan on 1 line now I will be paying 80 dollars with Google Fi for 1 line. I am gonna put out a YouTube video tonight for Xperia 1 ii with Google fi.
Umm not everyone wants to switch to Google Fi someone else suggested this but nobody wants to switch lol

I don't know why people don't want to switch, I am talking about single line with taxes included it's 78 dollars for unlimited. Look at Verizon, T-Mobile and att what they are charging for one line. Then only on Fi you get wifi calling and volte with Xperia 1 ii. Those were enough reason for me to switch.
I'm glad it works for you, however, I pay $80 for 3 lines and true unlimited data on Tmobile. Google-Fi makes no sense for me and there are no reports of someone flashing the US firmware to see if it works yet. Some of us are waiting for someone to test it out.

It's just my point of view, even thou Google Fi works on T-Mobile network but there service is just out of this world where ever I have gone with it. No network congestion, Google made Android and they know how to optimize the cellular network.

It'll work. I'd flash the US firmware, but it's still on an old version. I'll flash when I get back stateside at the end of July. VoLTE works on t-mobile as long as you're on US Firmware. Has worked for my XZ3 and 1.
I don't want to switch to Google fi as well.
I attempted to use flash tool to get a customised firmware but was unable to get this working. Have any of you tried the method outlined by Brocnical?
Project Fi is a no go for me as I'm located in Australia.
Keen to get this figured out.

Anyone using the US unlocked model on Verizon? Curious if wifi calling works.

Hey all,
I'm curious if anyone is willing to chime in to let me know if they are running the US unlocked model: SM-G781U1 on Verizon. I have an existing activated Verizon sim card (currently in a Pixel 4 XL) and could easily put it in a US unlocked model. I'm mostly considering the unlocked model since it seems like it's easier to get better deals on it and I tend to prefer unlocked models. I suspect it will work fine, maybe without some 5G bands but that's of no concern for me. Can anyone confirm if they have this setup and if wifi calling works? Sometimes I have seen Verizon block wifi calling on unlocked phones and for me at least this is an important feature because of my lack of cell signal where I'm at.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can shed some light.
I am and it does give you the option to set up wifi calling. I set it up and was able to make a call while in airplane mode. No 5G though. Still says LTE.
Thanks so much for that info. That is really helpful and gives me the extra confidence that it's the next right phone for me. I love my Pixel 4 XL but want something new and am also thinking I may actually utilize Dex a bunch so we'll see. I appreciate you taking the time to test that for me.

I'm hoping you can help me out by please posting images of our unlocked phone working with wifi calling.
Samsung is telling me that it doesn't work and never will, but verizon is telling me that they have hundreds of these phones working with wifi calling.
I believe Verizon and you! and want samsung to do something to fix my phone which is clearly not working the way it should. They have asked me to verify that it is even possible.
Please post images of your phone model # with wifi calling working.
THANK YOU!
